The Restaurant @ Centurion
After working in some of the country’s top-rated restaurants, it’s unsurprising that head chef Sean Horwood has earned the restaurant two AA rosettes of its own. The rotating a la carte menu showcases the freshest seasonal produce, using items locally sourced.
Friendly welcome and really excellent quality food, quite surpassing for a hotel restaurant how good it was. Nice location overlooking the golf course though the conservatory style room lacked a little in ambiance but that may have been due to increased spacing of tables for distancing.
Lovely afternoon, sitting outside in the sunshine, with friends for lunch. Great service as always. We will definitely be returning.
Food was amazing staff amazing, I loved the experience ❤️
Great Sunday lunch. Lovely surroundings and great service. We’ll be back.
Very good all round in both food & service Definitely recommend
This was the restaurant's first Sunday session since reopening. Although an enjoyable experience, it did not compare to previous excellent experiences here. Perhaps this is because they are still finding their feet having been closed for so long.
Good service from the Head Waitress, but otherwise disinterested and lax service from clearly inexperienced young staff.
No plates offered with our shared starter platter, meaning we had to eat off our napkins.
The wooden skewers on the olives were splintered and we both narrowly avoided injuring our mouths. The young Waitress simply laughed when we brought this to her attention.
The food was overall slightly disappointing compared to previous visits.
My husband found string in his roast beef.
No coffees offered at end of meal and no bill brought to us, meaning we had to go and find someone.
A slightly disappointing experience compared to previous visits, but will probably return in the hope that this was simply teething issues after lockdoen.
A wonderful restaurant, attentive knowledgeable staff, beautiful setting and a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious, in particular the bao spiced buns and spring vegetable soup for starters were stunning. All our mains were well cooked, interesting flavours and beautifully presented. Desserts were again very well received, the creme brulee was very creamy, with a buttery shortbread biscuit and the sorbets were very light and tasty - our compliments to the chef. The cheese board was delicious but a bit sparse.
Overall a very enjoyable meal, polite and helpful staff, beautifully cooked food in a county setting - we will return again Thank you.
Delicious food and great service. The waitresses are very cheerful and extremely helpful!
Maybe it was because it was the last night before the 2nd lockdown but our main serving waitress was less than friendly, bordering surley! Could I have plain potatoes instead of chips? - No - why? because they didn't have any potatoes! If cooking to order and not portions, surely a restaurant would have the basic potato upon it's shelves!! The service got more attentive when it was time for us to vacate by 10 and pay the bill. Also the area we sat in was quite cold but given the pandemic, probably not a bad thing. We had a nice evening but that was due to the company. In hindsight, I'm not surprised I easily got a late booking! plenty of free tables - wonder why?
We had a lovely meal. Service very good and so friendly. Would certainly recommend to friends.
The Sunday roast was excellent. Lovely outlook from the conservatory.
New menu since last visit. Very enjoyable meal with attentive service. Highly recommended.
Lovely friendly staff i was disappointed in the quailty and selection of food for lunch i expected home made cod fish fingers but it looked like frozen cheap fish finger previously food has always been amazing so was really disappointed
Very helpful and friendly staff. Delicious food. Generous portions.
Felt the excited attitude of the staff was a bit put on, had to send a burger to the kitchen again as everything on it was not advertised on the menu, attitude of staff soon changed on us and felt a bit awkward. Was ok once we had meal and dessert. We wasnt asked how everything was and felt a bit left but thought due to covid things must operate differently.
Lovely setting, views across the golf course. The food and service are excellent. The Sunday roast is very good value.
Eat somewhere else
Not the best meal I’d ever had
Rubbery chicken pie and who does Steak and chips with just lettuce !
Has to ask for a small salad and it literally was the side of a tea cup(I’m being generous)
Food choice was very good, I had Tempura Prawns and the Seabass which was brilliant.
But suggest you don't bother with the cheese board, a very disappointing finish to the meal
Food menu was very bland and boring very little choice ,if you are vegan or vegetarian You will go hungry but if you like fish then this menu is for you.Did ask for a caesars salad and got a fat No can do.
The lamb chops came with spinach and chic pea what it should have come with is a nice dauphinois potato’s then with creamy garlic and spinach and that would have been a nice meal.
Deserts again boring (no cheesecake)
Every one loves a cheesecake.
Lovely staff great food good value for money
We thoroughly enjoyed it all..
the food was outstanding
Staff friendly and welcoming as always
We eat here regularly
We had a meal Saturday evening as it was our wedding day we are getting married with you next June! We had a lovely meal it was first class!
Food was outstanding, friendly service, would highly recommend
I love going to the centurion, staff always polite and helpful and welcoming.
Lovely restaurant, quiet ambiance.
A little expensive without the Eat out to help out.
We had a very good traditional Sunday roast. Young lady serving us was cheerful and efficient. We sat near a window where we could look onto the golf course. We would very much like to return.
Excellent main course starter reasonable dessert awful. If you stick to just a roast can't fault it however the rest is mediocre at best. Value for money excellent for mains but the rest poor. Service was good.
Very friendly service, very good food in a relaxing setting
Very nice food, good service and very friendly. Overall very impressed with hotel. Hence we have rebooked to stay again in September
It was fantastic we were able to sit outside and enjoy the views.
The steak was cooked just how we like it and portion sizes were plenty enough for us.
They are running a slightly reduced menu, but there was still plenty of choice.
Service was lovely and spacing both inside and out complied with distancing regulations.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more.
Lovely atmosphere and great food. We go regularly and always enjoy ourselves.
We have had much better meals at the restaurant in the past, the Covid protocol standards were non existent. Staff didn’t wear masks, nor gloves. The only thing that was available on entry was the hand sanitizer. Value was good, but only because 50% was taken off the bill as the promotion Eat out to Help out was applicable.
We are following all current government guidelines in the Restaurant. You say "The only thing that was available on entry was the hand sanitizer". What else were you expecting? We also have social distancing signs up and we have taken out tables to ensure social distancing between all tables. If you had concerns you could have spoken to a member of the team, and they would have told you all the procedures we have to follow and exactly what we have in place to keep staff and guest safe.
Lovely sunday lunch with the family. Food was amazing. Staff were kind and attentative. Well done guys 👍🏼
Excellent food, very friendly and efficient service.
Good food, classics and original recipes. Portions are generous and the staff is very friendly.
Great place for Sunday lunch good size portions & lovely well cooked food. Good prices £10 for pork & £12 for beef. They do children's portions too for £5. Conservatory a nice place to sit overlooking the golf course. Even though its in a hotel its a great place to eat. Recommend give it a go.
Beautiful food !!! Not to busy just perfect atmosphere. Last minute booking and nothing on the menu had ran out or trouble with little dietary amendments. We will be back!!!
Celebrating a double family birthday, we all enjoyed fantastic meals and service was very friendly. There was a big function on in the next room which meant service wasn't always as fast as it usually is but it didn't spoil the evening.
Lovely lunch and friendly efficient staff too ! We had too book but it was quite quiet when we were there .,
We have been several times now and even had our wedding there. and it is the best place. Lovely service amazing food and perfect venue and atmosphere.
