Really lovely ambience, smell, service. My husband was given a wonderful birthday desert. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Menu particularly good across all courses with choices difficult to make. Quality of the food was first rate with service to match.
Excellent food and an enjoyable experience overall. Waiting staff could be better trained and listen more. Noise levels were high but attributed to one particularly boisterous table. Recommendable for food.
Enjoyed a lovely evening with friends, great food, excellent service, very nice ambiance
Food was good although expensive for portion sizes.
We were taken to our table after ordering our food in the bar.
Bread was already on the table, which we hadn’t asked for but were obviously charged for. Our meals arrived straight away so no chance to eat the bread before our main meal.
At no point were we offered any water for the table. It just felt like we were being rushed.
Excellent food and wonderful service and atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, even if it was a bit expensive
Best Sunday lunch for a long time. Good relaxing atmosphere with efficient service and very tasty food served with a smile. Good value for money will be back soon. Thank you everyone.
Beautifully cooked food, served quickly - perfect for a working lunch
Excellent food and service
Unbelievable service wine and venue well done the packhorse
Booked for Sunday lunch and the food and service was excellent as usual (4th time we've been). I can thoroughly recommend The Packhorse.
We visited for a Sunday lunch. I had the roast pork I was a little disappointed with two very thin slices of pork which was not overly tender and served only just warm. The rest of our party had roast beef which they all thoroughly enjoyed. The rest of the meal was delicious and am looking forward to returning sometime in the near future.
Lovely building and staff. Food was OK, but not outstanding in terms of flavour. Some dishes bland, others over spiced.
The Packhorse had the warmest atmosphere and the staff were all delightful and helpful
I really enjoyed the evening, service was brilliant, food was lovely and a good price range.
Absolutely lovely stay with amazing food. Will definitely be returning soon!
Lovely pub - good food, service, ambience, very kind and willing staff. Liked it so much we are going to stay there in a couple of months!
Really welcoming and couldn’t fault their service and quality of food!
We have eaten here lots but not for over 6 months and this was by far the best meal we have had here.
Great Restuarant & the food was spot on! Love this place!
We love the Packhorse Inn so when my friends came to stay at the weekend I knew I wanted to take them.
I have never been on a Sunday before and it was a little busier than I was expecting so I'm glad we booked!
I love the atmosphere in the pub - it's a lovely mix of cosy and grand - the fire was on and it smelt of burning wood and delicious food!
I had the Roast Beef and it was incredible - best roast dinner I have ever had!
The Packhorse continues to be my favourite (for a special occasion!) and I can't wait to visit again.
Went for girlfriends birthday meal really good service and food, really nice place nicely decorated for Christmas
Lovely setting and festive mood. Good food. Thank you!
Nice venue, actual meal prices not too badly priced for some, but some overpriced and very little for the money ie the salmon portion is shocking. The extras are far too expensive a portion of sprouts an example. It is only a pub after all. Very sorry to say as we do like it but the little things let it down.
Very welcoming inn with open fire and Sunday papers to mull over while waiting for friends. Food delicious though starter a bit small. Salmon cooked to perfection. An ideal end to Christmas!
Nice place to go. Always very friendly and the food is always to a very high standard. Wine is good which is why’ve go there!!
Fantastic food and service from one of our favourite restaurants locally.
Quality of food was good, nicely presented and a great deal better than on my last visit a few months ago. The price is on the high side, but this is compensated by the fact that it is very nice and properly seasoned. A small rail to assist the less mobile with the couple of steps would be appreciated.
A very enjoyable lunch in lovely surroundings for a family group that don’t meet very often.. from the moment we walked in with drinks at the bar to the moment when we all left ...the dining experience was first class !! We particularly loved the smoked salmon starter and the beef shin along with the plum pudding and delicious ice cream ! Compliments to the chef all round !! the bottle of St Emilion too was a wonderful wine ! Thank you and keep up the high standard you have set !!
Friendly, efficient staff made the lunch all the more memorable ...
We were rushed through our meal with the starter arriving before we had finished our olives and bread, the main also arrived too quickly, which was a shame as the food itself was lovely. If we had been given longer in between courses we might have managed a dessert too...bit disappointing as this was a very expensive christmas treat with a good friend
Great restaurant with good food of a high standard.
Staff really friendly and attentive.
Would certainly return again in the future.
Lovely ambience, great friendly relaxed service. Good food.
I would recommend, but make a reservation. When we got there people were being turned away as they had not booked a table. We were in a quieter room off the main room by the bar, which was very noisy, and is the main route between kitchen and the other rooms. The service was really friendly but a bit chaotic as the Inn was absolutely full. We had to ask for ice three times, and there was quite a wait between the starters and the main course. However, the food was well presented - not massive portions - and we enjoyed the evening. I had a chardonnay (I didn't specify which) and it was really excellent. The menu isn't large but there are enough dishes to choose from.
Great food and friendly service. Lovely cosy restaurant.
The venison Tatare was outstanding
This is a lovely pub but we were really disappointed by our visit for Sunday lunch. On arrival we were kept waiting, none of the staff acknowledged us, we had to flag one of them down as they were passing.
Be warned the menu is limited on Sunday. We didn't really like any of the main courses offered. Service was very slow. The food is excellent when you get it but so it should be for the price. Main plus is the setting and ambience.
Lovely lunch set menu - fantastic value and delicious with super presentation- great service - and my sister had a birthday candle in her dessert !!!! Plus our dogs were welcomed and spoilt with doggie treats too !!
Good food, interesting menu and very friendly staff. Particularly liked the mix of my Virgin Mary on arrival.
