Great quality food with great service.
The QCH feels like an old friend. The confit spuds are nationally famous and rightly so.. And the onglet as always was superb. A special shout out this time for the fish soup starter with a grated black olive garnish. Quite magnificent. Hat tip also to the cotes de Rhône house red: great value by the glass.
Really great service, amazing food and lovely restaurant. Perhaps a little high in price, but then the food was really tasty & the wine a perfect match, so worth it in the end. The December tasting menu was definitely worth it
Incredible food, romantic setting. Service prompt but not overbearing.
Food and staff was amaaaaazing! But it was very cold where we sat, even though they had a big curtain for the door...
Always a wonderful experience eating at the Quality Chop House! Delicious food and excellent hospitality. One of my absolute favourite restaurants in London.
We were looking forward to this but the food, atmosphere and service outshone our expectations
The table we were sat at wasn't great - would have liked a better table for 2.
Delicious food, great service and interesting wine list
I purchased the beautiful recipe book and the stories of the menu plus the fabulous forward in the book convinced me we must try.
The quality of the food was amazing, the service genuine and exemplary - what's not to love?
Unfortunately did not meet the high standard we were expecting of Quality Chop House. Experience further marred by kitchen's poor ventilation, clothes, bags and hair smelled of oil after. Only saving grace is the services provided by the young staffs!
Was the first visit though my guest who I was treating had been there a few times. I do not eat meat but already knew the menu would suit me. Only gave service four stars because we were so busy talking I didn't really pay attention but it was seamless and unobtrusive. Only one small comment about my glass of red wine which had sediment at the bottom so was unable to finish it. It tasted fine but a long time since I had seen that. The food was excellent and very original. Will be returning some time for more of their famous confit potatoes.
The waitress spilt the wine and went on my boyfriend shoes, and she didn’t said anything
Exceptional food, exceptionally friendly and knowledgable service, exceptional ambiance = exceptional evening. Cannot recommend highly enough for meat lovers.
Simply the best dining experience you can find in London - traditional British meals taken to a level that far exceeds expectations
Great food, very smelly due to open kitchen and poor ventilation. Our clothes badly smelled of food/ oil.
I love the Quality Chop House. My first experience dining with them was at Wilderness Festival in 2018. They are passionate about food and process all food themselves in their butchers shop using quality locally sourced produce. The restaurant in Farringdon assures a cosy and intimate dining experience and the service is exceptional. Adjacent to the restaurant is their Quality butchers shop and Quality Wine shop, where excellent products can be purchased. Also you can sit in the wine shop and partake in a glass or two (or more) of the extensive selection of wines in their inventory.
Big fan of the Quality Chop House. One of the best restaurants in London
What a disappointment! Over priced with waiting staff who walk about with an air of superiority. We were led into a back room next to the entrance to the toilets. Our impossibly small, wobbly table was crowded with two bottles of water (surely one would suffice?). The knives were blunt and totally unsuitable for the meat we ordered.
We left feeling cheated and mugged. Never again
First item there and will not be the last. lived up to reputation. Enjoyed the chat with chef Shaun about his cooking. a real delight.
First time i have been, but it will not be the last. Great food, and a really unusual menu. The pheasant was beautifully cooked and the 'trimmings' were to die for. I would also highly recommend the confit potatoes.
Excellent as always at this London staple. The mince on toast is perennial favourite.
My first time here and definitely not my last! Everything was absolutely delicious, packed full of flavour and excellent quality. Standouts were the game tea, the mince on toast and the famous confit potatoes, which I could eat every day for the rest of my life! I will be back!
Fantastic experience with great staff and amazing food - thank you!
Ambience, quality of food and standard of service all combined to make a memorable meal.Excellent.
Delicious food from an autumnal menu. The curried crab starter was beautifully balanced although the porcini was scarce on my sisters plate of artichokes with raw porcini. The pheasant with trimmings was excellent - almost over generous. The small dish of minced game with a parmesan cream topping was very rich but totally delicious. The venison was rare and full of flavour. Additions of confit potatoes and kale really uneccessary and required a doggy bag to take home. Too full for pudding other than excellent just churned almond icecream with brandied almonds. The service was a bit sporadic and our waitress perhaps a bit too effusive but not terribly efficient. A few small caveats but all in all an excellent meal and a lovely place.
My favourite in London !! Wonderful food and always lovely service ... and I can’t echo enough how brilliant the Sunday Lunches are ... so much so I struggle to get in too often .
The snacks and starters are excellent. For the mains I would steer clear of the game - it is extremely difficult to cut into there is hardly any meat once you have managed to cut into it - which is why the meal comes with a side dishes presumably but these are full of cheese and salt and not to my liking. The service and ambience and choice of wines are very good though I must say
Excellent food and friendly, helpful staff. Would recommend the fish soup and mince on dripping toast. Look forward to our next visit
Wonderful staff, interesting menu. However as many poor dishes (both the potato dishes in particular were hugely disappointing) as good dishes (the game tea was delicious).
Chairs uncomfortable, tables for 2 very cramped
Really impressed, could not fault anything. Food was impeccable and service was attentive and friendly. Walked away very full and very satisfied, will definitely be making return.
A fabulous lunch. Right up there with the best places to eat in London right now
I have already recommended to friends - enjoyed the whole experience including visiting the wine bar next door for a pre dinner drink. Will go again
ANOTHER completely exceptional meal. Food was faultless: complicated in preparation but strangely simple, charming, knowledgeable service and an inviting room.
Completely delicious food. Service was impeccable. Very helpful and knowledgeable waitress. Thought the ambience could be improved if it felt a bit more comfortable. Wooden chairs are hard and the bare tables need a coat of varnish or a cloth and it was a bit chilly. But if you’re looking for absolutely knock out traditional food with an innovative twist this is a restaurant for you.
I went to celebrate my sins birthday the staff were fantastic and the food was amazing . The roast beef was exceptional .
Terrific and unique food. Brilliant steaks and game birds. Small but decent wine list. Great for carnivores. Do bring Lipitor for the confit potatoes and pork croquettes... but they are worth it!
Lunch set menu. Quality excellent. A surprising & most enjoyable experience.
I was staying in the neighborhood, on a short visit to London, and read previous reviews, and it lived up to its reputation. It had the atmosphere of its original working club, and contrary to many restuarants I experienced knowledgeable and fiendly service, something I especially appreciate when I dine alone.
I stayed on course with reviewed recommendations from the menu starting with the Game Tea - perfect broth with no bitterness on a cold damp night.
I concluded with the confit potatoes and a perfectly seasoned sirloin steak. The potatoes are as good as everyone says!
Good selection of wines from Old and New World regions - I though quality and prices by the glass were reasonable for this caliber of restuarant.
Looking forward to my return to explore more from the menu particularly seasonal game.
It’s great, really really really really really great.
