The Thames Foyer is the heart of The Savoy hotel and the perfect venue for light, informal dining. Its reinstated glass cupola, based on a guest's drawing, once again allows natural daylight to flood in on even the darkest day. The centrepiece of the room is the magnificent new winter garden gazebo.

Guests can also indulge in Afternoon Tea in this comfortable and intimate spot accompanied by the hotel's resident pianist. Afternoon Tea at The Savoy is an enduring custom where guests can choose from a range of teas served with finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream & jam and a mouthwatering selection of cakes and pastries.

Afternoon Tea starts from £60.00 per person.

My son and I had afternoon tea at the Savoy and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There was beautiful piano playing as background. The food was delicious and the service terrific.

My husband and I enjoy the service and quality of food at the Savoy for afternoon tea. We also enjoy the piano player, she is very talented. There were several very young girls at tea that got a little vocal a few times, that we didn't enjoy so much. But that is the parents and not the restaurant's fault. We found some jewellery on display outside the restaurant from Boodles; that we ended up getting a piece from. Boodles is just around the corner upstairs from the restaurant.

This is a fantastic place for a special occasion afternoon tea except for our experience. We were there three years ago and what I am about to say didn't apply to that experience.
A gentleman got us started with a brisk and incomplete explanation of what the experience would be. Fortunately, since we had been there before, we knew what you got. But for the price, there should be a very clear description. After that we didn't see him much. He said his assistant would be helping and she was delightful. So we enjoyed the tea and food very much. When we were ready for the check, both the man and the woman were nowhere to be seen. It was late in the afternoon and we think it must have been at the end of the shift. They were gone. Eventually, someone from across the room saw we were getting impatient and came to help us.

Quite pleasant with outstanding service and very plentiful food. Pastries, however, stodgy and somewhat unappealing. Rather peculiar clotted cream.

Our first afternoon tea in London was elegant and pleasant experience. Food was tasty, tea was excellent (although served a bit late). Although I recommend having afternoon tea at any of the elegant hotels in London, I can’t justify the price we paid (£60 per person).

Service was good and afternoon tea was excellent. I love hot tea and would want the restaurant to look into how to keep your tea hot. Overall, it was a nice experience. Love the ambience and the pianist was excellent.

As I have only be to one other high tea in England I only have the one in Devon to compare with, which had an excellent high tea. Your tea, tho, did address our food priorities and concerns

For our 50th wedding anniversary we thought that we would push the boat out, and take afternoon tea. So we did, but at least we had so much to eat that we didn't have to buy dinner that night. The ambience was superb, the staff were most attentive, the food was delicious and the people watching was hilarious.

The sandwiches although fresh and a good amount of filling were not very imaginative, also the pastry selection focussed too much on chocolate plus battenburg is very boring every time. The service and location were excellent.

A very enjoyable, relaxing afternoon. Excellent sandwiches and cakes - I recommend the coronation chicken filling! The highlight, however were the staff who were excellent - attentive but not overbearing and made us feel very much at home.

Highly recommended

My daughter and I had a wonderful Afternoon Tea. The staff were friendly and informative, formal but not stuffy. We felt very comfortable having our first English Tea! The food was yummy, especially the Coronation Chicken and the desserts. The Lasang Tea haunts us! It was an experience we very much enjoyed.

The experience was fabulous, live piano playing in the central atrium set the mood for a relaxed afternoon tea. We went for the savoury option, sandwiches were good not exceptional, scones were wonderful, salmon and poached egg on a blini with hollandaise sauce was also lovely.
The top up of tea sandwiches and scones was nice but you can only eat so much!.
The service was superb , friendly and not stuffy.
The Savoy afternoon tea is a great start to an evening at the theatre and a real treat especially as the cost reflects where you are.

We loved our afternoon tea at the Savoy. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable and the tea was piping hot. We had Elizabeth look after us and she did an amazing job, and even took a handful of photos of us to mark the occasion which was so nice! The atmosphere with the piano and overall airy ambiance makes it an experience that is worthwhile and unforgettable.

A super afternoon Tea experience in the Thames Foyer. The staff are friendly and get it that for most this is an expensive treat. Our 9 year old had read about Prince Kasper the savoy cat and wanted to see for herself where he lived. The place and people didn’t disappoint. Five stars

We enjoyed excellent service and courtesy from all aspects of the hotel, from the cloakroom, cocktail bar and afternoon tea. The piano accompaniment contributed musically to the ambiance of the wonderful setting. Table service was exemplary as was the sandwiches, scones, cakes and selection of tea. A memorable celebration.

Very very disappointed!!!
5 sandwiches 2 scones & 4 small pastries £67 other tables were getting 4 other sweets as well as the 4 I had possible extra birthday treat as they had a birthday cake slice too with candle delivered with Happy Birthday played by the pianist!
I have tried Afternoon Teas around the world & this was top on my list especially the fact it was hard to get a booking certainly need to book in advance!
The food & price don't balance out even with the live music & the scones weren't light & fluffy as you would expect!
Wouldn't recommend!

Really lovely experience last Saturday. The service was wonderful and we felt very well looked after. The lounge was relaxing and it was a pleasure to have afternoon tea here. We were not hurried and we were catered for very well, including remembering my friend's birthday. Sandwiches and patisserie were fabulous. Would recommend for a special occasion.

It is hard to fault the Savoy afternoon tea. Sure, it's expensive, but the first-class service, the relaxed but classy ambience and the top-notch food justify it. My only gripe? The scones were slightly dry, and I mean slightly.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The classiest, most wonderful experience I could have hoped for! The service was impeccable, the ambiance - perfect! The food was tasty and tea yummy, but the real attraction was the vibe and feel of authentic London and the relaxation of an afternoon tea (I’m from NYC so the calm and beauty of the room was just the ticket for a peaceful afternoon!). Enjoyed every moment, worth every penny for the champagne afternoon experience. Can’t wait to bring my fiancé one day (who will then be my husband!).

Champagne Afternoon Tea experience was given to my sister in law for her 65th Birthday. After booking table 12 weeks in advance as advised and confirming reservation the night before, it was disappointing to have 3 different members of staff ask my name at time of reservation before being seated. Also we were presented with a bill even though we had already given a prepaid voucher to the maitre de when we checked in. Staff in general were very attentive but not up to the Ritz standard.
