Very pleasant ambience
We have been to the restaurant before, and enjoyed Sunday lunch, we were not disappointed, it was very nice. As you were undergoing renovations it was very busy, and our table was squashed along side other guests, however we understand why this was. We did have to wait longer than usual for our food, but the drinks that were ordered first took 20 minutes to arrive. The other annoyance was trying to get into the building, exits were cut off, no signs for guidance, hence we were out of breath and frustrated when we arrived. Apart from these minor issues we will be looking forward to visiting you , hopefully in the not too distant future, many thanks ,
Situated next to large table with circa 8 or so who were
Extremely loud and a lot of bad language used
The waitresses and the manager were aware
Wonderful lunch and fantastic Christmas decorations. Ticked all the boxes
We visited for my dad’s birthday and it made his day. We had a lovely table by the window so we had a sea view. My dad did not stop remarking on how attentive the service was and I will add friendly and accommodating.
Food was delicious, between the 4 of us we tried most of the menu and no one was disappointed or had food envy!
We are planning to return again soon!
A very enjoyable meal in an excellent setting . The waitress was also very good ,and the only slight down side was we hoped to have a view of the sea front but our table was somewhat obscured from the view.
But no serious complaints whatsoever.
Very much recommended.
I think there was a staff shortage so service was slow. However they tried their best. The food was good and The Roslin always feels special.
We had a night away before our baby was due, started off with a spa treatment each, followed by a delicious meal. The pork cheek rigatoni was exceptional, we just both wish we had room for dessert.
Will definitely be going back.
At the arrival we had to wait as they couldn't find the booking. When ordering one of my guest asked to have the chicken breast without sweetcorn and after the waiter came back saying the chef explained the sweetcorn is the main ingredient in the menu as it's cooked 3 ways and not having sweetcorn would alter the original taste of the recipes, my guest asked if something else could be added instead. When the food was delivered the staff didn't ensure we had everything we needed, salt and pepper were missing and a check back wasn't given throughout the dinner. The chips were dry and far overcooked, the RibEye was uneatable, the duck breast was tough, chewy and overcooked, the haddock dish was oversalted. Everything was a complete disappointment and not worthy all that money!
Great setting, great food
Fabulous place to eat and drink!
This was my 5th time at the roslin and this was one of the best experiences yet all staff were attentive and made our afternoon most enjoyable
I treated my husband to a meal on the 8th January for his birthday.
The food was shocking and a waste of money.
The only nice thing was the waitress and the surrounding view
Birthday meal, so glad you had a choice of festive menu or a la carte!! A December birthday is always a gamble what menu u get!!
Food outstanding, service worth more than the service charge, beautiful evening, cannot fault,
Generally, the Roslin Beach Hotel Resturant was OK. I had a nice meal and the ambiance was reasonable. The service was odd.. we waited quite a while for anyone to come over when we arrived. When we did we were taken to our table, lets just say, without a 'without a welcoming smile' or actually any eye contact at all... one waiter was a little over zealous and the other miserable as sin. The food was OK, and I can't complain about it, but sadly not as good as I had been told. I know people who love this place and Im sure they'll be returning. Im not saying that I wouldn't go back, but I wouldn't be racing back any time soon and Im not sure I'd recommend it. So in a nutshell, it was ok but not patricularly memorable. Sorry Roslin Beach...
Fantastic hotel great staff , best Sunday lunch around .
This was to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and we had a table with a seaview which was just what we wanted. The service was excellent and we were not rushed even though two hours is normally allowed for each table for lunch.
Lovely meal in great surroundings. Can be a little hit & miss on the dining but, on this occasion it was faultless.
Wife’s Birthday greeted straight away complimentary bottle of bubbly attentive staff without being intrusive food lovely loved evening
Lovely experience! Lovely staff and great food. We ordered a second pot of tea, which was forgotten about; maybe because there were a few larger groups. They were however very apologetic about it! Would definitely come again!!!
Starting with the negatives: the roast beef which one of us chose was not quite as tender as expected, and we regretted that there was no bitter available only lagers. These were minor criticisms and overall we were very satisfied with the meal (Sunday Lunch), the general ambiance and the attentiveness of the staff. We will certainly go there again.
Great Resturante, good food and service , ambience just right. highly recommended
Lovely food. Great value for money. Lovely ambience
Nice venue for my mum's birthday. Booked well in advance and requested a table by the window with nice view of the sea. Waitress was excellent and food very good for the price. Only small negative we were left waiting to be greeted on arrival and I had to find someone to help us and take us to our table.
I will definitely be back
Service was quite poor. They said they couldn’t see our booking so we had to wait for a table to become free. As we were staying at the hotel we went back into our room and the manager said he’d call us once a table became free- maximum of 15 minutes. We waited half an hour and decided to go back down- still awaiting the phone call. We got seated this time. Ordered our food. One meal came and the other didn’t. The waitress who was really friendly and helpful said the other dish I had ordered hadn’t gone through to the kitchen. So we waited a further 15 minutes for that to come out. When we eventually got our food, it was lovely! Service was poor unfortunately...
We made a last minute booking and were delighted with our table. The ambience was lovely as the restaurant was buzzing with guests and decorated beautifully for Easter. Though clearly busy the staff took good care of us. Food and wine were great too. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you everyone :-)
Staff were pleasant but just not very well trained. Our waiter told us that the tuna steak could only be cooked medium or well done. The Tuna was listed in the grill section of the menu alongside all of the steaks, so he was convinced that it should come with a mushroom even though we requested a salad instead. When he came back from the kitchen he confirmed that we could have it rare with a salad. He then went on to ask us if we wanted the Peppercorn, Bearnaise or Blue cheese sauce with it..... My wife had the tuna - it was overcooked. I ordered the smokey venison - I was presented with a beautiful platter of rare medallions under a bell jar. The waiter then apologised for the lack of smoke under the bell jar - the chef's smoking gun was broken. I should have been told this when I ordered it - then he could have left the bell jar in the kitchen! The Venison was delicious - just a shame about the lack of smoke - I think it would have made it amazing.
Always excellent, good food, lovely surroundings, view and excellent attentive service
Excellent food and helpful, friendly staff. We stayed at the hotel and were able to keep the table for the whole evening.
Fantastic service and the attention to dateils by the waiting crew specially to anna ( waitress) attentive specially to kids , and very relax atmosphere,, definitely we will come back again,, and highly recommended to friends and family
Good service , good food , check bill as was overcharged for drinks.
The menu could have had more choice, however we all had fillet steak which was delicious if a little pricey, staff were good, the roslin is a very nice place to eat, the desserts were yummy !!
Normally I would give the Rolin a five star rating all round, but unfortunately on Saturday evening I'm not sure what went so wrong!
We were dining with friends we havn't Taken before and on this occasion They never saw this restaurant at its best. We are regular diners at the Roslin , and have enjoyed the experience every time. it will not stop us from coming as we know the normal standard is Excellent .
we had a table reservation for 7-15 pm , but. Didn't receive our starter untill 8-45 pm and then went on to wait ages for our main course , making it far to late to order a pudding.
We're. Hoping our friends will give it another chance , and. Find out just how Great it can be. I hasten to add the staff are always delightful and attentive and always make us feel welcome.
The hotel is being refurbished, still. When confirming my booking over the telephone they couldn’t find my booking, so rebooked adding 3 more people. I also updated my booking to say we would have a wheelchair. On the night we had to get the wheelchair up a big step and they had to be lifted up. What I would say that I’m so disappointed in were not informed that the disabled toilets were not in use, no one said this over the phone or even when we arrived it was only when my mum needed the bathroom after the starters we were then informed. Very disappointed!
Food service was very slow as waited an hour for starters and then another hour for mains plus 45minutes for desert
The staff needed to actually work, when you sit down ask if they want a drink even if waiting for people to arrive and offer the menu
Excellent food beautifully presented in very nice surroundings - and with a sea view. Courteous staff who were comfortably attentive.
This is the second time that I have eaten at the Roslin, this time for Sunday lunch.
The service and food are excellent, the ambience is good, the tables are rather close together, but that is OK if your dining neighbours are sociable and pleasant.
I will visit again, not frequently as the prices are too high for regular eating, but on special occasions or with special friends.
Our favourite restaurant, especially over Christmas when the decorations are second to none. We are never disappointed at the Roslin and have used the restaurant for numerous family celebrations.
Really nice surroundings, great food, very good value for money and great service what is there not to like. Was a good choice for our wedding anniversary.
