Very busy, service was good. Not a big menu but food was good and reasonable price.
Good quick service. Staff polite and efficient. Food attractively presented and of high quality
Fab food and service as always. The seafood medley was amazing 👏
Went here to meet up with work colleagues that I haven’t seen for a while as we all work in different depts.
greeted with a smile and warmth. Shown to our table and was asked if we wanted drinks. It took a while for our third guest to arrive and we’re chatting for ages. Staff very attentive and when we ordered the food was absolute lovely freshly cooked and piping hot.
More drinks and more chatting the place is lovely and the staff are absolutely lovely, friendly and observant. After a couple of hours we were stuffed and satisfied we had put the world to rights the Swan at Whittington is a wonderful place and the staff and food perfect in every way 💛
Eat regularly at The Swan with friends and family, always a lovely meal and great service.
Nice venue, friendly attentive staff, food was quite good (pizza very good), I found the Chicken Kiev’s a bit weird chicken no taste & the outer Covering couldn’t tell you what it was 🤷♀️would not order again.
We had a delicious Sunday roast dinner at The Swan, Whittington. There was plenty of different choices of roast. Service was prompt and friendly.
Lovely food, all the meals were brilliant. Friendly service. Meals slightly expensive, but good quality
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Swan at Whittington. Service was amazing, great atmosphere and the food was delicious!
We had a vegan in the party - it was great to see a vegan menu albeit it was a little limited.
Will definitely be back :)
Very slow service considering it was very quiet, we had to go the bar a couple of times to ask for service because it was taking a long time to clear plates and re order drinks. We felt the menu choice was not as good as it has been in the past.
Hopes were high after seeing The Swans menu online, however they were quickly shattered by inattentive slow service and poor food quality
• mixed bread to share - bread was dried out and tasteless
• chicken strips - over cooked & soggy
• haddock goujons - soggy and oily
• seafood medley - although scallops were well cooked, the dish as a whole was forgettable
• King Fillet - unremarkable, steak was tasteless and looked sloppy covered in sauce that was over powering
• lemon & passion fruit meringue smash - description mentioned chantillí cream but it was missing
Total came to over £100 which included 1.5 pints of cider and two soft drinks
Lovely late Saturday lunch with family and pooch lovely food and great service thank you
Really lovely pub for a family meal, good choice on the menu and great quality. We enjoyed our meal and have booked again!
Really good service and amazing food. Would definately recommend to a friend
Very good service and nice, convenient location. The food was outstanding. I can honestly say that the fish in particular was the best I have been served with. Light, golden batter and fresh, flaky cod. Despite not being a great mushy pea fan, the squashy pile of green was fresh & delicious with just the right hint of mint.
Prompt & polite service too.
Normally happy to give a tip if everything was OK but disappointed to see that a 10% service charge had automatically been added to the bill. Nearly put another 10% on until thinking the overall bill seemed a bit expensive I checked it thoroughly!
Didn't notice any reference to a service charge on the menu.
A very nice pub to stop at on the way to Cotswolds .Lunch was good and a very good choice .Would definitely recommend ,so much better than stopping at service station
Roast beef was a poor quality, and roast chicken was dry. There were 4 waiting staff talking in the bar most of the time, backs to us.
Poor customer service, I had phoned on Saturday to see if the Blue light card would be valid on Sunday, the man asked the manager to verify and she said blue light cards were valid all day Sunday. When paying the waitress said she could not accept it on a Sunday, she went to ask the manager, a lady, who came out with the bill she did not even speak to meat give me eye contact.
We will most definitely not be coming back and we will advise our friends to avoid the Swan at Whittington. We were very disappointed indeed.
For the money, the size of the Sunday lunch was disappointing. Quality of the food however was lovely and the staff were all very friendly. The ceiling leaked above us due to a very heavy downpour and the manager did not seem overly bothered when we mentioned the water had got into the electrical sockets and lights.
Good overall, but disappointed with the quality of the Sunday roast dinner on this occasion. Roast potatoes were tough to cut, as if they had been warmed up more than once, and the food overall could have been hotter.
Pub was lovely, not loud and drinks were nice. Service was super slow and we ended up taking the bill to the bar to pay. We waited so long we didn’t have pudding! My friend enjoyed her burger but there was way too much cheese on the pizza, you could hardly taste the other toppings. This has happened the past 4 times we have been which is a shame as the pub is lovely!
Beakfast was tasty and service was great. We’ll be back.
Great attentive service from all staff. Food was delicious, good choice and served in good time.
Always a good atmosphere, enjoyable evening.
No table service, they also missed parts of the meal. The portions were good however the food was a little cold and I feel it is a little expensive for what it is.
The team were extremely helpful in assisting me to arrange a lunch. Everybody I spoke to enjoyed themselves and thought the food was lovely
Very attentive service and delicious food. We went on a Sunday for 80th birthday lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food
The bill did not apply my 'regular customer' discount and a 10% Serevice was applied but we had not noticed any reference to such a charge in/on the menu.
Sunday lunch was tasty and good portion but perhaps a little expensive.
Service was excellent and a nice ambience in the pub.
Always good service in small seating areas. Staff friendly and good choice of food.
Great kids options and sizes
A bit disappointed with veggie options- veggie bangers didn’t taste great
Lovely desserts and good sizes
Service was great though
Dog and child friendly but Sophisticated dining
Lovely lunch, nice place to eat. Staff are great.
Good food and drink served by friendly staff in a spacious dining room with great atmosphere.
Second time I've visited inside a week; perfect stop just off J7 of M5 with quality breakfast and good service.
I met a client for lunch so would have been good to have table service rather than having to keep going to the bar. The food was good but service was slow.
Excellent lunch as usual with friends who immediately booked for Xmas Lunch. That says it all.
Lovely restaurant, we were a party of four and each of us enjoyed the different meal we ate. We’ll be back soon.
The Swan is such a lovely place to eat and have a drink. The food is always superb, we always go there for special occasions.
Not one to leave reviews but last night was amazing. The food was incredible! I am Ceoliac and eating out is usually either impossible or boring. Not the case here, plenty of options with knowledgeable staff. Will definitely be returning. Thanks all.
Food good and if you don't want an item they will remove, although not offered alternative!
Great food, great service, great place. Something for everyone's taste and pocket.
