The Plough Amersham
With open fires, sofas and a relaxed atmosphere, The Plough offers a good selection of beers and traditional ales alongside an extensive range of wines, Prosecco, Champagne, cocktails, great coffee and handmade bar snacks served all day.
Gorgeous food as always. Sat outside as it was sunny and it is in a lovely spot. Service as always very friendly. We'll be back!
This was our second visit to the restaurant and we was even more impressed this visit. The food is prepared to order and of high standard, service great efficient and friendly. We live Italian food as we regularly holiday there and this takes us back. Definately be returning 😊
Fresh Italian food and great service. So nice to be able to bring my dog too, as a bonus
Delicious food, great vino & stylish surroundings. The service was a little slow, but this didn't spoil our visit.
Lovely service and authentic Italian food. They were very accommodating to tricky requests and even took good care of my dog’s needs. We will be back.
Lovely food, good choice. Very helpful staff. We have visited many times.
My favourite Italian pub, excellent food, friendly and helpful staff. Lovely old building with a more modern but sympathetic restaurant area. Very good value for the quality of the food.
Great potential with helpful hardworking staff, freshly cooked food, lovely venue and location but SOOO slow food taking 40 mins to an hour to arrive. Not altogether brilliant for the friend with us who has a life threatening allergic reaction to eggs. I had indicated this on the comment section when making the booking. There was just one dessert she could eat - and it wasn’t a available. Chips weren’t safe because of cross contamination from egg containing items using the same fryer. Almost a really lovely evening.
Great setting in the heart of Winchmore Hill, good service, value for money and excellent food (Pizza)...
Delightful food and wine in a very comfortable environment. We will be back!
As usual, great food, lovely surroundings, lovely staff. A piece of Italy in Buckinghamshire
I always love going to The Plough, the food is always amazing, the staff are always welcoming and make good recommendations. Highly recommend the Buffalina pizza and the black ink spaghetti with mixed seafood. Good food, good wine, good Aperol Spritz, good company.
It was our first visit and we really enjoyed our meal
This a beautiful traditional pub in an idyllic village location, run by Italians who cook splendid Italian food. Would highly recommend. Couldn’t fault anything.
Been here several times now. Wonderful country pub with excellent Italian food in genuine wood fired pizza ovens. I usually treat myself to a calzone with lots of extras but tonight I opted for some linguine. Awesome tastes , just love this place.
Great food, great service, lovely decor. Well priced. Would recommend
Good pizzas but not worthy nearly 90 minutes wait.
Take away orders seem to have priority over restaurant customers.
Had heard good things but disappointing
We had a lovely evening in the restaurant. The food was excellent. My dish - the seafood stew was really good and was recommended by the waiter. The service was good not intrusive but not left alone. We will definitely be coming back.
Fantastic Italian pizza and pasta
Great place, amazing food and excellent service, really enjoyable.
Lovely food but the service was a bit slow despite the fact that it wasn’t very busy.
Enjoyable, laid back and spacious. We only ate pizza and it was fabulous
Beautiful old pub with a lovely roaring fire, great pizzas from the wood burning oven. Really nice Italian menu very reasonably priced.
Excellent pizza and lovely staff
Beautiful character pub/ restaurant
By far the best pizza in the area. Truly worth the drive very time you want to experience the real taste of Italy
Authentic Italian food using the freshest ingredients. Limited menu options allow for great quality food properly cooked. Very relaxed and friendly service. Family feel.
The rice ball starters and pizza are what I recommend highly. The mains are overall a little average and can lack flavour (in my opinion)
Unfortunately the break between the starters and the main course was very long and with a young child not acceptable and there was no apology offered
We have eaten at The Plough a few times before and the food was once again at a consistently high standard. The only fault was that the service was not attentive after our initial order was taken.
We were an early if not first booking for lunch mid week.
There was just one person manning the bar and trying to deliver rale service. We were a largish party of eight with small children. Drinks ordered ar bar and taken in the front garden in the sunshine all very pleasent. Preordered ours starters and sat down. A little long in coming so ordered mains.
Couple of other tables arrived and barman was at sea. Refresh drinks were late in coming. Other tables received their mains before us and no prospect of ours arriving.
Like most bad situation information and communication is fundemental. After we started to get impatient about what was going on the kiddies meals were served. The pizza was well under cooked and a sign all was not going well in the kitchen.
The excuse offered as an 11am power cut but the wood pizza oven was working so there was more to it.
It looked like a place that does better. The appitizers we had were good. Different but good.
There was little atmosphere in the restau. Service was slow and the landlord seemed stressed and preoccupied. Food was fine but the atmosphere detracted as there were few other diners and no buzz about the place - it needed pace.
Didn’t take account of Pre booking requested. Service extremely slow and two items ordered never came.
Yummy food, lovely wine in a gorgeous part of the world!
Attended for a family birthday and had a nice evening. Food was great as was the service.
Lovely setting in winchmore hill and I would recommend the pub.
Lovely evening meal sat in the garden enjoying the sunsine
We had a great meal served by a fantastic waitress our only complaint was we waited a very long time for our main course longer than one would expect even though it was freshly cooked...apart from that our experience was brilliant & we will definitely be going back again
whwn we got to the plough I noticed how quiet it was and a few people were outside but there really was no need to book. Empty tables didn't give me great confidence. The starters were quite good but our mains seemed like they had been heated up from the day before. The pizza was probably the freshest. So slightly disappointing and wouldn't go back.
Well worth a visit. Really good food and a great selection of wines. The pizzas are fantastic, home made and no additives. Brilliant.
It was a disgusting experience
service was rude she just through the desserts on the table
pasta with crab with so peppery coud not eat
Sardine fritters full of bones
chicken pate turned out to be minced disgusting to look at and over peppery could not eat it
we had had lunch out side the week before the service was ok at least friendly this time
it was hostile
only good part was the bar, but ridiculously epensive
we will never o again and such a shame had booked it ages ago and ready to tell everyone
to go !
how could you ruin succh a lovely location with your food and service -
Food ok but expensive, no garnish or condiments unless ask
