The Montagu at Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill Ratings and Reviews
A fantastic all-can-eat buffet with unlimited champagne and wine. Starters are particularly delicate and well prepared. Staff are extremely efficient at topping up your glass. In addition to main courses like a sunday roast, chicken, salmon and usual trimmings, they do a nice line in scrambled egg, sausage, bacon and mushrooms. Well worth a visit.
My wife and I came here for their Chocolate Afternoon Tea and it was exquisite. The tea was the best we have ever tasted - a perfect mix of cocoa nibs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange. The food was also not to be missed. Nearly every dish was a highlight, but the biggest standouts were the white chocolate and passion fruit macarons, the slider with chocolate bbq sauce, and the dark chocolate mousse with raspberries.
Several days later, we're still talking about this meal.
For the meal price unlimited champagne, red and white wine, as well as soft drinks are included. We booked this location because of the pleasant uncrowded ambience and the live piano and singer which went to make up a really delightful Sunday brunch experience. Not to forget the food, which was fresh, high quality, well presented and with an excellent selection to suit all tastes. Highly recommended venue.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Montagu. The food was tasty and well presented. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The wines which went with the fixed price menu had changed since our previous visit and both were good. The fixed price lunch was excellent value for money.
I have used The Montgu for approaching three decades as a business venue and occasionally for just family - this visit was an exception being a special family gathering - everyone attending was seriously impressed by all facets of the event - it was an outstanding experience for our party of 11. Thank you.
The Montague is a stylish, high quality restaurant, with an open plan kitchen, attentive staff, and very enjoyable food.
There is a good level of expertise but not bordering on to unnecessary fanciness. Portions were hearty but not to the detriment of the standard or flavour, and the only slight downside was the noise in the room, perhaps caused by a few christmas parties, so not to be unexpected.
I would certainly recommend to others
Fabulous service, lovely restaurant with a nice buzz, tables well spaced so you could have a private conversation. When I booked I asked for a table away from the music as my Mum is hard of hearing and they gave us the quietest corner table which was very thoughtful. We had the festive menu with a glass of champagne and it was great food. Would highly recommend.
I have been a devotee of The Montagu since 2011. Everything about it is almost perfect. Spaced tables so one can actually have a conversation. Wonderfully presented food. Thanksgiving lunch was a treat. Pumpkin soup, foie gras, sea bass and a delectable pudding. What more can anyone ask?
Dinner at The Montagtu on Friday was, as ever, very good indeed. Their set menu with half a bottle of wine for £30 for lunch and dinner is a steal. My only criticism is the set menu should change more often. We ended up eating the same thing two weeks running. Otherwise it is a great place to have on our doorste.
