Delightful evening. Pre theater, great service, delightful food. A step back to graciousness
One of the fish meals was lukewarm at best. It returned 20 minutes later and had been placed under the broiler, now being dried out and overcooked. Sent back once again for a new piece. By the time it was received the other 3 people at the table were beyond finished with their meals. Expected the Prime Rib kitchen to know better
The restaurant is showing its age. The chopped sirloin, house salad, bread and sundae were very good with a cocktail and wine list that is on par with other fine restaurants in the city. The crab imperial was awful, no lump crab or creamy sauce and just warm in the middle. The baked potato may have been better if someone hadn’t unscrew the top of the pepper that spilled into it, I didn’t have the time to wait for another. The asparagus was too big to be tender no matter if steamed or grilled. One bread pudding had a piece of moldy bread. But the service was impeccable, from valet to bus person. I’ll go back, and when I do, I’ll stick with steak!
Had a wonderful anniversary dinner with Bobby as our waiter. Everything was perfect drinks, skins and of course the prime rib. After all these years it’s still the best place for an evening out!
We celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday. She loves rare prime rib and said yours was the best. Thanks for the wonderful food and service!!!
We have noticed that over the past year that the split cut of prime rib is no longer tasty with the brown, fatty edge that we so enjoyed over the years. What are you serving in place of the original prime rib cut...it is not as tender and is now rather tasteless without that dark, fatty edge that we love. Need to know if you still have that original cut of prime rib...don't like what you are serving now. The prime rib is the only reason we come to the Prime Rib restaurant. Would like hearing an explanation, please and thanks!
Like from another era. Classic old school steakhouse with lots of charm. Excellent food and service. Would absolutely go back.
The place is great. Prime Rib is incredible. We always get Aaron to be our waiter. He does a wonderful job. Been there 50 years. ! Highly Recommend this Baltimore landmark
Outstanding food and service. A Baltimore gem. Perfect for special occasions.
One of my favorite places to have a relaxing & elegant dining experience !!
Always a delightful experience. Great server and delicious meal.
The Prime Rib in DC was our favorite restaurant during the 90s. After moving to Howard County we shifted to the Baltimore outpost. We've been there many times since. It's still our favorite in Baltimore. The Prime Rib is one of those places you save for special occasions. You feel it instantly as you approach the entrance as the lobby outside has "Welcome to The Prime Rib" on the back wall and floor rug. Nice touch. Inside, the bar is very crowded (several people deep all around) while a three-piece jazz ensemble plays throughout the evening. The tables are situated close together, but it's not bothersome; you feel like you're a part of everyone's party. White tablecloths, comfortable leather chairs, dimly lit room, loud laughter. The menu has what you'd expect from a classic steakhouse and the wine list is solid. This evening my wife and I were treating my mom for her 80th birthday and we surprised her first with a limo ride down (and back), and then with the restaurant destination. (She and my dad turned us on to the DC Prime Rib back in the 80s. She'd never been to the Baltimore location.) We had a lot of fun! Service was great, as always. So the food... my wife and mom shared Oysters Chesapeake to start and I had the lump crab cocktail. All good. We each had a glass of Prosecco with the apps. We then had the house salads. This is a Prime Rib classic that we usually get. I thought the dressing was a little underseasoned. For the main course my wife and I each had the Prime Filet Mignon with Bearnaise and horseradish sauce on the side. The steaks were cooked perfectly. My mom got the 28 oz bone-in ribeye. It looked amazing and she loved half on Saturday night, took the rest home for Sunday night. We shared creamed spinach (good) and the classic Greenberg potato skins (with sour cream on the side), which we thought were not as good as in the past. Great bottle of wine! We took a few desserts home. It's very expensive, but worth it for those special occasions.
Went to celebrate my husband’s birthday, which I mentioned when I made the reservation. It was not even acknowledged by our waiter - I did see others. However, the food was delicious! Tables way too close together.
Extremely Overpriced very adequate meal, service and meal were highly disappointing for the exorbitant price we paid. Will never go back-Birthday dinner for my son was ruined by this experience.
Step into the past when restaurants were restaurants. Piano playing in the bar. Quiet and professional, not all the noise like the more well know steak restaurants like M... S... and R..C.. Nathan, our waiter, was great!! Our 28 oz bone in Ribeye Steak was awesome! The Chilean Sea Bass was huge and cooked to perfection!! The Pecan pie was to die for!! Don't miss this restaurant! $$$$
The Prime Rib never disappoints. Everything was perfect. Our server, Nathan was outstanding.
Pricey but, if you love great steakhouses, worth it. I always get the veal chop, and I am never disappointed. Great wine list, attentive service, a jazz pianist--what more could you want? It's a Baltimore classic.
Overpriced for the quality. Tables jamed too close together. Not worth the money which is considerable.
Dinner was delicious - but service was very slow. Sat with dirty dishes in front of us for quite a long time before table was cleared.
A true classic! And original! A steakhouse before they all became one more corporate chain. Long may she reign
Simply a classic place in Baltimore. One of those restaurants that makes the entire city a better place. Great food and great service !!!
Our very favorite special occasion restaurant! Service is impeccable. Music is perfect. Food is even better!
As usual, our dinner at the Prime Rib in Baltimore was fantastic. Glad our son still lives in Baltimore so we can come up from Naples Fl and take him to dinner.
AlwAys wonderful! We’ve been coming here for over 50 years. Baltimore is the original and the best.
Wonderful as usual.
We had dinner at the Prime Rib to celebrate our 48th anniversary. Everything was perfect. Love the food and the piano player. Our waiter, Robert, was very excellent.
After dining at the Prime Rib for a number of years, this was the first time we were really disappointed.
My "jumbo lump" crab cakes were NOT true MD crab cakes. They had virtually no flavor, were covered with
a soft bread crumb like coating, and were more mushy than jumbo lump. I actually wasn't as concerned with the lumps as I was with the lack of taste and almost glutinous quality. As it so happened the woman at the next table ordered them too, and when I saw her make a face after trying a couple bites of the crab, I asked her what she thought. She did not like hers either. Her first comment was, "This is not a good crab cake". I definitely agreed. I'm very sorry to have to write this, but I think you should know.
The Prime Rib never lets you down !!
Always wonderful for Special Occasions !!
Great food, service, and atmosphere
The perfect place for our anniversary. I love the dress code.
Fantastic as usual. Love it every time!
From the minute you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a maitre d’ who calls you by name and asks if you would like to have a drink, if waiting for others, or if you prefer going directly to your table. You know immediately that you are in good hands. This gracious reception sets the tone for the evening. These guys are tops at Prime Rib.
Then, table service commences with water and bread delivered by well trained, polite staff.
And, next, what you have waited for a drink, concocted by some especially talented bartenders. You are getting closer and closer to dinner but never rushed. When you are ready, your server is ready with answers if needed, but respectful if you know what
you want. Specials are often too tempting to resist and add to your preconceived choices. Never feel that once your order is placed that you are forgotten. Your server is a pro and keeps tabs on you without being intrusive.
The Prime Rib’s fare has been fabulously consistent for years and years, actually, from the beginning. Neither I nor anyone I know has every left the Rib with an unfavorable comment. In the food industry this is pretty unique.
Don’t change your kitchen or your staff. You have the very best.
Be proud of what you created and keep doing what you are doing so extraordinarily well.
It was great. My fiancé and I are from Baltimore but literally travel all over the United States just try different restaurants. Ruth Chris WAS my favorite steakhouse by far. No more. Prime Rib is where I will be at for now on. Steak was amazing. Crab cakes were perfect, and the cream of spinach. 10/10
We knew what to expect for a special dining experience and we got it!
As usual, The Prime Rib never disappoints. I had my 59th Birthday Dinner here. The food was wonderful and our server (Tommy) was the best as usual. Thank you.
I've been eating at the Rib for at least 30 maybe 40 years, never had a bad meal and always great service. Terrific beef and wine service, outstanding bar service and cool jazz.
