I came for a Sunday roast with my family, we were greeted by a lovely Irish at the bar, He took us to our table and took an order when we had settled in, the drinks arrived promptly and a food order was taken, we both had chicken roasts which were outstanding! Piping hot and delicious, we had apple crumble for desert and had a lovely experience, KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING PEMBROKE!

Thought this was a joke when I received an email saying the Pembroke had checked me in.
We turned up only to be told by the barmaid that the kitchen was closed and had the manager not contacted me to cancel. No he didn't!!
She suggested we visit the Italian restaurant a few doors away. Had we wanted Italian we would have booked it!! So angry. No apologies given. Will never go back

Hi Elizabeth. I’m very sorry you didn’t have the most positive experience at the Pembroke recently. I do apologise for that. On Sunday we had a technical issue that caused our kitchen to close prematurely. I phoned all the bookings I had for the day but couldn’t get through to yourself. My bartender was only trying to be helpful suggesting an alternative restaurant and not trying to be insulting. Apologies for the inconvenience this caused. Kind regards Shane Manager

The place was absolutely packed for a televised football match. Speakers even in dining area for some reason. Sound was deafening. One poor waiter dealing with the entire dining area, so it was impossible to get served and the bar was four deep. So we left. Cannot comment on the food.

We went for pre-match lunch and drink and was very disappointed with the experience. Normally good but when you have one poor waiter trying to serve all the dining guests chaos transpires. I understand it’s busy on match days but the manager needed to take charge of situation. Real shame because it’s usually a good pub for drinks and food.

We had a fab time at the Pembroke on a Sunday. We took our 2 doggies so we couldn’t sit in the main restaurant but in the other pub area which was fine. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely lovely and really well priced. I had the vegan Wellington and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! The only small critique I can think of is the stools were very comfy I would have preferred a chair with a back but that’s me being picky! Deffo coming back!

Fantastic pub, great beer and great service.

Only slight downside was they started selling drinks out of plastic cups. We were sat upstairs on the tables and had to drink from a plastic cup.
Lager is ok I guess out of a plastic cup, but when I'm drinking Guinness... I always think Guinness should never be served out of a plastic cup.

The Pembroke
Responded on 4 October 2021

Hello Dazza, Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback. We are very happy to hear you enjoy the time with us. Unfortunately due to licensing we are forced to serve in plastics during Chelsea’s Home Game, we wish we wouldn’t have to serve Guinness in them too! See you next time! Klaudia and the Team

We ordered three bar snacks and a bottle of wine. The girl who served us was lovely so when we were presented with the bill we asked her if we added a tip would she receive it. She went away to ask and came back with another bill with a service charge added of £5.99, well I think it was that much…she was slightly embarrassed. I don’t think I have ever been to an ordinary pub where a service charge was added to a bill , but anyway we paid it. The food was ok and the ambiance pleasant. Just wish we had paid the original bill and had given the waitress a few pounds in cash.

Met a friend at the Pembroke for lunch having not been able to go since the pandemic - we were welcomed in and seated, the staff were really friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We had some sandwich’s off the lunch menu and a few sides, very tasty, very large sandwich’s too which I love to see being northern! They have a new spritz menu with loads on, most id never heard of before, I tried the puerto spritz which was lovely and I did ask for the recipe as I would like to make these at home and they were happy to assist. So overall lovely experience hopefully can go back soon for evening drinks maybe and try more of those spritzers!

The place is otherwise very good with a lovely rooftop garden like a stashed away open space.
The staff was probably run iff their feet with customers due to a rugby match so the staff on 2 occasions took away a plate of food that was only half way through and cleared an ashtray with a lit cigarette yet to be finished. This was not appreciated by my friends but they didn’t want to upset the party so they said nothing until later on.
I think this is service thats over zealous but lacking attention to detail considering we spent nearly £250.00.
I would expect a recompense for this but whether we will get one we don’t know.
I would visit again as we have been there thrice now but not in a hurry.

We are hugely sorry that we didn't met your expectation this time, as attention to details is out 6th sense. What it lacks in ambiance...it makes up in food quality. The beef roast and trimmings were very good, but the roast spuds old and re-heated! Shame! Good, at times overattentive, service.

Really good place to eat and the best vegan burger I've ever had. Perhaps they could notify restaurant customers in advance when sports matches will be on, so you have an informed choice on whether to eat there on a busy afternoon. There is no wall division between the bar and restaurant area and so the sports fans made for a very loud lunch where we couldn't really talk to one another. The overly loud music didn't help either.

The Pembroke is a great venue to catch sports events with screens dotted around the ground level and a large projector screen on 1st floor. Traditional pub foodf on offer reasonably priced and friendly staff. There's also a nice roof terrace for when the weather is favourable.

My meal of flat iron chicken was awful - great skin and feathers left on the chicken which was ver unappealing and unappetising - not what I expected at all. I could only manage to eat a little of the chicken breast and could not touch the rest of the chicken which looked revolting. The staff were very good and a third was discounted from the price of the chicken dish but it was not a good dining experience.

We have been coming to The Pembroke regułary in the past few months. I’ve decided to book for Mother’s day as suggested by staff a few days prior. I loved the atmosphere and the service, the mangers are always accomadating my requests even when I book last minute for big groups. Personally I always enjoyed the food and I’m coming back as there’s choices for all of us. I’m recommending this place to everyone!

Came for the roast based on the reviews and they were great, although we went in the evening and it was obvious we had what was left from being made earlier in the day as some items from the menu were missing and we had remnants of some of the items on our plate. We went with 2 kids and there wasn't a kids menu. The waiter said they could do a kids size portion however the fish and chips still came as a main portion but for a fraction of the price which was nice of them and probably understandable that they didn't have small fish portions in the kitchen. Overall, it was a nice experience and the wait staff were freindly. The tables are at the back of the pub so it's not too loud (the kids were actually asleep most of the time without noise waking them).

DONT GO THERE!!!!
Just terrible!! Went there Saturday evening.

We set for dinner, no vegetarian options AT ALL!!
WOW... Eat meat or stay hungry!!
We tried to by pass by ordering fish finger sandwich that was on the menu, and an extended side salad for the my partner.
after 3 mins comes the bar tender/ responsible, very firm saying that sandwich is not part of the menu (although was on the menu)
“So what can we eat? “ We asked..
He gave us this look of a veal and said, I will do EVERYTHING I can for you guys.
Great!! (I replied) So make us one sandwich which is on the menu, his reply that he can’t!!
What a bad joke...

We used to go there 3/5 years ago very often, with family, friends and as a couple only... used to love it and was ALWAYS FULL... now super empty and horrible.

Now the Pembroke is the worst experience we v had for long time.

We drank our wine we ordered and went to the Italian next door...

Will NEVER go back and my advise to everyone , DONT GO THERE.
There are much better places!!!
