Well, get dressed not stressed, as The Old Bank Brasserie is the perfect venue. It's a gift. A uniquely intimate lounge bar with its own bar and an attentive team will create the special sparkle you, your friends and family deserve.
We also present a great business case for meetings. Somewhere you, your colleagues and clients can look after business while we look after you.

Why not meet for drinks first, enjoy the live music, choose from an array of sumptuous cocktails or explore a delectable bottle of wine from our extensive menu.
This place is fabulous! I come here at least every Sunday as they have the best roast in Swindon. Also great at the weekend for grazing and cocktails and then on to the upper floors into the night. Staff are also fabulous, especially Doug who always goes above and beyond providing the best service!
The Sunday roast was delicious and the service was excellent.
Great night with lovely food.
The food was outstanding, we've eaten there before and it didn't disappoint. The service however was outstanding. Sadly I didn't know the waiters name but he was fabulous.
It's a restaurant but is not going to be in my top 10 restaurants that i have been in the past
First visit to The old bank , we had family visiting us from Guernsey and London so read good reviews from this place so thought we would give it a go . We had a lovely evening and fabulous food everything was delicious . The service was perfect couldn't fault it , we had a very pleasant happy waiter .
Would deff return .
Great ...but the menu on line does not reflect the menu in the restaurant and we were told it was out of date....pity actually as we chose the food before we got there and it was not available
the staff were great and the food was perfect but disappointed that they cannot update their own site with a currant menu
Had an evening meal for a small birthday celebration. Lovely food, well presented and affordable. Service is excellent, ask as many questions about the finished dish and/or how chew made it and they can answer. Nothing is too much trouble, and service always with a smile.
I've been here three times and it's always been great, unfortunately after this last visit I found myself violently sick two hours later. I had seafood that tasted wonderful so I can neither attribute this to the meal or rule it out but I will be selecting a different dish when I return.
Charming service, excellent and imaginative food - compliments to the chef- reasonably priced.
Good outside seating area. In addition the restaurants location in Old Town is ideal, with plenty of parking close bye.
We have visited before, and will be visiting again on our next visit to Swindon.
Great food, the lamb fell apart beautifully. Great service, our waiter was very attentive
A lovely meal which my Mum enjoyed for her birthday. The food was delicious and the service was excellent, it was just very noisy as there was a party of people at the downstairs bar (to watch the football?) which may have been better if they were in the upstairs area away from the people who just wanted a quiet meal.
Good food and good service, would definitely go again.
Great food and service
We are a family of 4 with 2 children under 7 years old. We went for Sunday lunch on Farther's Day, we had 2 courses which included the meat boards which were amazing plus we each had a pudding which was also amazing. We will be back soon.
The Old Bank was my very first meal upon arriving in Swindon for business. It is a lovely building with great ambiance and very professional and attentive staff. I had the pork terrine starter which was delicious followed by the tuna entree which was cooked perfectly and served over a bed of vegetables. Amazing flavors, definitely a lovely dining experience.
Been to the old bank before and had a fab meal, however this time the food was terrible from starter to pudding. The staff did resolve the problem by not charging for any of the food to be fair however I would not recommend this restaurant
We went to celebrate completing the 2016 moonwalk that morning.
The food was amazing and it was nice that the chef came out and had a chat gave it more of a personal feel.
The staff were very pleasent and friendly.
My only critisicism was that we booked a 3.30pm table as we were not sure what we time we would be back from London and felt towards the end we had to rush our cocktail because the bill was bought out as they were closing and she said next time it would be better if we came earlier-we normally would have it was just because we couldn't guarantee getting back from London by a set time-might be an idea to let people know if they take this booking in future.
Will definitely back for food and very good value for money.
Visited on a weekday evening with my partner. The server was welcoming and friendly, the whole place looks good and has a lovely vibe.
The food was gorgeous and presented beautifully.
I can not wait to go back and try some more dishes.
I hadn't been in for a meal for over a year. The previous occasion was a Christmas meal with work colleagues and every course was a delight and served promptly which was great as it was a large group at a busy time.
This time, it was just me and a friend and we enjoyed the evening just as much, going for just a main course. I guess my only quibble would be that there was only one vegetarian main and there seems to be the popular assumption with restaurants that every veg dish has to involve goats cheese! Luckily I eat fish and very much enjoyed the stone bass. It was cooked perfectly and the dish was put together with finesse.
Will heading back soon as Mum is desperate to try it.
It's a nice touch when chef comes to your table to ask if you liked his food. Doesn't happen often these days. Beautifully prepared, great combinations of flavour, perfectly cooked. Excellent service from helpful waitress.
Having been a fan of the Old Bank, I was disappointed with the latest visit. The menu has completely changed as has the way the food is served. I used to really enjoy the veg etc being served in a side dish but this is not the case anymore - definitely Al la carte......... portions very small and in my opinion over priced..
We visited the restaurant on a recommendation and overall we thought it was OK. There was a lack of atmosphere in the restaurant which was the only real negative. It feels very much like a bar with tables to the side, so lacks the feeling of a restaurant - the lack of table cloths also seemed to add to that feeling. Not a place for a dinner for two, probably better suited to groups of friends who are drinking first and then want to eat.
I've eaten at the Old bank several times but today the food was very average and the service was very slow.
Starter felt like they just nipped out to co-op and chucked it on a plate. That was when they actually brought out what we ordered and not something we hadn't ordered. Main had ingredients in it not mentioned on menu. The rest felt a bit like ping food and not fresh.
Several drunks were randomly wondering around interupting diners and leaving doors open for the rain to come in.
As a group of varying aged friends we always find the Old Bank very accommodating and it must not be confused with the different animal it is after 9pm!
There is always a mixture of young and old when we take coffee or lunch there. The staff are very attentive but not overpowering and the quality of the drinks is good. However, if you ask for a cup of tea it comes with a tea bag in a cup unless one asks for a teapot, which is then readily provided.
Breakfast is a little expensive but strikes af good, local ingredients and feels/tastes wholesome and 'real'.
There is a glazed roof area at the rear which is lovely and light with individual tables for four, and also a sun garden which again is a very enjoyable place to sit although maybe gets a little forgotten by the waiting staff.
Overall I would rate this as excellent and it is always our first choice for coffee in Old Town.
Shuts on a Monday, no food available afternoons until after 6pm
Food was ok, but not great. I have eaten here a few times and this was the worst. I think it needs to be put down to being Christmas and they were very busy with Christmas parties. We were sat right at the front by the door and there were a lot of comings and goings so we had to sit with our coats on as it was so cold.
A little disappointed as normally have a pleasant evening when we come here.
The entertainment although very good, far too loud for an ambient dining experience, but we took our daughter for her 18th birthday and she loved it. For a busy December evening the staff did an excellent job. The food was good and the pan fried chicken was an excellent choice. My son found the ribeye not to his liking, but a filet would probably have been a better choice for steak. Good gastro dining and tasty.
I had the venison, cooked perfectly, the balance of the veg and the juniper sauce really full of flavour.
TheCrab risotto was excellent. We had the chocolate moose and Bakewell tart desserts. All home made and full of flavour
I chose The Old Bank as I had 2 American visitors and wanted somewhere trendy with nice food and good atmosphere. We all enjoyed our dinner and persuaded the American's to go for something they wouldn't get at home which was the bangers & mash with onion gravy which they loved!! Good & friendly service and we didn't have to wait long for our food.
Booked a table for myself and two friends for my birthday, and I was really pleased I did! The food was excellent, I had the duck and it was cooked perfectly, great service too. Definatly will be going back maybe even for the Christmas menu,
We were very impressed with the choice on the menu. The food was excellent and well presented. The atmosphere was ok due to the location of tables, would definately recommend this restaurant
3 of us dined. Food was great, service perfect...
I have eaten here a number of times with friends in the evening and we've always thoroughly enjoyed it. However, this is the first time I've been at lunchtime and I was disappointed. I specifically booked a table because we had limited time as we had to return to work, but when we arrived we were told that there wasn't a table available. We had to wait for half an hour. The service was then quite slow and it took longer than expected for the food to arrive. The food was good though. We asked the waitress for the bill and she had to be reminded. Not my best experience and I will probably stick to evenings in future.
Unfortunately Swindon lacks a great choice of decent restaurants. The old Bank provides a nice environment for a nice meal. The service was good, and the staff for helpful and polite. I wasn't blown away but it was good food at a good price.
Saturday 19th April - 3rd time dining here........ food is fabulous. I had a steak medium rare. its up there with fine dining :)
Booked a table for an exam celebration. Food was outstanding and kitchen were happy to exchange smoked salmon for salmon fillet with no quibbles. Food was outstanding and was able to chat without having to shout over music.
The service is always exceptional here even when we just go for coffee & the homemade shortcake biscuits melt in the mouth! The breakfasts/brunches (until 12 noon) are excellent and all 'real' produce cooked exactly to ones liking. However, we had not had Sunday lunch there until last week. We all had two courses, which was all good - I had sea bass which was moist and delicious & all others had roasts, which were huge! As for desserts two people said it was the best sticky toffee pudding they had ever had and it was worth coming just for that. Plenty of drinks, two courses and coffees came to £106 for six. Nice atmosphere accompanied by a (very loud) live sax player and pianist - the whole experience was spot on. Would recommend.
We reserved a table for Saturday 15th February, which we were thankful for, because when we arrived every table was full. The food is good quality, had the rib-eye steaks and they were cooked as we requested. The waitresses were friendly and helpful. If there was any fault, it would be the chips, they were like pre-formed potato, which were dry and gave us indigestion. What does it take to do a real chip these days? Apart from that pleased with everything.
The choice on the set menu was excellent. Good value for money. Shame about the small lounge area. Ceiling was damaged and repaired with chip board by our table. ... not very pleasant to see.
Having arrived at 8pm we were shown to the back of the restaurant the seating was not to my liking sat by the rear exit with smokers in and out every 15mins and waiters in and out getting bottles of wine from their store with winds very high one gets a cold draft, on the plus side food was good service could of been better, my wife asked for a napkin from one waitress another waitress turned up then asked if we wanted something to order!
