Every time I visit for afternoon tea I am not disappointed. Amazing food, amazing service, can’t wait to come back.
Definitely an experience. The service was amazing. I felt very welcomed. The scones... totally delicious.
We had a great time and were truly spoilt by the staff. The staff were very attentive and made the whole experience very special . An amazing birthday treat.
Very nice food, and pleasant atmosphere (with live piano music), but faltered when the bill was brought to the table as soon as the dessert course was taken away. We weren't offered more tea, sandwiches, or scones, as would be customary, and we felt we were being rushed out. This happened only one hour into our reservation. A server quickly returned to see if we had put in a card. We had to explain that we weren't finished, and we asked for more food (we had been told early on that we could request additional sandwiches later). This felt uncomfortable, and the server seemed confused. Our tea was not refreshed, leading us to specifically ask for more tea. Nothing was done to dispel the feeling that we outstayed our welcome.
Absolutely superb Afternoon Tea. The ambience was perfect and the staff were incredibly attentive. Allergies were noted and catered for! Seriously impressed, will definitely return to the Savoy. The food was fantastic.
I took my cousin and her daughter here for a Birthday treat. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we felt special and looked after. I cannot fault the service, we were looked after by Byron and Benito and they were wonderful. The Thames Foyer was lovely and the pianist really added to the atmosphere. About half way through our lovely food, the pianist began playing "Happy Birthday" and my cousin was given a small cake with a candle on a plate with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate. It absolutely made her day. It is touches like this that make the Savoy so special.
Overall the atmosphere was lovely and the service flawless. However, we were seated at a table for 6, and as we were just two we felt a little swamped/awkward. We had pointed out that one guest was coeliac (gluten free) at the time of booking. Yet for the first plate (sandwiches) the non-gluten-free plate had an additional tart and garnish which was not replaced with an alternative on the gluten free plate, so it felt a little bare in comparison.
Absolutely perfect in every possible way. The food, the service, the setting - perfect way to celebrate an important event.
Celebrated my Dad's 70th Birthday at The Savoy with an afternoon tea. A very relaxed and casual atmosphere
Had a wonders afternoon tea as a birthday celebration. Cannot fault anything, it was fabulous. Bottomless sandwiches, beautiful cakes and the service was outstanding.
Absolutely first class service. The staff were attentive without ever being overbearing, the afternoon tea delicious and the live music really made the overall ambience. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.
It was amazing in every way. We had the high tea with champagne- felt blissfully happy at the end. What a great experience for high tea in London in a perfect setting! Will return.
We had a afternoon tea as part of our 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration. The staff were lovely and the whole experience very, very special. Thank you.
A delightful experience. Lovely atmosphere with attentive and helpful, but not fussy, service.
The sandwiches, scones and cakes were super and a special mention must go to the amazing lemon curd!
I think that above all the staff appreciate that for many it is a special occasion which is being celebrated and they seem to go out of their way to be welcoming. The tables are well spaced, the music is melodic and not intrusive and there is a spacious airy feel to the room.
Very nice ambience, perfect for the occasion which was afternoon tea. Good selection of sandwiches, if anything too many rich cakes to get through, had to ask for a doggy bag!
Recommended for a relaxing experience.
Amazing! Beautiful venue at the Savoy Hotel. Elegant and perfect for our stay in London! Great afternoon.
The selection of piano musics is not suitable for the atmosphere.
Thankyou thankyou thankyou the perfect pre show treat for my 2 daughters and myself.wecame all the way from yorkshire for 2 days in London ,we will remember our afternoon tea for years
I could not have been more disappointed with high tea at the Savoy. Service personnel were rude and untrained, the food was mediocre, and most importantly the ambience was ruined by an invasively loud Muzak piano repertoire. What I hoped would be a lovely afternoon with two friends was nerve-wracking. Avoid this tourist trap and reserve a table at Fortum & Mason instead, where high tea is always impeccable.
When arriving at the bookes time - our table was not Ready.
The waiter did not have eyes for our Breda and We had to Call upon him several times.
We were charged extra for morer than the initial pot of tea.
I was bitterly disappointed. I had saved long and hard to treat my daughter for her 18th birthday high tea.
I wrote on my booking that we were celebrating her birthday and they FORGOT her. I was mortified but she didn’t want me to make a fuss.
The 12.5% additional cost is outrageous.
The food was non-descript and uninspiring.
I do not feel good about having paid over£150 for a few sandwiches, 4 scones and a few pots of mousse. In fact I felt depressed about the waste for a whole day after.
This was our first experience at the Savoy for Afternoon Tea. Our expectation was extremely high, due to the venue being the Savoy and of course seeing videos and pictures. The finger sandwiches were nothing but bland. Then the scones and cakes came out, again all lacking flavour. The Apple compote choux pastry didn't have any apple taste other than the slice of real apple on the top. The Pineapple Cheesecake was soggy and slimy. On a positive not the waiter was lovely and tea was good. Would not recommend this Afternoon Tea, unless you really want to say you have been to the Savoy. I have used the Savoy for many years when the Champagne bar was at the Entrance and the American. I don' think i will be using it again.
The type of music although beautiful was simply too loud I would suggest a cord instrument like harp this will easy alloud people to talk and enjy the music at the same time
We took our niece for Afternoon Tea as a special treat on her birthday. The scones and petit four were simply delicious. Service was polite and excellent and finally the pianist played " Happy Birthday' tune and that was the icing on the cake. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
I last came here in April 1987 with my grandma and my mum. Now it was time to return with my daughter and my mum. The ambience is mesmerising. The food outstanding and the food memories came flooding back. If you are looking for something for a special occasion with pomp and great service this is the occasion for you. As soon as the doorman opened the car door my daughter was taken aback. Every need was taken care of. A great afternoon, I hope I don’t have to wait another 30 years to come back again!
We really feeled very well taken care of and enjoyed a heavenly afternoon tea experience.
Very nice selection of sandwiches scones and tea, however the cake selection was very sweet and nothing special.
Great venue for something rather special. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
The savoy hotel itself is a lovely place and all of the staff are very helpful and friendly.
I have been here a number of times for both evening meal and afternoon tea and always found it exceptional.
Excellent special birthday celebration, absolutely perfect.
Great ambiance with live piano and superb service. The sandwiches were all so good, and never had such soft and tasteful scone in my life. Petits Gâteaux were delicate and creative, but regret that I couldn’t finish them all, as one of them was a little too sweet for me.
A great place that a must to visit for Afternoon Tea with a cozy romantic atmosphere. You can even feel the elegance of the old time
Food was great the whole thing was good but the service let the whole day down.
Lovely atmosphere for my husbands birthday- good food - far too much, especially liked the warm scones
Great welcome, fantastic food and lovely relaxing atmosphere
Nice for a special occasion. Spacious foyer and tables not too close together which made it feel quite private. Pianist was very good. The food was good but no better than any other hotel afternoon tea that I have been to. Service was excellent and the staff very pleasant. Overall I would go again mainly for the ambience and feeling of total relaxation that a few hours in the Thames Foyer gave me.
Fabulous,staff very knowledgable and attentive.
Not the cheapest but worth every penny.
A very pleasant experience particularly for my wife on her Special birthday. The food was excellent and our waitress Daisy was very attentive and good company.I feel she will do well in the industry.
The ambiance is always first class at the Savoy which makes it the first venue for special occasions
A very special afternoon.
The service is above and beyond par. Sam - our waiter - did an excellent job making sure we were continually satisfied.
Lovely experience for a 50th Anniversary Tea.
We stayed at the Savoy for a week. When booking our accommodations we chose our room with daily breakfast. Having this option did not disappoint. The menu selection allowed us to select something different every morning. Everything was delicious, the fresh juice, tea, every meal! (Allow at least an hour for breakfast. ) Our first morning we lost track of time and our server suggested we take pastries and fruit to take away. Every other day we planned an hour to enjoy our breakfast.
