Located high up on Saddleworth Moor above Manchester, Rochdale and Oldham, the Rams Head Inn at Denshaw enjoys panoramic views out over the surrounding countryside. It’s just five minutes from Jn 22 of the M62 and the inn is a real treasure, more than 450 years old and packed with memorabilia as well as stoves & log fires in every room. This multi-award-winning venue was one of the original gastropubs and specializes in farm-assured steaks, burgers, seasonal game and fresh fish and seafood dishes complemented with excellent real Ale, wine and champagne.

Fantastic Sunday lunch, well cooked and presented. The staff were professional and attentive, and finished off with a drink outside, sat with the views of the moors.

A warm welcome… 2 fish pies/ 1 burger/1 ribeye steak-all nicely presented … all excellent quality albeit my ribeye was a little tough but tasty. Wainwright beer very agreeable-well kept and presented. Cappuccinos good quality. The restaurant & bar/pub winds down quite early 9.30/10pm so you can’t hang around too long, which is not unusual nowadays. All in all a nice experience and would recommend.

Lovely afternoon but both my grandchildren choose sausage and mash for their main meal. Both meals were in a dish and drowned in gravy. Both would have not had gravy with meals being in a dish is was impossible to cut their sausages up. The gravy spoilt both meals, yet my Sunday roast arrived with a gravy dish.

Had a lovely lunch and the food was delicious - we had battered halloumi and garlic mushrooms then a surprise sharing platter which was awesome. Took a while to come but it was worth waiting for and obviously cooked fresh. Very friendly and cosy Look forward to returning

As always we had a fantastic time at the Ram's Head. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the meals are excellent we have never had a disappointing meal and they are cooked to perfection.
