The Potters Arms
Bill the Head Chef at The Potters has come in and taken over the position and his idea is that The Potters Arms being a Classic British Pub, our Menu should replicate that with lots of homemade pub classics, however with his culinary skills he will introduce a Daily Specials Menu that will be superb quality.
Our events side of the business is getting well established with food provided for groups of up to 100 people, no matter what the occasion, whether it be a birthday, an anniversary, wedding breakfast or wake we can tailor our events menu to meet your needs.
Lovely dinner sat evening...mixed the thai and English menus....all food was excellent...lovely pub and cool staff...will be back!
Food was excellent as usual, especially the filet steak.
Lovely venue and excellent service however we were a large group and 3 menus were on offer, Thai, Indian and traditional pub grub. When are meals arrived. We found the food very hit and miss mainly the Thai and Indian where it was the case it was either very good or not so good. Great idea but not sure if the variety was just a bit too much to handle all in one night. Nonetheless, we all enjoyed our night out there and would still recommend the Potters Arms for food and drink.
Fantastic meal, excellent food, great service!
Great service, great food, pretty location, very glad we choose The Potters Arms for our occasional meal out roast on a Sunday.
Perfect pub for a Sunday roast. Perfectly cooked meat, not pre-sliced and heated up! Generous Yorkshire puddings. Wonderful gravy with roast potatoes, carrot and onion. Also a generous bowl of vegetables. Service with a smile too. We were too full to try puddings! Our dogs were made very welcome in the bar area.
Nice location and good service
Nice pub with restaurant area. Food is good. Pub food but also a Thai menu to supplement it. Local beers on hand pull. Been a few times. Pub is lively with usually something going e.g race night on our recent visit. Parking is usually a bit tight but u can always find somewhere relatively close. Tucked away in the countryside so not particularly easy to find on a first visit.
Warm welcome after 100mile journey fron SE coast for a funeral. ( 1mile -5mins from Chiltern Crematorium)
Quick service and good varied lunch menu from sandwiches, paninis, tolunch pots and salads as well as main menu.
Try the chicken croquettes caesar salad and cumberland sausages with onions and buttery mash which we had!
The Sunday Roast is tasty, great value for money and overall a whole enjoyable experience.
We had not been to the Potters fro a while, and decided to do a walk there with friends one sunny Friday evening. The pub is now owned by the landlord, and has had some work done on it. On Fri (and Sat) evenings there is a Thai menu, which we all had and the food was very good, washed done with some Rebellion beer ! Excellent.
Staff were all friendly and bubbly and the food was good.
If you have not been and want a proper pub, worth a visit.
great service in a delightful village pub.
It offers an eclectic menu and drinks .
we will visit again.
The tempura starter was fantastic and the espresso creme brûlée was delicious. The chicken masaman was tasty but it was served in a bowl and the rice in a separate bowl, both of which were SO hot I couldn’t pour them onto the plate, which made eating them quite difficult. Also it seemed too salty for me.
I would definitely go there again, but I wouldn’t recommend the masaman.
The staff were great, not too fussy!
A very welcoming and friendly pub/restaurant decorated and furnished to a very high standard the outside patio is a perfect place to watch the world go by whilst enjoying a great menu and drink selection cant wzit to return
Outstanding restaurant-pub - great service, great food and nice atmosphere - visited with my daughter for her 23rd birthday. Fab sharing platter to start followed but a Thai duck curry - brilliant flavours - will visit again
A cut above many pubs with good food and friendly service. My only criticism of note is that I would have liked more fish options on the menu.
We went on Fathers' Day 2019 (16th June). Nice, relaxing experience. Staff very young but very professional (that's not a combination you often see!). The food was good and substantial. Reasonably priced. Will definitely be going again.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch - good amount of meat and big Yorkshire pud! Portion sizes were generous and very tasty. Our table also had Ribs and Fish and Chips - again generous and good! Great service. The room was very noisy when full but better when a few tables left. Would definitely come again!
Food was superb when we went a few weeks ago.....so good we changed our wedding reception plans last minute and went there two weeks later for our post wedding lunch. We are now regular visitors there.
Food and Service excellent as usual. The pub refurbishment is also looking very good.
This was the second time a group of us had Sunday lunch at Potters Arms. The first occasion was Mothers day and this time 7 of us went on the May Bank Holiday weekend.
Considering both Sundays were very busy, the service, atmosphere and food was first rate. Would highly recommend.
A very good standard of food and service with a good choice of dishes. Will definitely return.
A late review for a previous meal - highly recommend the Potter's Arms for great food in a relaxing atmosphere. Initially visited this pub restaurant when I read the good reviews , and was not disappointed. Have dined here a few times since then and have always enjoyed the food. The most recent visit for Sunday lunch was very enjoyable. Particularly enjoy the fabulous desserts! Staff are very friendly, and I look forward to returning again soon.
Nice starters, good size main course portions. Staff were the perfect balance of attentiveness and brought food out in good time and all together. Overall great place for a family Sunday lunch.
Good food and great location - would love to go again and try the Comedy night
A pleasant place to stay with a comfy bed & good food & beer
A friendly welcome. Service was excellent and with a smile. Food was good. Although it was my first time here, the place looked like it had just been refurbished. Will definitely be back.
Had a lovely meal. I liked the idea of pot meals. For me it was the right quantity as sometimes there is too much food served in restaurants. Good value. I had room for a lovely dessert.
Friendly staff, but food was average and quite expensive.
Really nice food option to have Thai was good only 3 spring rolls in a portion was a bit random. Will go back
Very welcoming on arrival. Polite and friendly service, huge portions - The fish and chips more like a whale and chips it was so enormous but was outstanding, as was the burger with fantastic onion rings. Only small niggle was the size of the childs portion but perhaps my children have an extra big appetite! It was a weekday lunchtime so it was fairly quiet but was well decorated, clean and tidy. Will definitely return.
Celebrating my father in law’s 91st birthday we visited The Potters Arms on Saturday evening. Having already tried their Thai menu on previous visits we were keen to explore more. A lovely evening with tasty food and good service. Their tie up with Rebellion Beer was much appreciated by my husband. Thoroughly recommend.
Busy Mother’s Day so some noisy children . No fault of The Potters Arms but why don’t parents them out for a run in the fresh air? We were there for an hour and a half and family next to us on their main course so no wonder children were restless!
Food was excellent, service good considering how busy they were.
Will definitely return!
We arrived for Mother’s Day, on arrival no-one greeted us to our table. I had to ask at the bar and the lady walked at the back of the bar expecting us to know where to go.
We order starters, my sister and I had the Scotch Egg. It was so tiny, over cooked and very dry. So expensive for £6.00! The soup my mum had was lovely and a decent portion. We didn’t want to complain as we didn’t want to spoil my mums day.
Our main courses were lovely and so was the sticky toffee pudding. My mum had the crumble but she said didn’t really have any crumble just fruit.
Overall we did have a nice afternoon, however very expensive for what we had. A lot of the mother day meals including a glass of bubbly which this didn’t, however I’m very local and saw the good reviews so thought we would try it.
Superb food well cooked. Serving staff very attentive. Manager very engaging.
Very pleasant dining experience. The food was very tasty, well served, and the Manager was very welcoming and had a lovely manner about him. The interior of the Potter's Arms is very attractive.
Good food, friendly but slow service. Would return.
This was our first visit for lunch celebrating our sons 16th birthda. Really pleased with the service and food on offer. We had Dunday lunch and it was fantastic. We ordered dessert which unfortunately took quite some time. I had a fruit crumble with custard, we think it was baked to order but we weren’t informed of this. If we were then I would have ordered something else. Overall though we enjoyed it very much and would probably return but not order the crumble.
Fantastic place! Great service! Lovely Sunday roast!
My wife's rack of lamb comprised 2 chops and was overcooked. I ordered my steak rare - it was served medium. I mentioned it to our server, but without any response.
