The Morgan Arms
Lovely pub and really good food! Good atmosphere and a great local to have in Bow.
Good food and good value restaurant. Noise levels are a problem like many London restaurants. Maybe there should be a separation from the bar. Avoid the quiz night!
I had a wonderful visit with my parents, food was nice, great service. We are looking to come back to join in the quiz night. Thanks
Great, from the moment we booked to the very last minute, we loved it
Good food, good gastropub. Nice to have a pub with vegan options that aren't salad - especially on a Sunday!
A great place to meet up with friends, have Sunday lunch, a few drinks and go onto the baseball
Lovely little gastronpub, great vegan options! Friendly staff, friendly clientele would definitely go back.
Bang average food. Used to be quite good a few years back but no more.
Mac and cheese croquettes were burned and tasted of nothing, the prawn cocktail was bog standard and too expensive, the baked Camembert was ok but pretty hard to get that wrong!
The food was great but a bit pricey for the portions. The staff were very busy and obviously overstretched. Had to keep trying to get someone’s attention to order and was pretty much ignored while the waiters spoke between themselves. We expected a better service for the price. The experience became a bit stressful and felt like I was burdening the team by dining there.
delicious sunday roast! Great service in the restaurant
Overall a good place to catch up and hang out with friends and family
Great little pub. Best vegan burger iv ever tasted. Wish they had more comfortable seating, but can't complain as it was a Friday night so others took the best seats. Overall fab little place in the heart of Bow. The food is remarkable. Staff are wonderful too. Especially Dave who served us.!
Went on Easter Saturday and it was very quiet for a change. In the main the food was as per usual, great standard, apart from my hamburger which I found dry and boring.
Booked for dinner with my parents on a Wednesday evening for a catch up. I’ve been coming to The Morgan arms for around 8 years as its local to me. I love this place it has only got better and better as the years have gone by. They were a little stretched for staff I felt that night however we never waited for anything and got everything we ordered in a timely manner. We had two of the steak specials and a fish and chips. Camembert and whitebait with calamari to start. Food was hot tasty and what you would expect for the price. Always welcoming and they do great lunch time specials during the week. Would whole heartedly recommend.
A lovely gastro pub. When it’s busy it’s very noisy and difficult to hold a conversation in the main areas. Ok choice of beers and ales. We had burgers but noticed that they weren’t as good as a few days ago when one of us was here with her mum. Starters and desserts very good. Service excellent, decor and facilities lovely. Would recommend.
We went for Mother's Day. Both the starter and the dessert my mum wanted was not available. If it's not available then it should not be on the menu or tell us when we are seated
There was a terrible smell in the entire pub and restaurant. The smell in the toilets was absolutely disgusting and flies everywhere! So bad we left before eating our food ! The waiter was lovely and very apologetic. It really should be closed down whilst this gets sorted
Service could have been better but the food was second to none.
Food has been greasy for a while now. Not worth the price.
Nice ambiance and excellent service otherwise!
The food was lovely - just a little shame one meal came later than the others. The guys serving us were great - but they were run off there feet. We have been before and will definitely visit again
Roast is always great. Service was fantastic. Our little puppy also had a great time!
I confirmed the table online the day before. We admittedly arrived 20 mins late for our table, however it was given away and nobody from the pub had even so much as called to check if we were coming. When I raised this and asked to have the table i was told by the manager 'it works both ways', implying I should have called them. I think sadly the Morgan has forgotten who the customer is in this situation.
I love this place so much as a local but feel like the food has become inconsistent and the service in the restaurant area isn't attentive enough. We waited to get a menu, rather than having one given to us as we came in. My fave fish and chips was soggy and didn't taste very fresh like it usually is.
Lovely local pub - great vibe, good service and delicious Sunday lunch. Plus points for giving us a lovely bright table facing the garden. Highly recommend!
Would definitely return. Staff seemed a little stretched and weren't quite as quick on the mark.
It might also be useful for them to have a pad or 2 to write down orders.
Great menu and outstanding staff in a great location. Only negatives were that the music was a bit loud to hold a conversation in the restaurant area and there seemed to be a lot of small flies around which wasn’t particularly nice.
Had a wonderful New Years Eve at the Pub staff very attentive, though some confusion on what was order and speed, it did not take away from the enjoyable evening we had.
The food was less than desirable with old reheated frozen prawns and and overly spicy prawn linguine meal. The service was slow and patchy and the bar area was far too loud and fed through to the dining area which made conversations between the 4 of us quite challenging.
A very nice place. I will definitely go again because of the nice staff amd nice layout. Would be even better if they had a wider range of beers and ciders
Very enjoyable evening. Would go back again staff attentive and food food.
The steak main was a bit fatty and the starter was small although paid extra for both so scored it down slightly. Overall a great local .
Overall a good experience. It was a busy evening and although there was initially some confusion as we were booked into the bar section rather than the restaurant, we were quickly shown to a table in the restaurant. Unfortunately the server wasn’t knowledgable of the drinks available, so I ended up getting a beer I wouldn’t have chosen had I known what else was on offer! Still, no biggie.
Most frustratingly, we were told after ordering that both our main courses were unavailable - fine, we chose something else. No problem. However, the table next to use who ordered roughly 20 minutes after us, requested the same meal as me and I was shocked to see that meal arrive at their table after being told they’d run out just an hour before. Very confusing! And it looked rather delicious.
Always reliably good. Lovely setting.
Good food in a cosy local pub. The Sunday lunches are definitely worth the trip
My fish and chips was OK. Fish batter burnt and therefore not tasty but my boyfriends flat iron chicken was very good. Always love this pub and ambience though and staff are lovely
By the time we got there (7.30pm) they'd sold out of a large proportion of the menu. The staff then seemed pretty non-plussed at the fact they had so little to offer us. All in all, a really disappointing experience.
Very good place for Sunday roast, very good quality/price food and selection of beers and wines. Highly recommended.
Great food and solid east end pub. One of my favourite pubs in London
Very good gastro pub food and good selection of wines.
Inexperienced staff, average food, shambles order. Asked for ‘optional’ tip to be taken off and we’re quite rudely challenged by the manager
