The Olde Dog Inn at Herongate Tye is a picturesque Essex weather boarded inn. Known to date from the early 16th century, the pub has been serving good beer and food for hundreds of years. A wealth of traditional features greets you upon arrival with low-beamed ceilings, exposed fireplaces and a friendly atmosphere.

Once again The Olde Dog Inn has been voted by OpenTable diners as one of the best. Thank you so much to all our customers that dined with us and left a review.

*Bookings for tables of more than 6 people require a £10pp deposit which will be deducted from your bill on the day. Please note that deposits are non-refundable. If more that 48 hours’ notice is given for cancellation, we will be happy to move your deposit to a future booking or provide a gift voucher for the amount.

Very pleasant ambience, friendly and helpful staff, good selection of beers in the bar, good selection of food in the restaurant and the food we had was delicious, plenty of parking available, large pub garden. Can’t criticise anything so would definitely recommend The Olde Dog at Herongate.

A lovely Sunday lunch for Mothers Day. The food was great and so was the service. Lovely friendly staff. The food was very reasonable, freshly cooked and delicious.
