The place is amazing and the food is incredible; the evening was remarkable
I heard about Quilon from a regular diner there. Initial impression was that of confident understatement, subsequently complimented by extremely courteous, professional staff. Food is first class, both in quality and presentstion, and the waiters were only too happy to answer any queries and recommend dishes in line with palette preferences. A thoroughly enjoyable evening - I now understand why my friend eats there so frequently!!!
Excellent food and service as always.
Food wasn't as good as what one would expect from one of the top Indian restaurants.
Superb food and service. Expensive but worth it! I would definitely go again.
Mediocre food with mediocre service. Not sure how this is a Michelin rest
The food was very good. However, at the end of our meal, our waiter Raghby(?) kept asking us for tips on card even though it said 'no tipping was allowed' and service charge was included. Then he kept us waiting for a long time to get cups to take our wine (for which we paid over GBP350) to the bar area of the hotel. When I finally started walking out, that's when the cups suddenly appeared. I am surprised at the rude treatement by Raghby at a Michelin star restaurant where guests pay so much and expect a level of service rather than being bugged about tipping and then receiving slow service (we ordered a wine carafe AFTER ordering an expensive Bordeaux Pomerol bottle). Did not feel welcome and I don't think I will be going to Quilon again.
One of the best Indian Restaurants . Highly recommend this place
Great food, great service, would highly recommend it !
Amazing experience. Delicious food, Great service and Great price! The tasting menu was awesome 😊
Indian cuisine is not our favorite, but it was good, and the service excellent. We were seated next to the aisle to the kitchen and that was not the best, but still a good experience.
I have been coming to Quilon for the last 4 years, the service used to be amazing but it has definitely dropped.
My husband and I go for the Sunday special menu where the staff used to give us extra accompaniments and sides, a tea pot of chai per person. When we went with 8 ppl, we got 2 accompaniments across all of us and just one cup of chai, when we asked for extra portions we were charged.
I have recommended Quilon to so many ppl over the years, I am disappointed at the service.
On my previous visit, the waiter dropped a tamarind chutney on our table cloth, instead of changing the tablecloth, they just put an extra napkin to hide the stain.
The service is definitely not what it used to be.
From start to finish this was a first class experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming, food was clever in its presentation with great descriptions by staff when presented at the table. We thoroughly enjoy the meal. I won’t hesitate to return
Great lunch for £27!
Five star cooking at a great price
We have been to Quilon several times. This was the first with my son who just turned 20. Surprisecake:-). We had wonderful chicken to start with champagne. The signatur Lamb shank was matched with Little Creatures Pale Ale. Outstanding :-)
Love to be back soon!
Food excellent as always. We had the seafood tasting menu and the quality of the ingredients and the blend of spices made every course a delight. The highlights were the turbot and the seafood biryani but I couldn’t fault any of it. Service is efficient and friendly.
We went to Quilon for my birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We are from the seafood menu and were surprised at how much food came with. We were practically rolling out of the door.
Although the food and service at Quilon were quite acceptable we felt that there was nothing outstanding about this restaurant. Quite disappointing for a restaurant with a Michelin star.
We had to ask to move table as the table next to us was very noisy with children shouting.
We chose the 'non-vegetarian' menu. The starter arrived BEFORE we had finished eating the popadoms etc....
The main course of lamb and chicken tasted as though the chef had emptied the salt pot into it by mistake.
The pudding was a piece of dry cake and tasteless pistachio ice cream
The four very small glasses of wine in the wine flight were very average and not worth the £39
The last beer I had in the beer flight tasted like a children's raspberry fizzy pop
Having eaten in numerous Michelin stared restaurants we wondered how you ever achieved your star!
Altogether we were very disappointed
As always delicious food and perfect service!
Supposedly Michelin Star food. Did not bring my main course, and when enquiry made, said it could not be produced. A lamb dish appeared 5 minutes later. Michelin star food is not produced in that time. Quality - average high street Indian. Don't go.
The food was excellent. We had the black cod and the fish curry. All the service people were professional and pleasant. I wil definitely go back on my next trip to London.
My wife and I had the tasting menu, the meal was delicious and the ambience was very good, the service was exceptional!
Food was just outstandingly delicious. True Fine Dining place! Will be definitely back!!!
Understated and charming, a lovely quiet curry. This place is all about the flavours, which are sensational!
First time in a couple of years. Food was as good as I remember and service was super friendly and really helpful making us feel welcome and enhancing a very enjoyable experience. If you like seafood it's even better but the meat and veg are also great. The extra palette cleansers are also delicious in their own right.
Exceptional food, service and atmosphere. Music good too.
The food and service was just mediocre. This was a disappointment
We had the tasting menu with beer. The food was really delicious, and I am surprised that I drank so much beer in one sitting. It was fun and a novel way to have this food experience. The restaurant was really an oasis, and I wish I could go again tonight, although I would choose wine this time. Thank you so much!
I was very impressed by the service we received from the waiters and servers. They were friendly, courteous and professional. The wine was very good and the food was excellent. It was certainly the best and most elegant Indian food I have ever tasted, the lamb in particular. I also appreciated the complimentary starter, drink and chocolates and as a result, combined with the quality of the food and service, makes Quilon very good value for money.
Our water was fantastic. We told him what we wanted and he delivered. Delicious.
Very creative menu. Deserves the praise for that. Service lax, slow, non attentive.
Food was outstanding, the lamb shank was delicious. Couldn’t have asked for better service or food; a fantastic night out
Exquisite food in a beautiful room with exceptional service. We could not stop smiling from the moment we walked in.
We had the most amazing meal here; probably the best in London! We did the beer tasting menu - so glad we did. The food was amazing, and so was the beer. The service was outstanding!
Excellent all round service, great food and attentive staff
I had a good time at Quilon on Friday 21 June 2019 and will definitely return. There is a good vibe about the place, not so loud so one can easily have a good or romantic conversation. The food was excellent every thing we had was good - the mini dosa, fish peeri, lamb biryani, fish curry. The dessert we complained the cake was too much - (better complain for too much than too little) and thats simply because we had overeaten. The only reason I give the service a 4 star is because i stressed no coriander albeit I understand most of the Indian meals come precooked with coriander but my biryani still had some garnished coriander which i removed and still enjoyed the food. Overall a good restaurant, good waiters and a place to treat someone special. To the staff and chefs - well done and please keep up the good service and food quality.
I had vegetarian tasting menu. It was a great review of typical Indian food. I enjoyed it very much.
It was much more of quantity that I would expect from tasting menu, so I left really full.
The tasting menu is amazing!
We dined here on the good advice of a friend and would highly recommend to others! Excellent service and very authentic southern Indian food.
