About this restaurant

  • Neighbourhood gem
  • Charming
  • Great for outdoor dining
Richard has been the custodian of The Potters Arms for over 8 years now, before taking over The Potters Arms his background has been 25 years in the Independent Restaurant trade, working with fresh food, searching and building relationships with the finest suppliers in the area to make sure that the food served from the kitchen is consistently the best it can possibly be.
We have just built a terrace bar which will be open for brunch and crepes, coffees, Ice Cream, Slush Cocktails & Pizzas.

Bill the Head Chef at The Potters has come in and taken over the position and his idea is that The Potters Arms being a Classic British Pub, our Menu should replicate that with lots of homemade pub classics, however with his culinary skills he will introduce a Daily Specials Menu that will be superb quality.

New management, went for sunday lunch. Restaurant was fairly quiet. We all had roast dinners which were lovely with generous portions with good selection of vegetables and big Yorkies! Staff were friendly. Since Richard has left, taking various interior decorations including curtains the pub looks bare and unwelcoming. They need to address that quickly as it is a little off-putting

I had Lamb Sunday Roast and the meat was disappointing as it was well done and a bit tough. Meal taste was good just let down by the meat.

Sorry but won't be returning. Service poor and some items with roast were cold.

Food was tasty - we chose Nepalese specials ( not in menu but maybe they should be ) . We had booked a table , but it wasn’t ready when we arrived ( don’t think they were expecting us) . The restaurant has no ambiance and had more of a canteen feel - basic table and chairs in rows . It took over an hour for our food to arrive despite there being only one other occupied table in the restaurant . Had to ask for tap water 3 times too. Finally we weren’t offered a dessert or coffee , so we made our way to the bar ti pay the bill . It’s a shame as the staff were pleasant and polite , but not really attentive to us .

Worst Sunday roast I have ever eaten. Horrible curry house / pub fusion.

Main course was fine but after 45+ min wait for desert the order was delivered over 15mins. The apology was that they were being made fresh but we suspect that they overlooked the order. Total lack of transparency.

I brought two friends here for lunch. Very friendly and attentive staff and the food was delicious, hot and fresh. Much appreciated on a cold January day. Good options of fish and a number of veggie options for non meat eaters.

We went to Potters on Sunday Service was exceptional, the meal came very quickly. The meat portion was very generous ,unfortunately my and my party were both in agreement that the vegetables were a bit on the mean side. Apart from that the meal was really nice a little warmer would have been nice

Staff very accommodating. Big portions. Food could have been a little hotter. But the extra gravy we asked for helped.
