We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a tasty meal. The dining area was very quiet, with few people due to the ongoing Covid situation. As it transpired, the establishment was going to close completely the next morning. Despite this, the staff went about their work with their usual efficiency
Amazing lovely pub, in fact it’s my favourite to stay and eat , definitely be back , stay safe in these sad times.
We enjoyed the festive menu at lunchtime . Great variety of choices for all 3 courses and lovely selection of seasonal vegetables .
Absolutely lovely food, well looked after and very homely atmosphere.
We try to visit about once per month and as always it was a good meal, very COVID safe, very good and varied Christmas menu.
The waitresses were excellent and attentive throughout
All good!!!
Lovely meal, good atmosphere, with very obliging and friendly staff.
Great menu choice, felt safe and well looked after - fab Christmas tree in the conservatory - thank you
Superb really enjoyed it and will be back again soon
We had an excellent Sunday lunch , the turkey was outstanding, just like Xmas. The waitress was friendly and helpful, almost felt like normal, we have been before and definitely will be going again.
We have dined in this restaurant many times and we are never disappointed. Food is great, service is friendly, efficient and discrete. Ambience is welcoming, open fires make the dining rooms cosy and inviting. Noise levels are acceptable and you never have to raise your voice to be heard. The procedures in place for protection from COVID are spot on and we felt safe there.
Always a pleasure staying and dinning at The Plume.
Delicious food. High standard of service. Warm Comfortable and well designed accommodation.
The service was very slow and whilst I appreciate they were busy all tables had been pre booked so the managers were aware of numbers and still did not have enough staff, it was over an hour before we saw any food on our table. Once the food arrived my friends fish and chips had dry peas, one fish was twice the size of his wife’s and the chips were nothing special - couldn’t see where the triple cooked came from. Overall disappointing but this is not the first time I’ve been disappointed with the plume but it will be my last
Fantastic service and menu. We all had different tastes and were all well catered for.
Being plant based can be problematic and boring however I had a lovely vegan Thali Friday night and a nut roast for Sunday lunch.
For the rest of our party they had fish dishes and steak.
All of the suppliers are listed and local.
Can’t wait to visit again soon
Very good food and service in difficult times. Our room we stayed in was superb. Highly recommended.
We had the Christmas menu. The mains and dessert were amazing. However, we felt that the starters didn't really add much. The service was excellent and the staff incredibly personable. A great experience overall. Only reason for score of 4 instead of 5, was the starter dishes.
Food absolutely delicious. Service is excellent - very friendly polite staff and food served in a timely manner. Love this place and the ambience. You are made to feel a special customer.
We are regulars with our friends, and we can be sure that the evening will be very enjoyable.
Lovely meal and as usual much better than its sister pub near Newquay. Very pleasant service, lots of veg to go with the turkey, extra gravy served in a little saucepan just in case (nice touch) and a good price, what more could you ask?
Alas vegetables rather cool & although the braised beef brisket was tasty it was still very tough.
Good but rather disappointing.
Always a great meal, good portions sizes and polite staff.
A super waitress and a good table ( once we asked to be moved away from the entrance!).
Excellent service with generous portions!
As usual the food and service were excellent but the prices are getting too high.. £16.00 for steak and Kidney pie that would cost £12.00 or 13.00 elsewhere and was no better quality wise.
Will have to think twice about coming back which is a real shame!!
Another excellent evening out at The Plume. Great food, friendly service, Christmas music maybe a little too loud, but all in all a very enjoyable evening. Thank you to everyone.
Service excellent.
Food not as good as we have experienced here before, but still one of the best in the area.
Delicious lunch with aunt and uncle. Good place to meet up. Service excellent. Washroom very clean.
Lovely friendly staff and excellent food . Only scored good for value in view of prices of wine
Lovely lunch . Great venue & food . Staff couldn’t be better . Will return soon
Good choice of food including gluten free options. Great friendly service.
The Open Table booking system worked very well and we were seated quickly, the drinks arrived swiftly and we were allowed as long as we wanted to select our menu. Overall we felt very relaxed with the covid regime in place, it allowed us to enjoy our company and meal whilst feeling safe. The food was excellent and wonderfully presented as always.
Fantastic as always! Food gets batter every time. Lovely staff
As always, fab place, staff are friendly, food was fantastic, great rooms. Cant fault
Very high quality venue, food and drink. Quiet in a good way, so you can easily talk with friends. Slightly more expensive than average but worth it!
Second time we’ve been during a lockdown. Both times excellent, felt very safe.
Great restaurant, friendly professional staff, fabulous food, you won’t leave hungry!!
We took advantage of the Christmas menu and were not disappointed no complaints whatsoever!
Excellent food , fab service. Just a really really good venue. Ticks all the boxes.
This is my go-to restaurant at the moment to meet friends for lunch. Fab staff, delicious food and excellent Covid measures make the experience very comfortable and enjoyable.
Very limited menu for last evening open for lock down been several times love the gammon scotch egg and chips disappointed it wasn’t on.
Excellent food and service as always! Never fail to have a fantastic meal here.
