A lovely breakfast in a lovely setting - made to feel very welcome with two young kids. Will be back ASAP.
Been visiting this restaurant for some years now. It doesn't get it 100% right 100% of the time, but like a good friend, I no longer worry about the minor negatives as it's a friendly place with well intentioned service and a consistently high standard of cooking. I've never had a poor meal or a bad experience.
Excellent service and the food was delicious!!
Would definitely recommend and will be returning soon!
Magnifique. A refaire avec plus de temps.
Cosy, clean and light environment on a cold Winter’s day. Great decor with lots of nice plants and a good atmosphere. Food was very good, as was the recommended dry rose wine. Good service and attention to detail too. Will definitely return and would recommend highly.
Lovely Christmas meal, friendly service and really pretty surrounding.
We expected good food and atmosphere, but what particularly impressed us was the friendliness of the service, which is not always the case with destination restaurants. From the Maitre D to the servers the service was friendly and highly professional. I would definitely go back.
Staff always delightful - food is always exceptional (I have the large fish to share which I love).
Looked particularly pretty and festive
No complaints - a winner restaurant.
I had eaten once before at the Summerhouse, probably in summer, and remembered it as noisy but enjoyable. The food then seemed good, if pricey. This second visit, in winter, was quite different. The menu was enticing, but all 5 of us agreed that the food was mediocre to poor, especially at these prices. The service was patchy. I shan't return.
It was lovely.
Fantastic atmosphere. Great food, as always.
And the staff brought a birthday cake for my mother’s birthday, she will never forget it! :)
Very, very unprofessional place!
Great location, good food and perfect setting for a catch up with old friends!
I found that The Summerhouse was an earthly, comfortable restaurant in which my family and I could rest and forget about the struggles of our daily lives. The food was exceptional, but it wasn't.
This was my second visit and the first in the winter - I was a bit nervous it would be cold but absolutely not - well heated. Had a great lunch - all the food was excellent. Great selection of starters and I was spoiled for choice. Would highly recommend
Friendly Local canalside (probably best in summer!) restaurant with extensive and interesting menu. Good service. Reasonable value for the area.
Beautiful location and very festive , great menu well prepared.
This restaurant is always a pleasure to go to, the food is consistently good, not bad value for money service pretty good as well and it's clearly a local popular restaurant that has stood the test of time
Very welcoming !! Very good brunch !! Comfortable place :D
Lovely venue, friendly staff, excellent food. Love dining here.
Had a lovely meal again. This restaurant is close to where is live and is rapidly becoming my 'go to' local. My only winge is the cost of a bottle of wine .... not just this restaurant ... I resent paying nearly £30 + service charge, for a bottle of wine that has a retail value of no more than £15 in a wine shop. The restaurant adds no value to the product, compared to the food to which it adds massive value, with expertise and flair.
Wonderful dining experience for our first night in London! Set the tone for a festive and fun week ahead.
Felt summery despite heavy rain outside. We could have been at the seaside - loved it and will come again
Romantic neighborhood gem with a view on the Little Venice canal.
We love this restaurant! It is very local and because we love fish we are regulars. The sea bass was stunning.
Love this place! Highly recommended. Been here before and would definitely come back!
Lovely venue as always - my food was lovely but my husband said his wasn't as good as usual. However, the friendly staff made up for this and a good evening was had by all !
Nice location and cozy setting. Grilled mackerel was tasty and portion was more than reasonable,
Overall nice restaurant with friendly service and lovely view over the canal but food is nothing extraordinary, good but usual traditional fish dishes. You pay for location mainly!
They charged the most. They did not match the set menu
Very lovely place but always have run out of specials or fish and chips if you go for a later lunch sitting
The food and atmosphere here is wonderful. It is on the pricey side but worth it for those special occasions.
A lovely lunch, great food as always!
It was a gathering of six family members. It was our first visit even though we’re live locally
Full restaurant on arrival, warm ambience, staff friendly and efficient Our table was canal waterside
Luckily blankets were on our chairs which were used and appreciated by some of our party The waiter surprised our birthday guest with a mini desert and candle - nice fun touch
Our overall comments would describe our meals as “ just ok” .
The shelled prawns on the sharing platter were tasteless, my sons enjoyed the other items on the platter My husbands main dish of fish was just ok My mashed potatoes and spinach with my salmon dish was tasteless We all ordered starters, mains and desert so feel we as a group ate a good selection of food and thus able to comment as “mediocre food all round”. Would we return ...my son said he would probably would to sample their brunch menu
Lovely restaurant in a great location. No gluten free bread was available for brunch but after speaking to the owner they are going to start offering it soon
Nice fish restaurant on the canal. Friendly service and great menu.
Lovely meal - service from kitchen was very slow - amazing waiter had to apologise to use as we waited 35 mins between starter and main course. Shame as location, ambience and attentiveness was all great.
Nice restaurant - the 1kg seebass was really good!
Every time we land in London we book a table at the Summerhouse. As usual, we were given a table facing the counter, a busy area where the staff are based, despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't full and it was a Thursday evening. Yet, faced with my remark the manager offered another table. As usual we chose the Sancerre (white). This time its temperature wasn't good but a solution was promptly offered: an ice bucket, but no napkin (it was provided upon request). As usual too, we ordered the whole baked sea bass to share and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and almost competent. The ice cream was very good and the new chocolate mousse, with several pistachio nuts on top, would get a 5 star if it were a darker.. But we still miss the first version of the cheery chocolate pot. We will return.
The restaurant was quaint and special. I did specifically book for a birthday and I am not sure they really did set aside a table for us as it was a 4 seater and they changed it to 2 when we arrived.
There seem to be a really big table next to us and unfortunately the service was poor as a result. Food was brilliant but the service was very slow and quite poor.
Otherwise it was a good evening and I'd like to come back.
Same as before, and before that. We love the Summerhouse, and will always go there for occasions.
