The Hoskins family ran it until 2007 - and now (in 2012) have it back, with Simon Cadge as Chef Patron. Great food, a genuinely warm welcome, real ales, award-winning wine list, log fires and a herb garden. Everything you would hope for in a country inn.

Lovely main meal but service was poor. Staff should invest in the use of note pads to assist them !
We hadn't been out to The Pheasant for a couple of years but pleased to say we weren't disappointed and it was as good as ever.
Great food, great service, and lovely surroundings both inside and outside.
A great way to spend our Wedding Anniversary.
Great food, good beer and wine. Watch out for the starter portion sizes which are generous - which left no real room for dessert. Though we shared a couple between us anyway as they sounded, and tasted, great too!
We have been eating at the Pheasant for many years now. As usual Sunday lunch was excellent. We are moving to Norfolk now but very much hope to visit again when in the area.
The Pheasant always delivers a great dining experience. The menu is creative and always being updated - I have dined here twice in the last 4 weeks and been offered/ate different vegetarian options on both occasions- both meals were fantastic, nothing bland or “standard vegetarian” here. The wine list compliments the high standard of cooking perfectly, as does the service. The Pheasant has no faults and if I lived in Keyston i would probably eat there every night!
Great food and wine as always. Staff friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. Menu covers good range of traditional meals and something different. Certainly one of the places to go in the area for good food whether special occasion or just to meet up with friends and family.
A lovely feeling pub, great selection of drinks, with friendly and welcoming staff. The food selection was good, an additional veggie option would have been great. The food was delicious but I and several members of the party thought it was slightly over priced. We had a lovely evening and would recommend the Pheasant at Keyston.
The Pheasant is always good. nice location in lovely village and well worth the drive there. Food and attention excellent.
Excellent experience. We are shortly to move to the area & are looking forward to a swift return!
Lovely food, very friendly staff and reasonably priced for the quality. We will definitely be going back.
I’ve been dining here since I was a child..not that long ago!! Quality of service and food has always lived up to expectation. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. The quality of food / menus have proven great value compared to other local options.
This pub delivers great food along with great, friendly service, time after time. I would definitely recommend it.
Excellent service and delicious food! Thank you
Easy to book and made very welcome. Service good and food tasty.
We booked Sunday lunch as a group of 5. The food excellent. Our only complaint was how cold the pub was, we sat in our coats throughout the meal and were still chilly. We overheard staff commenting on how cold it was for them also. What's sad as we had Sunday lunch about a month ago and it was very cold then too so would appear this issue is not a one off.
Please sort your heating problems as we would love to come back!
Menu interesting with some worthwhile inventions as well as a few old standards.
Cooking and execution excellent. Sauces tasty.
Friendly service and no noticeable delay between order and delivery to table.
Wine list worth a read. Suggested pairings good. Pricey enough to keep you sober.
Ambience sort of "Old pub" but good space between tables; conversation can be enjoyed without shouting or hearing others nearby.
Lovely quaint pub in a tiny village.
Well worth the trip off the main road.
Good food and friendly staff
Excellent lunch. Food a very high standard as usual.
Superb food but vegetables should never be optional extras.
We ate from the fixed price menu which offers limited choice. Somehow that does not seem to matter because the food is prepared and presented so well that I would probably thoroughly enjoy my meal even if I asked the chef to pick my courses for me at random. The quality is superb. The food is well supported by the wine menu from which we enjoyed an Australian red. The beer selection too pleased my palette. All this in a cosy village pub just 6 miles from my home. I wonder how I never found it before. I will find it again
We were recommended to use The Pheasant by friends and we weren’t disappointed. Fabulous food and service.
Enjoyed sunday lunch. Food all beautifully cooked and presented. Family atmosphere. Efficient service. Good value
I'm so glad we chose The Pheasant for my husband's birthday dinner! The restaurant itself has a warm and cozy feel. Service was efficient and helpful -- the suggested wine pairing with my meal was spot on. The food was superb and beautifully presented and we ended up stealing bites of each other's food. We'll definitely be back.
Fabulous service, very friendly environment and staff. Very good food, although cheese board a bit disappointing. not cheap and wine quite pricey for what it is, however, very enjoyable evening and food very tasty.
This was a date night with my wife. We had the pleasant surprise of the Curry night special on the menu which we both chose. The presentation and quality of the meal was outstanding and we will look forward to dining at the Pheasant in the near future.
As ever, delicious food served with great attentiveness and charm. I regularly drive from Norfolk to this delightful pub to meet up with family from Northamptonshire, and we have never been disappointed. A gastronomic experience and a welcome that is rare in its consistency. Bravo to all concerned.
we have known the Pheasant for many years, but bthis was the first visit for five years. Still the same. Excellent
Excellent menu choice. friendly staff and atmosphere.
Quite possibly the finest meal I’ve ever had. And I’ve eaten a lot!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere as always, menu choice was so good didn’t know what to choose, will definitely be back
We have lunch/supper usually on racing days at Huntingdon since we are not local. Last week it was to meet up with friends and the food was better than ever - excellent. Think the dining room wallpaper could do with a change!
Fabulous Sunday lunch, have booked in again in a few weeks time.
A much anticipated get together with old friends we hadn't seen for a while. The food and service were great. Interesting menu which did not disappoint. We had a range of choices and all of them were lovely. A very enjoyable evening.
Absolutely superb as it always is. Very welcoming, slick (and friendly) service and really excellent food. Highly recommended
Exceptional customer service from staff, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food, staff and ambiance! Informative and honest staff and food to die for 😊
This is a fabulous restaurant. It is not cheap, but still very good value for the quality. Ideal for a quiet evening.
Having just moved to the village,,,,what a gem!
Warm welcome and service. The Sunday lunch menu was excellent. The Fish pie was tasty with every mouthful, and the roast dinner was delicious. have booked again , so that says it all.
How lucky are we to have a wonderful local.
This is a very good restaurant indeed. Simon is an accomplished chef. The only noteworthy fault is the organisation of service. We have been here several times, and always the same affliction.... we know good food doesn't appear instantly, but the team, friendlyand kind hearted though they are need some serious training in observing and reacting to their customers. Sitting people down with a menu, then waiting 20 minutes before thinking of taking the order gets very frustrating. Ordering 3 drinks and 15 minutes later still waiting for one of them to arrive isn't great. Forgetting to supply the bill when asked , then having to be reminded is pretty foolish. I have spoken to several folk who come here who all make the same observation, and some have said they are reluctant to come back - everything is so good, save that there has been a serious failing in the ability of the waiting staff to observe their customers and understand what they should do!!!! A modest investment in professional training could correct these errors, but I'm not sure that the owners are aware of them and their significance
