The Morecambe Hotel
The hotel is fabulous, the food amazing and all the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there was a young child with a couple dining at the same time, and the child belted out ear piercing screams the whole time we were there. It ruined my father's birthday celebrations and spoilt other diners experience too. It was such a shame....but would definitely recommend and will go again
Eaten here twice on the last week. First time was great. Second time was a Thursday about 5pm. Maybe that’s a bad day to eat. Service was just ok. The food was eatable have ever the brioche Buns were stale, dry and just fell apart. A letdown I must say
Overall great food. 2 of the main courses were not as we expected. When we raised this with the team it was sorted out to our satisfaction. The rib eye steak was lovely.
The food was exceptional, the service was great but it felt a little like they didn't want to be there on a Sunday evening. I like the Morecambe and would happily recommend friends to visit and enjoy the food.
The food was average this time normally it great. The lamb was supposed to be served with dauphinois potatoes but the ones we had were not creamy at all. The vanilla mash was odd and the croquet was dry. It was an anniversary meal so was a bit disappointed if I’m honest. Service was very slow even though it wasn’t very busy.
I would recommend however if they are vegetarian or vegan, unfortunately I couldn't recommend.
Their menu is very lacking in vegetarian options and no vegan.
A disappointing experience after many great visits. I went with my family. 7 of us in total. It was a relatively quiet lunchtime which was surprising for a sunday but the service was slow. We waited over an hour for food. Two meals were then sent back for being cold. Portions didn't seem as generous as previous trips.
Hope this was a one off as it's normally good.
Food was fantastic and service was great. Really well presented and tasted amazing! Will definitely be coming again and soon!
We had the lamb colcannon and both thoroughly enjoyed it, the meat and veg were beautifully cooked and flavorsome. We had a small query with the potato when it arrived, the waitress and cook couldn't have more helpful - excellent service.
Lovely food, friendly staff. Really enjoyed our visit.
A nice Sunday lunch but a tad expensive. Could have done with more veg, had to buy as an extra. Meat was beautifully cooked. Prices for a special treat not a regular diner. Pleasant waitress. Nice and clean dining area.
Friendly, professional service, fab food and great interiors
Fantastic food, great service, good atmosphere, refreshing gin, with plenty to choose from, complimented with Mediterranean tonic-will certainly be coming back.
Our table was at the top of the steps next to the kitchen. Every time the kitchen door opened it blew a gail.
Service was very very slow, we waited over 45min for our main course and getting a sweet took for ever
We had to call a waiter to get it ordered and then it took over 30 min to come.
Lovely food and pleasant surroundings although service a bit slow but the staff where busy
Superb evening and meal, however as four adults it was a little noisy with young children and babies at our adjacent tables. I accept it is not always easy to fit everyone where they want to be, but it may be something to consider. May be worth having separate areas.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Warmly welcomed by staff, excellent choices on menu.
Delicious food served in light, airy surroundings.
Lovely meal and catch up with friend. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We both had fillet steak salad and it was delicious. Prosecco was pretty good too and all very reasonable.
The best Sunday Roast around - perfect. Lovely environment too.
We were staying in the west end of the town but due to previous visits to this hotel we felt it was well worth the walk and we were not disappointed.
My Wife and I were kindly invited to the Morecambe Hotel as guest by my friend and His wife. The food was very good, pub was quiet and almost empty, but the whole experience was ruined by the appalling service by all staff who were present at the time. Our food took so long to arrive one of our party had to leave due to work before they'd finished their meal.
We then had to ask - politely I may add - a waitress to clear our table which judging by the expression on Her face was really upsetting for Her.
Then We had to ask the same waitress for the dessert menu which also didn't go down well. We then had to call Her back to give our order or She obviously wouldn't of bothered.
Then after finally ordering our desserts we waiting for more than 35 minutes until we just gave up. Our friend cancelled the order paid the bill and we just left in total bewilderment by the way no member of staff seemed particularly bothered.
There was a gentleman - who may of been the manager - near the bar doing some paperwork or playing with His phone not sure. There was another female member of staff sitting chatting to friends not more than 3/4 yards away from our table. There were two waitress's who just walked around aimlessly doing nothing as far as we could see. All this was going on while we sat waiting for someone to come and take our orders.
Wouldn't visit this place again if it was free! Absolutely appalling way to treat customers. If you could give minus for the service I would.
A very nice venue with a good selection of starters and mains. The menu has recently changed but some old favourites remain. It was rather noisy to start with but this is unusual (it was Morecambe Music festival weekend and many guests had not yet moved on). We had a very pleasant waitress who never stopped smiling. Food was very good apart from the duck which tasted lovely but was a bit tough. They did offer to redo but as they were husy we declined the offer.
A nice place overall with good atmosphere.
The food was interesting, some strange combinations as with the potted shrimps and egg, and everything in buckets, pots or tubs which looked nice but cluttered up the plate and the table and was un-necessary
The staff were very pleasant and helpful but the service was extremely slow, both before we received the first course and between courses.
It was busy but the couple on the next table waited an hour and quarter for their food and we weren't much faster.
The food was expensive as well but overall it was an ok night.
I think the place is nice to go for a drink but we won't be eating there again.
There are places with better food that are much cheaper.
Excellent as always. The conservatory area is a bit echoing but the food is great the staff are always helpful. This is a great asset to Morecambe
Arrived for a 6.30 booking. Gave name and time. Seemed to look at computer and that was it. Ordered drinks which came quickly and by then a waitress had arrived to show us to our table.
Table surface was sticky probably from use of spraying.
Ordered 2 lamb Sunday roasts. Wasn’t too long coming. Turned out to be a lamb shank. People on table complained that meal wasn’t hot but edible. So was ours. Moments after we had started eating a dish of cauliflower and a jug of gravy appeared. That was hot. Didn’t bother with a desert.
Asked for the bill which arrived quickly to find I had been charged a further £120 for a room we hadn’t booked. That was resolved so we paid and left.
Had better Sunday meals elsewhere for much less so won’t be going back
After booking a table through the online app, when we arrived there was some confusion about my booking. I had confirmation but no booking had come through. This did not stop us getting a table in the dining room at the front of the hotel. The way the room was laid out made it feel a bit small, there was also a table in who were very loud and noisy. My mother and myself could not here each other talk and we left with headaches. I could not fault the service or the food, but will be asking to sit in another part of the hotel in future.
I had a fish dih which was well presented and tasty but there wasn't enough. Extra veg would have helped.
The food was good.
I much prefer to be seated in the front dining room. I hate smoking and can smell smoke whilst I was eating as the doors were open to the conservatory and smokers kept going through to outside. This spoils the ambience of the room and the experience. When seated in the front dining room it is much more intimate and a better enxperience.
I have fined at the Morecambe Hotel on a number of occasions & never been disappointed. I highly recommend the restaurant
Lovely fresh food, great atmosphere and friendly staff as always!
The service is appalling. Two waitresses were arguing behind the bar in front of customers. We waited over 35 minutes for our table to be cleared despite it not being over busy. We asked for coffee and it stood for over 10 minutes on the bar before someone brought it over cold. Plus we had to wait 30 minutes for someone to take the order. We asked at least 4 times to have our table cleared away.
Such a shame as the food was very good but I definitely won’t go back there.
Have been to the Morecambe Hotel several times and on each occasion the service has been excellent, food is brilliant, I just can't find fault with the Morecambe, have reccomended it to many of my friends and they all say the same.
Pleasant staff, lovely food and everyone made a fuss of our dogs. So nice to find dog-friendly pubs on our travels!😊
My favourite place to eat on Morecambe. The steak was cooked to how I enjoy it and the chips were cooked lovely
Good food, good service, reasonable prices. Becoming a favourite restaurant
Had a lovely meal here whilst staying for one night. Very friendly helpful staff and good food at a reasonable price , would definitely recommend.
As I’ve come to expect, the food was good, everyone enjoyed it. Friends were particularly pleased that they could order a small fish and chips as they thought they wouldn’t manage a normal size!
Service was good, staff seem genuinely happy. All very efficient. I even got to sample the beers, we’ll recommended.
Will be eating here again soon
Great unexpected find. Good dining opportunities we found to be seriously lacking in Morecambe, was recommended Morecambe hotel by our hotel
As it's not on a main rd I don't think we would have found it. Must be honest was expecting just pub grub, very pleasantly surprised, food was very good. My foibles about sauces and having different wine glasses were all handled with humour and effeciency. Found all the staff to be courteous and professional (another rarity in Morecambe it would seem)
Well done Morecambe hotel ten out of ten
And thanks to Tom for entertaining us and allowing a tour of the hotel, which looked stunning.
Keep up the good work
Lovely meal as usual and great service.
Will be back again very soon!
As we arrived the waitress was busy sorting the television before acknowledging us. We sat and had some drinks whilst we waited for our other guests to arrive. It was very quiet at this point of the day, I went to the bar to order some coffee and stood for a couple of minutes whilst the staff had a personal conversation before I had to get their attention to be served. We ordered our food, tables around us who had arrived a lot later got their food and we waited over 45 minutes for ours, at which point we went and enquired and was told it was 'on the way', 15 minutes after that it arrived. We were not asked if we wanted any sauces and when the waitress came back she said, 'everything looks ok' but did not ask us. I have been here a couple of times before, the food is lovely and usually i have no complaints but I felt like we were more of an inconvenience to the staff.
