The North London Tavern
The dining room features a fresh, seasonal menu with daily changing cask ales & international wines.
We love the relaxed atmosphere at the North London Tavern, and the décor is a chic mix of chandeliers, old leather Chesterfield sofas and an old wood-panelled bar.
Drinks were nice however food was a let down. Arrived for Sunday roast at 2pm and only one vegetarian roast left. Chicken was dry and roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding poorly cooked.
Service was rather slow - would not rush back
Used to be my local 5 years ago
Food boring no taste and limited menu
Not value for money
Shame used to be great
We had a meal on Saturday 10/08/19 at 7:30pm, we are regulars customers to the North London Tarvern and weren't disappointed as usual. The food was amazing and the wine (picpoul de Pinet) excellent, the dessert beautifully made.
We were served by Isabella who was a delight to talk to. She was very efficient, proactive, friendly and professional.
She was a true brand ambassador for the North London Tarvern.
It was average-nothing to write home about. Unfortunately the ladies toilets absolutely stank-serious plumbing issues
The table we’d organised via OpenTable was not reserved (not sure where the breakdown in technology was) but there was plenty of space so not a big problem. The waitress appeared stressed, and the service at the table was somewhat lacking, but we were later told that there was a big private party who had overrun their stay, so they were a bit understaffed. Nice food, and friendly bar staff. As an aside, the toilets could do with refurbishing.
Lovely Sunday lunches. Good food all round and great for a pre-Wembley lunch.
A very enjoyable Sunday lunch at a local pub conveniently situated to Kilburn. We went home fully replete!
Great little spot with fantastic food and equally as fantastic prices and service. Been here several times before and will likely visit several times more in the future.
We are regulars from the pub & this time we came especially for the Fish & Chips (with my partner we had the vegan one & my friends the normal one). No one was disappointed, we enjoyed our evening. Thank you so much to the lovely lady who served us - she just started that day and we forgot to ask for her name to mention it here =)
Very good, full of football fans on the day in question. Not complaining, I was one of them!
We had lunch here on Saturday en route to Wembley stadium as it was handy for Kilburn station (Jubilee line) and we wanted to avoid the crowds around Wembley park! The dining area was in a pleasant, high ceilinged room and we were warmly welcomed on arrival. Food took a while to materialise, but when it did, it was delicious and obviously all freshly cooked. The flat iron chicken with wild mushrooms was particularly nice. Would highly recommend if you're not in a hurry
I love this pub. The staff are friendly, the beer is good and they do amazing Sunday roasts!
Great atmosphere and good beer.
Food was average for the price.
Remarkably good food considering its location in Kilburn. Nice dining room and very attentive service. Food was tasty and well-prepared. Several vegan options too. Quick service if you are visiting the Kiln Theatre for a show.
Very disappointed with menu no vegetarian or healthy options salads?? - Fried food & chips with everything. Ghastly.
I can't believe that we were charge £15.00 in service charge, all the staff did was bring three plates of food and four drinks. If you can not afford to paid your staff correctly then it should be self services. I will not be going there again.
This used to be a fabulous gastropub. When I went the other day, I couldn't understand why it was so quite - for a while. The service was pretty poor and the food was average. For the high value of the meal, this made it very poor value. Better to go to the meditarranean restaurant a few doors down - far cheaper and better food!
Excellent standard pubfare
Strangely quiet for Friday night so atmosphere not as buzzy as we were expecting. I had been here several times previously over a decade ago and the Menu was more limited than I remember from visiting in the past and the food was ok but nothing memorable.
Visited from Hertfordshire to attend Tall Tales evening on Nov. 27th. Ate in comfort in the restaurant and one of us enjoyed a steak, cooked superbly to order and the other enjoyed the butterflied boneless poussin which again was suitably cooked and delicious. The bottle of wine we ordered was also very palatable indeed. The staff were great and the whole experience set us up well for the remarkable performances in the room upstairs afterwards.
Too expensive for what it was. We had chicken burger and fish cakes with chips, a glass of red and a coke. £42. Food was fine but not outstanding.
We were celebrating both my birthday and my dad's birthday, we had a really nice service and loved the food too ! thanks a lot!
Delicious food, great service, excellent wine and quiet atmosphere on the dining side of the pub. Beautiful venue.
Was quite unfortunate - though the food was decent the staff were all over the place (and it want busy at all). They forgot to put in one of our orders so one had to wait while they did a whole roast for her. Our sticky toffee puddings arrived cold. We complained and they forgot to reduce our bill and charged service! We had to ask again about a reduction to the bill and they only took off a minimal amount. They were nice and the food was tasty when we finally got it. Could have just been an off day but wasn’t great!
Loved my visit, food, drinks and service was all fab!
This review is actually for a larger booking for my 50th birthday party, which was booked and organised direct with the North London Tavern. As a regular to the venue I knew that they would do a good job but I was blown away by the result. From the ease of organising a large celebration to the fabulous and very special food, and the flawless implementation of the evening I cannot recommend highly enough. The team are very friendly, helpful and accommodating, and the chef did a fabulous job. Thank you for making this a very memorable special birthday.
I took some friends for a Sunday lunch and the North London Tavern has some new fans! Delicious food, friendly helpful staff and lovely pub.
Great food, fish and chips amazing
One of my favorite pubs, and the food is usually very good as well. Recently the menu seems to have been reduced somewhat, and the dishes less adventurous than I recall, but there is still a good selection of well cooked food available. The pub itself and the dining area are very pleasant, and the service was, as usual, friendly and attentive. The only slight fly in the ointment on this occasion was that -in addition to TVs in the bar area- they had erected a huge projection screen in the dining area for the football. I like football, and I appreciate this is just a temporary arrangement for the World Cup, but I go into a restaurant to eat and talk to companions, not be distracted by an enormous screen flickering away in the background - also diners near the screen are being ogled by the viewers which must be a bit off-putting. I will definitely be going back however as it's a great venue.
We’ve been going to the North London Tavern restaurant since it opened maybe 12 years ago or more
It’s a lovely neighbourhood pub and we’ve had some very nice food there.
What lets it down time after time is the service
They never have enough waiting staff, and on our most recent visit it took about 40 mins to get our food - and the restaurant was not particularly busy
Our waitress Xenia was excellent but she could have done with some assistance
The food was good, not haute cuisine but good modern gastro pub grub
But as before we were on the verge of walking out as it took so long to get our dinner
The NLT could be great but they need to invest in more staff
Perfectly reasonable - relaxed and efficient - good friendly service - food above pub food average. We went at 6pm when the pub is obviously quite noisy - didn't bother us, might bother some.
Food was very tasty but the portions are very small ...
A few dishes on the menu were not available and service was decent but not warm. Would not be in a hurry to go back.
The lamb shank I had was good but over priced.
Spacious pub with great food a excellent, friendly service
Bustling pub with great Guinness. Its not a romantic evening out but is a great place to go with friends. Lovely staff, good food and a good wine list. Thanks for a great evening!
I got a bit disappointment whit the quality of the food, very simple and not that tasty.
Decent setting a good menu. Unfortunately the food is overpriced for what it is, the seabass in particular was tiny and had very little chorizo/samphire as described. Service was awful, maybe they were understaffed on Friday but once the food came we didn't see anyone again! Had to clear our own plates in the end, as did neighbouring table, onto an empty table. Shame, is otherwise a nice enough pub.
This is my local so I might be slightly biased but I ate in the restaurant tonight after a long hiatus and was very pleasantly impressed with the food and the service. Will be returning soon!
The North London Tavern used to be good. They're food is excellent and the service was ok. Unfortunately, this time round, the restaurant said they had messed up bookings and I'd have to wait 20 minutes for a table, despite arriving on time for my reservation. I won't return to The North London Tavern.
Such lovely ambience and amazing service!! Would highly recommend. Baked Camembert was delish but pass on the fish and chips.
