The Smith - East Village
Excellent reception and promptly seated. Salomon, our server was very attentive and genuinely friendly. The support staff bussed the table without being asked- this makes for a more relaxing dining experience.
But, the noise level was overwhelming. I could not focus on our conversation and my guests commented on the annoying noise level.
Our meals were well prepared and arrived at table without delay.
It was too loud for a date but still fun
Food was bland and service just about acceptable. There are better place to grab food in NYC.
Muy rica comida con excelente servicio
The Smith is always a solid choice. Good food and location.
Easy and versatile menu, great for friends or corporate dinner
The Smith has a decent brunch with very good Eggs Benedict and a tasty Bloody Mary. However, the noise levels can be excruciating when it's full. Service is friendly and helpful.
Always love The Smith! Great place to go with friends
The server was great and the acoustic was loud
Food was not the best I had pork and dry
Overall nice restaurant, atmosphere. Food is good, service is better, a bit expensive. Caesar's Salad as a main entrée was more the size of an appetizer salad, not a main course, so would now order that again.
Great experience. Food and service were outstanding. Some tables get a little loud.
Buen servicio y comida. Lugar espacioso, ideal para grupos de +6 personas.
Fun fast paced delicious food. Great cocktails.
I love the Smith. I always bring dates here because I don’t know where else to take them.
I really love this place. My second time for dinner here and it was great! The Mac and cheese is to die for 😍
Our food was amazing and our server was very attentive. We didn't wait to be seated as we had a reservation and the food came out fairly fast.
I had a steak salad and it had super tender fairly big chunks of steak and the balsamic dressing was outstanding.
My boyfriend had mussels and the bowl was overflowing with them!
Great taste for good price.
Great server. Food was good - not amazing but good. It’s a loud restaurant made louder by having the front opened to the outside so street noise added to it (and diluted the air conditioning on a hot day). Friendly.
Our host Alex was super attentive and very polite! My date and I had a wonderful time.
Veggie bibimbap bowl was amazing. So was the eggplant!
The food and the service are outstanding. It's a really nice place to go with friends or someone special. Love it
Super busy & very noisy but brunch choices are always very tasty.
The Smith as almost always is fantastic! Food is phenomenal.
Went for a birthday with a group of 12. Food was great service was outstanding ambience was ideal for a Saturday brunch.
Overall a decent meal. We went for brunch and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I had the eggs benedict and one was over cooked. Bloody Mary was good. Would try again
Had my bday brunch here. I love The Smith already, but this recent visit reminded me just how good the french toast and bacon are! Everyone was very pleased with everything. BTW, I got engaged that day too. The Smith made it special by preparing and decorating a dessert for me that said "Congratulations!"
I had a BLT+E sandwich. The egg was so messy I couldn't lift up the sandwich. The bacon was so tough, I couldn't use a knife and fork. Because I was with a client and didn't want to make a big deal about it, but if I hadn't been, I would have sent it back. It was disappointing and I barely could eat anything.
The Smith East Village was excellent for many reasons. We had dinner reservations on a Saturday at 6:15. We were seated immediately Our waitress was attentive to both our daughters’ food allergies ( peanuts and tree nuts) and the manager also came over to review the restaurant’s thorough allergy-safe practices. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The food was well- prepared and delicious. Thank you!
Great food, busy, lively atmosphere. The Smith has been getting it done in NYC for years. The food is always good, the crowd always hip. Great after work place and amazing Brunch on weekends.
I go to the Smith all the time. Everything I order is always delicious and always consistent even though their produce changes seasonally and their menu gets updated relatively frequently. This time there was an small issue with my order. I suspect the waitress forgot to put it in. But she was honest in letting me know their was a pretty significant delay with my meal. I was a party of five and I was content with my cocktail and happy to wait. Not only did she comp my dish but she sent me home with three ewwwyy gewwwy chocochip cookies on the house. And each cookie was the size of my head. No place can be perfect all the time and errors happen but they own up to it and treat their customers right. :) I will always be a loyal customer to the Smith.
Much tooooooo noisy to return
Could not hear each other speak without shouting. Waiter was great
Food is mediocre; service is excellent. Just a little better quality would make a huge difference.
Went for brunch. The customer service was outstanding. The food is always tasty. I would definitely recommend.
This place is usually my go to with friends visiting from out of town. This time I went to celebrate with my fiancé and the waiter was terrible! He was all over the place and find that I needed to nearly choke to get his attention. I’m not sure if services are better on the weekdays, but definitely not coming back on a Saturday.
A little too noisy, but otherwise an excellent experience.
Amazing scallop special, fair shishito peppers, great hummus. Service was perfect but way overpriced. Otherwise a great experienceZ
the food didn't seem as good as other The Smith's. It was slightly off...
Amazing waitress. Brunch food was delicious!
This place is great! The food is delicious, and the drinks are excellent and strong. We went here for my husbands birthday dinner and had an amazing time. Good service. Good food. Good bevs!
