Amazing food and service! I truly hope they survive this Corona setback
Great service, wonderful food. Made us very welcome
Excellent food, with very good wine pairings, helped by friendly and attentive service.
Lived up to all expectations. Great value for money tasting menu with some great dishes!
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyed the evening
Fantastic food on the tasting menu. Lovely staff.
It's the first time we've made it back since they gained their Michelin star and it's lovely to see that the kitchen is still firing on all cylinders. Fabulous meal and great wine choices too!
A tasting menu that is more than just a delicious morsel. Wonderfully generous.
The tasting menu was great. I eat gluten free so they made all the dishes for me gluten free.
Really good restsurant
Lovely food, pleasant environment and friendly service. Great way to celebrate a significant birthday with my wife.
Small, intimate but with enough customers to give a nice atmosphere. First class food and attentive but not intrusive service. In particular Mike (sommelier) was brilliant in explaoining the wines and aslo in engaging about other drinks. Highly recommended.
The seven courses all had truly delicious food. The wine pairings which two of us
shared were nicely chosen, we especially liked the Pinot Noir. All in all, it was a
memorable experience for over four hours, the service was unobstrusive and we
cannot wait to return and repeat the gastronomical experience. We were given
a booth as requested which gave us more privacy and enabled us to enjoy an
intimate personal discussion.
Very very good but not excellent , hence the 4 stars. Service was excellent with professional and passionate staff. Just a couple of minor things with two of the courses were a little bit disappointing but overall the food was very good.
If only once in your lifr, experience food like this
Brilliant meal and a great dining experience. Expensive so highly recommended for special occasion.
Went to Oxford Kitchen for Valentines Day and was not disappointed. The food was amazing and the ambience was very relaxed. Not pretentious like you may find in other Michelin star rated restaurants, so that was nice. The waiters and waitresses were attentive and knowledgeable and we had a very good evening. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Oxford who love their food and wine.
Excellent Valentine’s Day menu. Enjoyed being in the quieter room upstairs. Very good service. Great food.
We ate already several times at the Oxford Kitchen and we had always excellent food
We heard it was good - and it was very very good - perfect for a celebratory night out
Set lunch menu.
You need to ask for this menu as it isn’t offered to you at the start.
Amuse-bouche are excellent tiny parcels that are full of flavour bouncing on the tongue and tickle your taste buds. Then it all went down hill after all the promises of flavour disappeared a lack lustre celeriac starter followed by lamb ragu main that was dominated by caramelised onions, there was no flavour of lamb at all.
Extremely good food, the service was excellent. Not overly formal for a Michelin star restaurant, which made it very welcoming
Outstanding food in selection, precooking, cooking and service - first class - wonderful. Perhaps two wines or three maximum more usual - wine matching a constant surprise .
Wonderful tasting menu. Exquisite combinations of flavours and textures. We had a fantastic meal
Stunning !! Stunning food, stunning service. It was our third visit and we will be back soon....
Great place for a special occasion. Food was divine and excellent service. Highly recommendes
Food was fantastic - best we have had outside of London in a long while. Service was solid. Unfortunately location wise we were in the front on the restaurant and suffered from being too close to the (often left open by customers) door with its blasts of freezing cold air and on a table at an angle that put is in deafening earshot of a raucous table of 4 to the point that we could barely hear one another. As their drinking and mood escalated our overall experience declined. Seating tables at 90 degree angles is not advised for this very reason.
Was really disappointed with our anniversary meal. We have eaten at a lot of Michelin star restaurant and this was by far the worst. The food took a very long time to come out, nearly half an hour between courses so we were there for over 3 hours. The food was ok but nothing special. One of the courses was chicken which when I cut into it looked undercooked, I checked with the waitress who wasn’t sure so took it back to the kitchen. They confirmed that it was slow cooked so I assumed they would just bring out another but in fact they swapped the dish to a vegetarian dish without asking and I didn’t like. I then asked to have the chicken which they did do but took over half an hour to receive. Overall not a great experience which was a shame as we don’t get to go out often
Booked for NYE and had to pay the full amount in advance. This was something I had not experienced before, but happily paid in anticipation. Atmosphere was lacking, I had pre ordered the vegetarian menu but given meat options. They had run out of Prosecco and replaced with a house champagne, which wasn’t anymore special sadly. The wine waitress was very friendly and gave good service. Considering the cost I expected a lot more from a Michelin star restaurant, which has left me realising it’s not always just about the status.
Having been excited to try the oxford kitchen for quite some time my partner treated us for New Year’s Eve. We’ve eaten at Michelin star restaurants before and were completely baffled as to how this place has managed to achieve one.
The food was fine, but considering the price attached, we were expecting much more than ‘fine’. Other Michelin star restaurants we have eaten at have been incredible, with food which is second to none, and service which was impeccable in attention to detail. This place lacked in both areas!
The service was appalling- the woman in the black suit who seemed to be running the service was incredibly moody, I’m not sure she managed to crack a smile the entire night and acted as though we were a nuisance for being there. We were never asked if we would like another drink and had to constantly flag down wait staff to take drink orders.
When the bill arrived we felt the service charge which had been added was unjustified given the level of service we received. The service charge was £35, we paid £25 (still too much in my opinion) to which we were told was not enough money and we had to pay more! We refused. We are both incredibly disappointed that this was our experience. How they have managed to maintain a Michelin star is beyond both of us and I would urge the restaurant to reflect on the quality of this service urgently.
New Year’s Eve hit and miss.
Food was great flavours wise however the portions just seemed a bit too small I understand Michelin star food but just value for money I can’t justify £115 on what we had when most expensive protein was a small sliver of duck which needed some sort of potato on the dish. Never less food was good for what we had just can’t justify the money for it.
Service... bit slow to start got going fine then after the third course which I believe was the duck, staff disappeared into thin air just two runners on the floor and we felt like we were forgotten about and service from then took forever. No one was asked if we wanted dessert wines for the desserts, I would of loved one but I was not asked and service was far too slow to even ask.
Overall disappointing second time here first great this time not, will I return? Probably not.
Wonderful and imaginative food. Not insane prices. £69 for 7 course tasting menu. Very reasonable for a Michelin Star.
Front of house staff are great, welcoming and warm and attentive.
One of the best and relaxed Michelin Star restaurants I have been to. Would highly recommend for couples or group bookings.
Interesting menu, all courses were absolutely tasty and well presented. Smashing cocktails.
Stunning tasting menu, with some innovative and complex flavour and texture combinations.
