This is a lively, energetic restaurant. The service was very good. They went out of their way to give us the table we wanted, and were pleasant and friendly throughout. Even though a staff shortage in the kitchen meant that a number of menu options were unavailable, this was handled well.
Took ages for the server to arrive, and each " next step" (drinks order, food order, food delivery, check delivery etc) was always an extraordinarily long wait between.
Staff were very pleasant, just seemed either they were overstretched or maybe just not very organised.
Food was OK, it was perfectly nice bistro food.
Lovely place for breakfast, brunch, lunch & dinner. Top quality ingredients. Well staffed restaurant with the open kitchen where you can watch the cooks at work.
This is a really lovely spot. All of the food on the menu is superb. It’s a bit on the pricey side but I would say it’s worth it for the quality. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the restaurant warm and welcoming without any air of pretentiousness.
Will definitely come back but think it’s one for special occasions!
We only had the table for an hour and a half, but the service was so slow it was impossible to have more than one course in that time. When we enquired about staying longer we were told (rudely) that it was not possible. My elderly relative asked (nicely) that the service charge be removed & the waiter replied “I don’t want your service charge anyway!”. I understand that they needed the table but it was handled so poorly.
Really lovely service. Lovely place. Great cocktails. Main meal bowls a little underwhelming- but that may have been poor choice on my part. Overall a good choice for lovely night out.

Really great service - the front of house attendee listened to my request to move to a quieter section as my meal was a business meeting, she was quick to react and very friendly. Perfect service.

It was an amazing experience, the blueberry pancakes were absolutely great and so was the service
Tried the Taster menu - good value. Only fault would be the quinoa salad, we both thought why was that part of it. Odd salad! A great amount of food for a reasonable price.
Our waiter, Mariusz Sliwk was friendly and we had great service from him.

Opened later than normal 8:30am and service was slow

Very rude hostess when we came in. Everyone was being spoken to at the door whilst in the queue but when it came to us she rudely shouted at us to "come over then I can't hear you" and had a really bad attitude, no customer service, no niceties, not a hello or a smile.

Simply amazing. We had the tasting menu and everything was delicious, great quality food specially the beef and great service despite being warned they were short of staff and service might be slow.

I went to the riding house cafe on friday night to celebrate my 18th birthday with my boyfriend. Ive been a few times before and it has always been wonderful however we ordered our main courses at 19:50 and they came at 21:20! Ive never experienced terrible service like this before so i wasnt sure what to do. We did chase our food up twice however it still took an hour and a half unfortunately. They apologised when we asked where it was but i dont think this should be an acceptable time to wait.

Had a lovely lunch with girlfriends. It felt quite noisy when we got there but it didn't actually bother us.
Service was very good.
The only downside to improve was the toilets let a bit to be desired. There weren't regularly checked on. Toilet paper lacking, olds cartons on the floor etc.

The food was great, but the service quite poor. We were at the last table outdoors, therefore the waiter came only once by the table to take the order and I had to walk inside twice to ask for an extra order and for the bill.
I’ve been to RHC many times and chose this as our first girlie get together post COVID but have to say we were disappointed with our visit and not planning to come back. Firstly it was so loud you could barely talk to one another (a suggestion to turn the music down when it’s that loud with people), secondly there were too many items not available on the menu at 12:30 for a brunch sitting and lastly with the turnaround time on the table, after being asked if we wanted more drinks or some dessert, the server came back to say sorry you actually can’t have anything and have to leave because your time is up. To say, no we weren’t a rowdy table needing to be thrown out (!). If they hadn’t had issues with the menu meaning we had to keep changing our order (they could have said at the start vs handing menus with at least 4 dishes unavailable meaning we chose food and then had to look over again to try again) or if they hadn’t taken so long to deliver basically eggs on toast, we would have had plenty of time. They also had various spare tables so felt like we were being chucked out to have an empty table vs a waitlist of people, which was the part that annoyed us most. As you could walk in and get a table they basically were prioritising new people vs looking after us (people that booked a month in advance). They wouldn’t even wait for the whole party to be at the table to take payment, they took three that were there then came back for the final one when back from the bathroom?! I suspect part of their reason was because a few members of our party were late at the start, which seemed to annoy them. I understand that but as they had spare tables and had their own issues that meant less time for us, I felt they could have been more understanding and less rigid. So sadly it’s the end of an era for us going to RHC and will head elsewhere in the future, where we will get service that is just as good as the food.

Great food, nice ambiance and good service as the waitress was very helpful with our order and gave her some great recommendations.
However, I understand that face masks are not mandatory anymore , but I would expect at least the waitress to be keeping some distance from us! She was right next to my face , keeping zero distance and although I was clearly not comfortable as I put on my mask, she continue not to be keeping any distance at all. None of the staff was also wearing and overall it seems like they are not bothered at all about Covid.

Had a great meal at Riding House Cafe (first visit)! Great service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, really good menu choices and the food was delicious. Portions are big too, you won’t leave hungry. Will definitely be back.

It was a comfortable but special place to meet
Really thought out place, love the decoration and attention to detail. Everyone was really friendly and polite. Food was really nice however a little pricy for breakfast and slightly noisy but also close to the kitchen. Overall really enjoyed our visit.

Service was awful with the waitress slamming our coffee down on the table spilling it. A lot of the items including sunday roast wasn't available but we weren’t told this until we went to order. Dessert which was called “Chocolate creme brulee tart” was nothing like a crème brûlée tart but more of a chocolate cheesecake. So disappointed with the whole meal!

Always lovely to visit The Riding House, our favourite casual dining gig in the West End. Really nice that everyone remembers us and our favourite booth, even though we're not in every week. Special shout out to our server and the kitchen for making us a chorizo hash even though it wasn't technically on the menu

I’ve eaten here several times before but the menu seems to have undergone a radical change and is now rather disappointing. The food was really dry, almost desiccated, borderline inedible. I cancelled a lunch booking I had made for today as a result and ate elsewhere.
