The Old Dairy
One of the best roasts I’ve eaten out, ever. Everything was delicious.
Lovely food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff - will definitely go back again.
Great for a big family get together
Oldest 85 years youngest 2 weeks !!!!
Everyone enjoyed it - the roast beef is just delicious, also let us cut our own birthday cake. Really love going there -also good wine list
A perfectly acceptable Sunday roast, not the best I have ever had but above average and the roast potatoes excelled. Service was acceptable too, not over and above but the staff were friendly and I have no real complaints. It kind of does what it should, decent food at a decent price.
Acrchicken and horrible service
Decent pub for a Sunday roast, with great vegetarian options, which is wonderful being a vegetarian. Great ambience, friendly staff.
Great pub for the young and old. Great menu and really lovely and accommodating staff.
Very disappointing experience for Sunday lunch yesterday. Used to dine here regularly years ago but standards have definitely slipped. Took my elderly parents for a nice Sunday roast but endured a catalogue of errors. We were sat in the empty dining room by the window which was freezing. We ordered 4 roasts, two were stone cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen. The roast chicken had amazing sounding accompaniments however on arrival I received a tiny chipotla no bigger than my little finger, a small pot of stone cold bread sauce and no stuffing as promised. The service was shocking and very slow. The waitress didn’t know what the soup of the day was or what ales were available at the bar, she didn’t even bother to find out and we had to guess what might be on tap. At the end of our meal we decided to leave after main course, after 2 long hours table service I was informed I needed to take my bill round to the bar and pay there. I had to queue up with all the other Sunday drinkers and wait my turn to pay for my terrible meal. So many simple things, so so wrong. Will not be returning any time soon.
Half the menu options were 'off'.
The table service was just incredibly and unbelievably rude (actually aggressive!) and careless.
The female toilets were out of order with no sign, only exploration discovered a disabled toilet, with no working lock, 'repurposed' with a torn off piece of notepad paper as 'Ladys'.
Shocking because what food was available was delicious, and the place was busy and had a good ambience.
We did receive a decent apology from the manager after complaining, and 'waived' the discretionary service charge...
Lovely meal on NYE. The staff were really attentive, food cooked to perfection. Made a great start to me and my partners NYE celebrations.
Very nice fish and chips, and desserts - and the service was friendly- plus excellent selection of London beers - great stuff!
Good food, had a roast that was well prepared, portioned and most importantly hot and fresh.
Really though it was the staff that made it. Helpful, friendly and competent.
Best roast in North London and excellent value for money. A local gem. Staff very friendly and attentive.
Overall nice place with great beer but the beef ribs were the worst beef ribs I've ever eaten in a restaurant, either frozen or just poor quality meat. I wouldn't be in a hurry to go back to eat here
We had a great meal. We were the only people in the restaurant and couldn’t work out why but the staff were great, the meal was great and it was great value for money. Really enjoyed ourselves.
A gastro pub that seems to have lost it’s way. Saturday night, far from a full restaurant area, served by a young man who must have been on his first shift or on work experience, assisted by a woman who was competent and fine to deal with. Took ages to get the food, which was up to the standard expected, and then, when it came to an after dinner drink, no limoncello - a current favourite - or Drambuie - an old favourite. Not a cheap place. Agreed to pay the 12.5% service charge after assurances it all goes to the staff, including the kitchen. One of our group said it has been losing customers to the recently refurbished pub just up the road. Easy to see why
Food was very good - compliments to the chefs. We’ll be back again very soon.
Booked a table to watch the FA Cup Final, great table reserved. Have great drinks and food. I was there with my family included two kids and they we were made to to feel very welcome. As locals we will not come back for sure in the future, especially for live sport. Great spot.
The food was great and the dining room was very quiet. We had Sunday roasts, the pork belly was great, with lovely sides. The beef was a bit fatty and tough.
Great wine list but sadly the sancerre we chose wasn't chilled, so we swapped for a very nice Marlborough sauv. bl.
Definitely will come back!
Went with my daughter and young granddaughter - it’s perfect lots of space and very relaxed. I had been taken recently on Mother’s day and that was excellent too
Great Sunday lunch
Excellent service in a pleasant atmosphere - busy but not noisy. Plenty of space. Some food very good e.g. whitebait and calamari starter; other food OK e.g. double burger. Reasonable prices for both food and wine. A good local eatery.
Booked dinner with my family who were visiting London. Was recommended the old dairy and wanted somewhere local. Sadly, safe to say I will not be back. First time I’ve ever refused to pay the service charge!
My main issue was 2 members of the restaurant staff sat watching iPad and eating at table behind us at back of restaurant, there was only one other girl on who wasn’t around when we had been served but had been missing some of our order. Struggled to get service all night - had to keep looking around trying to get attention. Staff had bags of chocs/sweets along with rubbish dumped at their table. I fully understand staff need breaks, but surely not taken at the same time or in front of restaurant customers. Overall poor management experience during our visit. No uniform to smarten staff up or make them more noticeable. I think I noticed a group of about 6/8 people leaving swiftly without eating.
When I asked to remove the service charge the bar man onliged and asked me why we were unhappy, I explained but when I went back to table to get coats he was already giving out to one of the staff members in the middle of the restaurant - atleast keep the feedback for after service. Disappointment and poorly run.
Delicious food and impeccable service made eating at the Old Dairy a glorious Sunday lunch date - top tip: leave some space for dessert if sweet things are your bag.
Very nice pub :) I recommend it to everyone who wants to have a nice night :)
Friendly local pub with tasty food and wide range of choices including good vegetarian options.
The dairy is consistently a good place to dine and the menu offers something or everyone. I really like the choice of wines on offer and there is a good selection of beers to choose from
Great local pub. Lots of different spaces to sit. Although it's a big pub it still has a cosy feel. Good food and attentive service.
Always have a good night out at the Old Dairy. Nice mix of cosy and space to move and the wine and food are great.
A busy venue where one had to avoid the large sports screen showing football. The Sunday lunch was mediocre. As a starter, I had a portobello mushroom that was surrounded by wilted vegetables. By wilted, I make no reference to the culinary process involved. They were old, as was the radish that sprawled alongside my dining companion's harissa hummus. I had chewy beef that consisted of far too much fat and gristle. Not to be recomended.
Had a very enjoyable evening here - nice food and service. We’ll go again
Sunday roast and wider menu was outstanding. Highly recommend.
Friendly people, nice space, good food - sorted! B--)
Highly recommend Sunday roast! Was delicious! Amazing food and great value! Chicken and beef were cooked to perfection!
And super delicious desert!
Would definitely come back again
Awesome! One of the best Sunday dinners I've had. Didn't mind the price at all. There was football on in the bar but nobody was being loud and we didn't hear a thing while eating. Love this place
Lovely pub with really good food and in a friendly setting. Nice for an occasion or just a few drinks. Very cosy inside. Friendly stuff. Good choice of various drinks. Would definitely recommend
We ate in the restaurant as on Monday evening you can take your own wine. It had not been explained to me beforehand although I had spoken to them twice about the booking that you have to take one bottle between two and all eat main courses. In fact it as was fine as three of us shared one bottle, one person took a bottle which was less than half full and the other two took their bottle home unfinished. As long as you have the right number of bottles on the table it doesn't seem to matter. (This seems as if we are not drinkers - we had already sat in the bar with purchased wine!)
The people who had fish and chips were disappointed - apparently it was not as good as remembered. The mushy peas were just a sloppy purée in a bowl. One person had fish with spices - very good. Two others had spa salad - delicious with lots of fruit, crunchy chickpeas, avocado.
The waitress was a bit officious to begin with over the wine but then was very charming and helpful throughout the rest of the meal.
Booked a table for 6 people for 6pm on a Thursday, post matinee at the Park Theatre. Was rated by all as excellent - the spacious pub, spacious separate dining areas (with chandeliers!), the friendly & efficient staff, and the well-presented and very tasty food! Highly recommended.
Simply the best. The Old Dairy never disappoints. Food is great and so is the wine list!!
We had starters which were nice but the main steak meal was not great. The potatoe brick was unappealing as was the marrow bone ( the dog enjoyed that later).
The steak was not great quality.
We wanted great fish and chips and got great fish and chips.
The Old Dairy is a staple go too place when you want some good, wholesome, well prepared and presented food.
