Excellent food but service was dissapointing, staff were not very friendly and we felt as if we were being rushed out as quickly as possible even though the restaurant was not at all busy
They were in too much hurry that we need to be out in 2 hours. We started with drinks and low on food which they didn’t seem to appreciate much. For four of us out check was 200£. May be wrong assumptions on how much we will mull. Could hv had few more rounds of drinks..
A very nice lunch in a lovely setting beside the canal.
Everything was great from the moment we walked in - good food and service.
A perfect place to spend a warm, sunny evening. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the food was superb. We will definitely be returning!
A highly recommended place for weekend brunch. The food was very good and the place is set beautifully along Regent's Canal. Minus for not providing non-dairy milk options, but apart from that, everything was very good.
Vibrant relaxed atmosphere, all our food tasted very fresh, well presented with good service
This is the loveliest restaurant in London, tucked away on the canal. Gorgeous setting, top staff, lovely food and wine. Really cannot fault this stunning restaurant.
This was our first visit to The Summerhouse. The food and service were good. The sharing appetizer meze were quite good and attractively served. We all had the special which was Arctic Char. It was delicious and served attractively. The Summerhouse’s unique location is its main selling point. It is on the canal in Maida Vale quite close to Little Venice. Based upon this experience, we shall return!
I called and requested if we can have a table of 8 instead of 4 so that my friends can join. The guy over the phone said he would call back in the morning on the day to confirm. It’s totally fine and I requested to keep the table for 4 of us even they can’t offer us a table of 8. I didn’t receive any call that morning. My friend called to the restaurant and someone offered her two seats can be added to our table. She didn’t confirm to take the offer and she sent her girl to join us. So we had 5 in total. When we arrived the restaurant on time, we confirmed with the manager that we have 5 in total and he said it’s fine and sent us to the table (a table for 8). We were saying that oh how come they didnt tell us there is enough room for 8, so that my friends can all join. In the middle of our meal, the manager came with a straight face and told us that we need to pay for 8 instead of 5 because we made a reservation for a table of 8. I explained to him and he kept saying that he has the call recorded showing that we confirm a table of 8. I said that’s not true, I made a reservation for 4 and I didn’t receive any confirmation for a table of 8 that’s why I only brought my friend’s little girl to join us that made us 5 in total instead of 4. The manager was mean and didn’t let me finish me words and asked me to ask the one who called to confirm the table of 8! I said no one called to confirm a table of 8 and actually no one offered us a table of 8 over the phone. They end up moved one small table from the end of our big table to set a table for 2 and that was kept empty until we almost done. Food was good but we didn’t have the mood to enjoy after the rude manger came to disturb us in the middle of the meal. The worst experience in London restaurants.
Beautiful seafood and in a lovely setting. They even have heaters and blankets for the colder months so definitely a place to try at any time of the year!
Nice environment and kind staff.
To bad the waitor wasn’t educated on the winelist. 45£ on a wine that we ourself mentioned with no feedback was a dissapointment.
Otherwise good food and worth the price.
Thank you guys for making our first date magical! Amazing service and food!
We had a wonderful experience overlooking the canal with boats and swans
Though a little slow, the staff was able to accommodate my table and dessert request for the birthday reservation. Had the special of the day (Pollock with gnocchi- really delicious!) And the fish and chips (very tasty but also heavy unfortunately). Cute decor, romantic and fun
All okay but service not what you’d describe as friendly and food pub standard but about 30% more expensive. Hard to get the staff to crack a smile - with the expectation of the older lady at the front door, who was lovely.
Boring food! Fried calamaris was soggy and bland.
Lovely place, excellent food but portion of Risotto was a little disappointing.
Staff weren't attentive early on and plates were removed far too quickly. One waiter was hovering ready to pounce! Not relaxing.
Otherwise very good and will return.
Great place for Brunch!
Food was not great. My sirlon steak was not properly cooked and the sea trout portion was way too small. Moreover the service was messy as food did not come all at the same time (e.g. icecream came separetly for me and my sister). Furthermore, we ordered a jug of pimms and the waitresses did not pour it in the glasses but just left the job half done as she only poured the liquid from the jar without helping herself with the wooden spoon to poor ice and fruits in our glasses. I took the service off our £200 bill because I was not satisfied with the overall service. I would still recommend it.to a friend for the location on a sunny day.
Diners beware! Whilst you may request a window table, unless you’re known to staff you will not be given such a table. I have dined here now on multiple occasions and made the same request each time and not once has my request been granted! For shame.
Love this place. Lovely setting on the river. Great food at reasonable prices and very warm and friendly staff.
We come here to celebrate my late sister’s life on her birthday every year because she so loved The Summerhouse. The food and service were as always excellent and what could be better than sitting next to the canal in blazing sunshine enjoying oysters and a brilliant superfood salad?
This is a great place on the canal to have an enjoyable breakfast. My only gripe - and it's a small one - is that I would like a choice of bread/toast at breakfast, rather than no choice at all (and just getting rather a plain brown). Otherwise, very enjoyable.
Good Friday 7:30pm half of the menu was already sold out and no more catch of the day. I appreciate it was bank holiday weekend and weather amazing but I was expecting the restaurant better managing its stock. Ended up ordering what left available so not completely satisfied of the whole experience.
Wonderful as usual - thank you ❤️
The welcome was good, the Maitre was very efficient and hospitable the waiting staff left a lot to be desired. Food very good cocktails not so good.
A sunny day so lovely to eat all fresco.
Made to feel very welcome. Lovely food and friendly, efficient service.
Fairly nice atmosphere. Food was decent - the scallops starter presentation could've been a bit better, and the black pudding was a bit hard (over cooked slightly). But the main of sea bass was delicious.
My only issue was the table location - all the tables for two are located in the main passageway so there were always people walking too and fro so it didnt feel relaxed. Tables for 4 are all by the window/canal so suffer less from traffic. There was also a hot air conditioning right above our table which meant is was pretty hot at our table but they turned it down when requested.
A lovely secluded spot with a beautiful view of the canal.
Great atmosphere right on the canal, fantastic cocktails, food and wine. And the toffee pudding and sundae made for a great dessert!
Lovely venue and the food was delicious!
Lovely atmosphere. Amazing salmon and amazing eggs.
Oysters were beautifully fresh and the food selection was excellent. A most delicious meal. I would definitely go back.
Wonderful restaurant. Food was delicious. Staff were lovely and helpful. Great wine choices and perfect ambience for any occasion.
Have been to Summerhouse a few times, but not recently, for Sunday lunch. Usually enjoyed it very much, however on this visit thought the lunch menu was expensive, so instead had brunch. It was ok, but not as good as many cafes at which I regularly brunch & quite a bit more expensive. Added to which, some items had run out, e.g halloumi, an ingredient of the vegetarian breakfast. Ambience, as ever, good & the service was fine.
Previously would have recommended, now not sure.
This is the first time i travel in london, and found here by google map, so actually u know how nervous before i had the foods. But actually no need to worry at all, everything there is wonderful, i already told my friend to have a reservation
Excellent interlude on the canal, perfectly prepared ‘catch of the day’ accompanied by a delightful glass or two of Malbec ..
