The Mirabelle Restaurant
Excellent service !
The foods was delicious and will recommend it to friends & family
As before we had excellent food and excellent service.
Beautiful decor & ambience. The food was first class & the staff were fantastic ~ we had a very nice time celebrating our wedding anniversary. Enjoyed every moment.
The Mirabelle has been beautifully refurbished and it was good to see it looking even smarter than before. The food was superb - I could have drunk buckets of the wonderful lobster bisque - in fact, every thing was so well presented and delicious.
Service was brilliant too - helpful, unobtrusive staff made us feel comfortable and anticipated our needs.
This is a wonderful restaurant and the lunch menu is extremely good value too. It was a happy, celebratory lunch which we hope to repeat in the near future.
Lovely for a special occasion. Set meal very high quality and excellent value, but the drinks are costly compared to the food.
Fantastic meal, really enjoyed the meal. We had the tasting menu with the matching wine pairing which was fantastic value and the food was as good as I've had anywhere. The service was also excellent. With food, service and value of this quality it should have a michelin star.
The six of us enjoyed a delicious three course lunch, continuing our tradition of having a pre-Christmas family get together at the Grand. The service was excellent, there were plenty of staff to ensure we were well looked after. My favourite course was dessert, which was caramelised pineapple served with black pepper ice cream - simple but so tasty. We'll definitely be back next December if not before!
We were staying in the Grand as part of my husband's birthday celebrations and booked for the Mirabelle on our first evening. We decided on the Taster Menu with wines. The staff were excellent, being informative but not intrusive, just what was needed. The food was delicious and risotto with scallops was devine.
Thanks to the Mirabelle we had a lovely evening with delicious food and wines to enhance every course.
Another memorable meal. Service was outstanding. I mentioned I was vegetarian and was offered various extra options in addition to those already on the menu. The waiters knew the ingredients very well. A live pianist played beautifully throughout, adding a lovely finishing touch.
The Mirabelle restaurant is set in the Grand Hotel, Eastbourne. The restaurant looks out onto the hotel garden which adds to its charm. We enjoyed the set lunch menu, which was reasonable value. Two of us had the haddock starter in a divine sauce, and one had the chunky yet tasty soup. We all enjoyed the special lamb main course, which was very tender and just the right shade of pink. The desserts were equally scrumptious, especially the tiramissu. Highly recommended. ps the afternoon teas also looked good, but we were too full to try them!
We live near Eastbourne but had never been to the Mirabelle. With friends visiting who like fine dining and wines we booked the restaurant and were very pleased that we did. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Food excellent but the wine a little pricey. Had a great evening. Will definitely be going back.
I went to Brighton with my wife to take out a special friend for a meal. We were pleased with the whole experience. The food was excellent and we were very pleased with the service.
The only slightly negative comment which did not reduce the enjoyment was that our special friend was 86 years old and there was no way that she could eat three courses. We asked the senior waiter if there was a possibility that she might have two courses rather than three and he informed us that there was a waiting list for the restaurant and that if we were not prepared to pay for three courses there were other people waiting. Because the waiter insisted our friend tried to eat a third course and left most of it.
This could have been handled better as we had no issue paying. It was more that an 86 year old cannot eat as much as a younger age group and this could have been handled more sensitively.
This restaurant is an absolute must if you like Michelin style food. Amouse Bouche is served with beautiful presentation and taste, as is all the food. Service is exceptional and attention to detail brilliant.
Good value lunch in pleasant restaurant which we all enjoyed, Very nice staff and we will go again
We were staying at the Grand Hotel and visited Mirabelle for my Mother's 60th birthday. The service, food and atmosphere were wonderful. The staff were extremely polite and friendly, and very helpful when it came to helping me find suitable gluten free food (I'm coeliac). The food was delicious, and with the three-course set menu we were worried about finding it too filling, but it was just perfect. Highly recommended, especially for a special occasion.
Fantastic service, good food and a varied wine choice. We enjoyed a special birthday that was a real treat. The food was delicious, especially the venison and the service first class. The wine choice by the glass was excellent. The personable staff were impeccable although the restaurant was very busy.
The ambience was excellent with the restaurant beautifully decorated with flowers. The pianist playing added to the ambience and was simply perfect! Good value too with lunch for two less than £100. We are looking forward to our next visit soon!
Three of us had lunch in the Mirabelle Restaurant at The Grand Hotel on 28th Feb. It was a special occasion made even more special by fantastic food and wonderful service - a special mention for the wine waiter who really knows his wine list!
I love the 'no phone' policy - makes for a much more relaxing time. Great atmosphere - lots of other diners, all of whom were polite and considerate of each other - no overloud diners! Brilliant.
Food is always good and the menu is changed once a week and the choice is limited.
Always able to count on well presented, tasty food.
Had a great evening and the taster menu was great.
The Mirarabell in the Grand Hotel Eastbourne is very grand in an Edwardian way, plenty of space between table. The service was slow to start bt OK afterwards. We had the tasting menu with the accompaning wines. All very good.
Excellent meal and service yet again. Ben and his team are simply great!
First visit to this restaurant in the 5 star Grand Hotel. Was everything we expected and more. Service was impeccable, whilst retaining a relaxed atmosphere. Menu was not huge but well balanced. Food tasted exceptionally good, and there was a surprise extra free appetiser with the compliments of the chef! Wine list was unbelievable. Am already saving for a return visit! Need to be aware of dress code, which wasn't stated when booking (unless I missed it).
Despite a fire alarm and the whole grand being evacuated just as we arrived, when we were finally allowed back in the mirabelle staff were excellent. Food was good with fairly speedy service considering the gas had only been turned back on 10 mins before. Very special meal and afternoon out.
MIRABELLE RESTAURANT, GRAND HOTEL
Lovely room overlooking the sea in a beautiful building which lives up to its name.
Service was impeccable, food delicious, excellent presentation, lovely wine.
Our only criticism is the music which was stuffy, classical and just loud enough to be annoying so ambience is marked down - otherwise the experience was faultless.
Good food, attentive service
Excellent service, wonderful food, pleasant atmosphere and VERY reasonable. I wanted something veggie (wasn't overly impressed with the veggie options on the menu) and Chef cooked up a fabulous mushroom main for me. Very grateful indeed.
we spent a very pleasant evening at the Mirabelle Restaurant. The food and service were excellent. It was nice to have the pianist playing in the background.
The Mirabelle in Eastbourne was an excellent lunch place. The food was good, staff extremely pleasant and thoughtful and the place, although somewhat tired and faded exuded oldworld charm! We would go again.
Nice evening - nice meal - nice service. Overall, very nice.
We arrived at the Grand Hotel in appalling weather and our car was parked for us. We were seated at a large table with a window view. The pike souffle was divine, and the cheese souffle was perfect. The chicken main course was well cooked yet not exciting, but the slow cooked belly pork my daughter ordered, was superb, served with perfectly cooked vegetables. The saffron and honeycomb ice cream was the perfect finale. The service was discreet and attentive.
The Grand Hotel Eastbourne. Very traditional venue. Service attentive without being too intrusive. Food was good but not great. However good value for money
Mirabelle at Eastbourne was lovely. Food was good but not exceptional. Service excellent.
Great experience as ever. Service a tad on the slower (than usual) side, but food and price excellent so overall experience was not too disappointing!!
They did not have a booking for us. Apparently this happens quite a lot with Toptable bookings for the Mirabelle Restaurant!! Luckily they could accommodate us, but I understand that last week the couple who booked through Toptable were not as lucky!
Great traditional restaurant, disappointing desserts as they were all heavily cream based & therefore lacked variety!!
The Mirabelle was a lovely restaurant, but sadly lacking if you are a vegetarian. No choice available . Would expect something with a wow factor for that price. Otherwise staff were lovely and the pianist great. Would recommend for non vegetarians.
Once again an excellent meal. Service started off good but as the restaurant became more busy, we seemed to wait longer between courses. To be expected I suppose. Pianist was amazing.
