Great food, really good value
Really lovely food. Friendly and relaxed. The kids menu is surprisingly good too and my son loved his meal.
Always a very pleasant ambience with cheerful, attentive service. Pub food of a very good standard with plenty of choice. Perfect for a group of friends to meet and chat. It is so much more pleasant because of the space and decor than many other pub venues and therefore worth the little extra cost.
Great staff, as usual. Nice and comfortable. Pizzas were tasty and they have a great selection of drinks
Quick service, big portions and tasty food! Would recommend!
Good menu choice, wine excellent and great ambience. The service was very efficient, friendly and waitress had good knowledge of the menu.
really enjoyed it, everything was perfect. Definitely a favourite for us.
Excellent delicious food, amazing choice of wine beer.
Great place to meet after work. Food and service were excellent.
Good meal as usual, served by a very courteous waiter from Columbia
Excellent from start to finish, very good food, taste to suit everyone, really good value too & variety of drinks.
The conservatory’ was noisey, service was very good. On ordering, the food came out very quickly, the roast potatoes were just awful, nearly every plate that went back to the kitchen had the roast potatoes on it, surly this tells management something, the Yorkshire pudding were extremely big and like crisps, I prefer mine small and soft. The food was like warm on arrival and I like my food to be very hot.
I imagine it’s all prepared and dished out like it’s on a conveyor belt.
The dessert was okay, we were seated near the toilet, so lots of traffic while trying to eat.
The staff are what saved the day, would I go back to eat there ? Sorry but I doubt it very much
We thoroughly enjoyed Sunday lunch at the Metropolitan. We were a party of three and had chicken, beef and the nut roast.
The meat and vegetables were beautifully cooked and presented. The food was delicious.
We were too full for a pudding unfortunately. We will definitely return again and highly recommend eating at the Metropolitan.
Unsurprisingly very busy on a Sunday when it becomes a mass gathering of parents, toddlers and babies. Nothing wrong with that, just don’t expect a calm and quiet environment. Sunday roasts outstanding, as always!
Friendly, welcoming, great food, something for everyone, kid friendly, affordable - highly recommend :-)
Best roast ever!
Good service, polite staff.
Fabulous Sunday lunch with vreat food options to suit vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The vegan sausage and mash was really tasty.
It was New Year's Eve, they run of one of their key specials by 8.30 so my friend was forced to choose something else. Because she wanted the accompaniments of the original dish, they tried charging her extra. Both dishes - the steak (having requsted medium-rare) and the pork were massively overcooked. We told them about half way through (having had to stop eating and call someone over to tell them, because they hadn't asked as a standard) and were offered an alternative meal. We explained we were stuck because we knew they'd run out of steak, and only had the pork by consequence, so wanted monetary compensation. We were offered another bottle of wine, which we had to suggest would be a fair alternative. Then we moved into the bar area for midnight (given it was a 'New Year's Eve Party', we expected something celebratory to be happening; there was nothing. They had the TV on showing the fireworks in London, but there was no volume, so no collective 'bringing in the new year', half the room was oblivious, there was no countdown of any sort. All in very disappointing. Wish we'd stayed in.
Great New Year’s Eve spent at The Met, only point would be that music could have been louder / a live band would have been a great addition! Our waitress (the lady with the star headband?) was very attentive and kept our glasses well topped up so thank you!
Had the turkey and ham pie, usually excellent but this evening the pastry was uncooked apart from on top, disappointing
Ate here Saturday 27th and was that good we decided to come again Sunday 28th both were equally excellent
Staff looked after our family group brilliantly and everyone enjoyed their food- thanks to all the team
Lovely staff, warm welcome, though service a little slow overall. Starters were not hot. Mains were all lovely. Atmos fabulous, really buzzing. We had a wheelchair user with us and access was good. Would recommend.
Great service, lovely food and always good atmosphere.
Wonderful place, great food, excellent service.
Food excellent, only so noisy due to Christmas Party groups having a good chat. Service excellent
Excellent food, slightly noisey but it was christmas party time. Will definintely come again, as the value was good and the food was hot and very very nice.
Absolutely lovely as always! It was a little noisier than usual, lots of families with kids with it being Christmas but a lovely atmosphere and everyone was well behaved 🎄😍
Excellent turkey and bacon pie with chips. Pie full of meat in a gorgeous sauce
Biggest roast in the world!
This was an excellent birthday meal out for my wife and 2 grown children. Nothing could be faulted.
Really good service, lovely meal and beautiful environment - nice and Christmassy
Excellent place to eat ordered 10 oz rib eye
which was nice but would have been better
with real handmade chips especially at nearly £24
Very pleasant food, buzzy environment, service was ok but a little slow at times
Perfect! Such a good value roast! We will be back very soon :)
Our favourite for Sunday lunch. He eats meat: I don't, so doing a proper lunch at home doesn't happen... The Met is our occasional Sunday treat, when we want our individual meals done properly. Proper lush!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch. Everything was cooked beautifully and was really tasty.
Great Sunday lunch and very buzzy atmosphere in the pub. We had a nice table but suspect some could be pretty noisy and could have done with the pub being a bit warmer although to be fair it speaks very cold when we went
Very good the only problem is that they want to pick up your plate before you have finished.
The food was poor and in the case of the calzone, badly burnt. Expected much better. Service was very good
