Staff did an unbelievable job on saturday the pub was completely full yet staff visibly cleaning surfaces constantly plus always in the toilet cleaning handles and taps yet still warm chatty and helpful top job and top pub
Lovely place great atmosphere lovely food and staff
Sunday Roast was Amazing!!!
Beers sooo cold and good!
Staff super nice!
WE LOVED IT! Spent 7 hours there, that has to count for something! :D
Lovely meal spoiled by being seated in the main bar area under a speaker playing music far too loud. Impossible to have a conversation
We had a lovely anniversary Sunday sharing lunch at the Queens Arms and couldn't recommend it more! Incredible food, lovely service and great ambiance.
Great food, great place and the service is very good too!!
Don't consider it, just go, you won't be disappointed!!
Amazing afternoon in the Queens Arms.
The customer service is fantastic and the food was great .
Definitely the best place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Excellent food, value and service. Would recommend the steak sandwich
Was a bit noisy and busy, but the food was good and the server was friendly, happy with our trip
Also, music was a bit of an odd choice for the atmostphere 🤷🏼♀️
The most amazing curried chicken pie for two - yum! and lovely pink cocktails - thank you
My wife and I love this place. Kitchen is amazing and the FOH stuff is very friendly.
Went for Sunday roast dinner. The beef was perfect and the Yorkshire Puddings were to die for. Fantastic service. Would definitely recommend and re-visit.
We expected a lively Edinburgh bar and thats what we got, the staff were so busy but yet made our late dinner an event. Thank you
Sharing roast and pie were excellent, will definitely be back!
We enjoyed a lovely sharing Sunday lunch. We had to wait a few minutes for our pre booked table but other than that the service was good. This pub was a fantastic find in Edinburgh and we would definitely go again.
It was a fantastic afternoon in a lovely atmosphere with table service to watch the rugby .
A girl called Lauren looked after us and she was fantastic.
The Sunday Roast was very good with lovely vegetables and plenty of gravy. The service was sadly a little on the slow side with a long delay before our order was taken but the drinks and then food arrived without too much more delay.
Sunday lunch looked fantastic. Sadly the beef was very tough. The deserts made up for it though!
Everything about the Queens Arms was excellent. It was very noisy, but it was Saturday evening so to be expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.
We love the Queens fantastic food and ambience. The food is always good but would like to see more variety in the Menu.
Best Sunday lunch I have ever had! Great value for money; everything was excellent! Will definitely be returning when I am back in Edinburgh and I have already recommended to friends and family.
This comment does not affect the food or service but noticed a few staff members on their phones in plain sight. It looks just a bit unprofessional when everything else is such a high standard. Staff were brilliant though when serving us.
We came here two years ago and couldn't wait to return. We live in Spain so a traditional pub meal is a highlight of any trip to Edinburgh. This time our experience was mixed. We had booked Sunday lunch for 6 people at 13.00. As before the food was absolutely delicious, amazing value for the fantastic sharing Sunday roast and everything was beautifully cooked. At 3pm we had to move as the next booking arrived - no problem and we found another table. We were having a great time, catching up with our family. However around 4pm the TV was turned up to an ear-splitting volume. When we asked the bar staff about it we were told football is advertised by the pub so they have to show it. No problem with the football being on (it had been on all day) but why the deafening volume? We were told several customers had requested it. We sat back down and had a good look around the pub. No one was paying any attention to the football. The majority of customers were like us, trying to enjoy Sunday lunch with family. We asked about it again but were told the volume would not be turned down as we were the only table who had mentioned it. I can only assume British politeness meant no one else wanted to complain! We certainly saw several other tables complaining to each other. We had to move to another pub as we couldn't enjoy our conversation. Such a shame as we had hoped to stay there. I wouldn't return for lunch during football season and neither would the rest of our party.
We had Sunday Roast, which was delightful. So delicious, everything was prepared with care, the staff were helpful and friendly, we had plenty of time at our table - a full two hours. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
Dinner was amazing and service was great the only thing that was wrong was we did wait 20mins+ for our first round of drinks!
Good ambiance, excellent food, just right for our night meeting a friend.
Everything cooked perfectly.
All very nice tasty food and good value would definitely go back again.👏
One of the best Sunday Lunches in Edinburgh - outstanding quality and value.
In terms of the food, definitely a recommendation. The portion for the main (we had the shared Sunday roast) was definitely enough for two people and the dish was very tasty. I usually prefer the steak medium, though I can say I quite liked the medium rare this time. The three (fairly small) bites of dessert were very good too.
In terms of the service, it was quite poor. The first restaurant ever when the drinks arrived way after the food, though we ordered simultaneously. Also we waited the longest for the desserts (about three times more than for the main). I often had the impression the waiters were quite disorganised. On the bright side, they were very polite and friendly.
Loved the quirkiness of the decor and the booth with a gate that we sat in. The gap between the table and the booth wall was a touch small, anyone enjoying a large meal may struggle to get out!
The joint of beef was superb, just the way we like it, the wine was lovely and the desserts were delicious. If we are ever in Edinburgh again we would definitely go here for our Sunday roast
Lovely place, highly recommended. We were there for the Sunday roast, which was excellent as usual.
Some mix up with the desserts this time though, we were waiting for a while and then decided to flag someone.
Really cute traditional pub atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious Sunday roast!
Great food and really good value
This was our favorite in Edinburgh. Crowded so the noise level was high and the service a little slower but enjoyed it very much!! It made the experience complete
Being New Years day was really busy and quite noisy. We were given a booth which was quieter. Staff were excellent and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. Enjoyable meal
Great Sunday roast. Always enjoy the atmosuabd food in the QA, great service and draught real ales.
Great bar with good service. They're a bit precious with table reservations - walked in and the pub was half empty but the empty seats were reserved for parties arriving 1-2 hours later. Seems ridiculous losing out on revenue when potential patrons walk out due to lack of available seating.
Went there just before Xmas 2019 with my daughter for a meal @ 7:30pm. We both ordered ribeye steaks. The steaks were tasty cooked to perfection, although the side salad could have been more ample and the potato wedges looked like they were the dregs from the deep friar. The waiter was very attentive if not a little over zealous communicating. If i had to to do it all over again i would have chosen somewhere more laid back or quitier. It was the last weekend before xmas so it was very noisy full of end of year work party get togethers, and also very busy. Overall reasonable. Booked through the web which advertised a 3 course xmas menu which was not on offer sadly.
Had a great day it’s nice to be able to have a conversation without shouting yet have music in the background, would recommend to anyone
Food was very nice, we had the sunday roast sharer. However, a couple more roast potatoes wouldn't have gone a miss and the sharing dessert tasted really good but again the portion of 1 mince pie, 1 small piece of toffee cake and 1 ball of ice cream between 2 people just didn't hit the mark!
C'mon, an extra scoop of ice cream or extra spud each isn't going to hurt... It's Christmas after all.
