Everything was great but i did see a mouse scurry across the floor, also we had a 2 for 1 deal which made it great value but would be a little overpriced without the deal!
Lovely food but surprisingly for a wine specialist the rose wine wasn’t chilled despite my specifically saying it must be chilled. It seems to be a Davy problem because it was the same at the crusting pipe
Excellent steak and value with the opentable 2 for 1 deal. Would strongly recommend
Convenient place to meet near London Bridge infact under it! Set in the archways it has a great old pub atmosphere. Tables can be reserved but for 2 hour slot but no push for us to leave after this. I had cod which was a little disappointing as not a lot of flavour, my friends has sausages and mask which they say were fab so had food envy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would be happy to go again
They didn’t have our reservation when we arrived, the place was busy so we were lucky to get seated when we did. Nice enough food, especially the desserts! The service was polite but very slow, and then food took a good while as well. Not the best if you’re in a rush, but we wanted a chilled evening where we could stay at our table so worked out great for us!
I attended The Mug House with my family for dinner. The food was excellent, and our waiter & waitress were kind and attentive. Also the food was good value for money. Will attend again.
Reasonable pub food, nice looking old pub but very noisy in dining area.
Our favorite “local!” We love the smoked chicken Caesar salad. Great wine list and they will sell by the bottle for take away. All with the ambiance of an old London pub.
Always love it here! A standard favourite to meet friends after work.
Service was slow, had to go and ask to pay the bill it took so long.
Staff not knowledgeable about the menu and suggested burger was medium rare. Asked to check with chef who confirmed they do not half cook burgers (Thank goodness).
Overall expensive for what it was and I eat out in London a Lot.
Lovely meal, tasty and interesting. Exceptional value with vouchers, maybe a bit pricey without. Friendly, efficient service. Interesting location and natural ambience.
It was our bad luck to be there when a number of parties had taken over parts of the restaurant. Including some from the previous lunch time. And they cannot be held responsible for loud groups.
The food and wine were very good. The service was slow - painfully, they were obviously under-manned. Our waiter when he was with us was excellent, but it was the pain of having to remind him of drinks / speed.
I've been there other evenings and its been quiet and relaxing (even at the same time). Just bad luck. Will go back.
Very nice ambience. Not very busy tonight, and perhaps because of this the staff were very attentive.
Great place for a catch up with friends, good meal and friendly service.
Lively cellar bar with plenty of restaurant seating. Good, friendly service.
Painfully noisy - terrible acoustics.
Food would have been fine at half the price but not at the price.
Not going there again.
Very nice food - a bit pricey but good value with 241
Gus the waiter was brilliant. We couldn’t decide on which wine to choose so he brought us three tasters. We ended up buying the most expensive one but it was worth it.
Cosy place to eat, good food
Very good value with the 2 for 1 offer. Good service. Wine better than most other restaurants and reasonable value.
This is a great little pub tucked away under the arches of London Bridge. We had good pub food, cosy atmosphere.
Great hidden find in London!
A hidden doorway (found under a bridge) takes you into this, what feels like something out of a Charles Dickensian pub. Cosy and quaint atmosphere was great for a little friends’ get-together. Food was good value for money with the 2for1 offer. Definitely recommended for anyone wanting a quiet but cosy pub night out.
Nice venue, enjoyed the food and surroundings... service was good. Well worth visit
As always, the food was excellent, and great value, particularly with the deal. My only issue, which to many is perhaps a bonus, is the lack of phone signal, particularly as there during the day for a work lunch. It would not be difficult or expensive for them to resolve this. I know of many people who work close to the Mug House whose sole reason for not going is the fact that they are out of touch. Although this may seem sad to many, it is a fact of life these days.
It's worth going for the 2 for 1 offer as it works out a decent price otherwise I would go elsewhere. It doesn't seem to be busy though as its hidden away under London Bridge so lacks a bit of atmosphere but great if you want somewhere quiet!!
Very helpful staff in warm "pub" surroundings. So glad we found this place.
Very nice Dickinsian atmosphere. Be sure to ask for the small separate room with the table for four to six people for a nice place to have good conversation along with the very enjoyable food.
A great pub and the food impressed me. Location is likewise excellent.
Really nice place for dining with a Dickens style ambience. Food is very tasty, pub style but much better quality. Prices are a bit on the high side but with the 2 for 1 deal it’s a bargain. Nice wine list to fit all pockets. Excellent service from waiter Miguel, and friendly barman.
I have dined at The Mug House several times and it never fails to disappoint! We took advantage of the 2-for-1 mains offer which was excellent value for money. Our food was served promptly and the service was great as always. My only feedback is that I wasn't asked how I wanted my burger so it was a little too well done for my liking. Otherwise an enjoyable meal!
We returned for the fifth time to have a pre theatre meal at The Mug House as it is such a charming and quirky venue only a very short walk from London Bridge station. As usual the service was friendly and professional. We chose fish and chips and the halloumi salad for our mains, and the treacle tart and chocolate fudge cake for desserts. All were well cooked and presented and extremely tasty. The beer and wine was fairly priced for London. With the BOGOF offer the food was tremendous value. If you haven't visited this unique venue, don't hesitate to try it - you won't be disappointed.
This is a good place to know about. The 50% off special offer makes it value for money. Been here several times now over the past few years.
Had a lovely meal at the Mug House. Excellent value because of the promotion and good service.
Pleasantly surprised by the secret cavern of a restaurant area. Tucked literally under London Bridge, you think the Mug House is going to be a compact pub, but it curls under the arches of the bridge and there is a nice eating area. We pre-booked and the service and food was good and the 2 courses for the price of 1 made the overall bill very good value. Would go there again.
Great location full of history. We had the 2 for 1 offer when two or more courses are purchased, the price would have been too high for what we had without the offer, pate was good it was served with thin crisp sourdough bread and fresh pickles, then battered fish with chunky hand cut chips and a pea purée and sauce tartare all tasty and fresh. Sadly the price of the drinks let the meal down, especially the large pot of tea for 2 (£6.20)which had one standard size teabag in and therefore was very weak, there wasn’t staff around to ask for another teabag to make it drinkable. Overall a pleasant meal that if it had been full priced would have been classed as overpriced by us.
Had lunch at the Mug House with some friends over from Australia. The venue was great - very authentic old pub with nice decor touches. Food was good and the portions were generous. Overall a good place to eat.
After 3 days cooped up at home because of the snow a trip to The Mug House with a friend was just what my sanity needed. With the freezing temperatures outside it was nice to be somewhere warm and cosy with good wine, food and service for a natter with a friend. At the time we dined we were able to book a 2 for 1 offer on our food so it was excellent value too.
The pub was very busy and it took us a while to navigate through the drinking crowds to get to the restaurant section. When we arrived at the restaurant section, there was no one was around to greet us so we wandered about and found the table we had reserved. There was only 1 x waitress for the restaurant and 2 x ad hoc bar staff who helped her bring over some drink orders. This place is nothing special, just a normal pub with average food, but they definitely need to hire more restaurant staff as it was rather difficult to get any sort of service during our meal - it was too busy for just one person to do everything !!
Great hidden pub (with traditional looks!) under the arches
Service was excellent and overall feel of the place is good
