The meal was lovely & the atmosphere was lovely too & we very much enjoyed it & would recommend it! The main thing we felt was that the tables were definitely not 2m apart & in fact we could have easily spaced out more as there quite a few empty tables beside us! It was quite concerning considering the rising infection rates! There was actually a family very close to us & someone sneezed & it was extremely close so we felt a bit unsafe!
Lamb shanks x 2 in a smart restaurant. Service very good. House wine very good. Thoroughly nice experience
Farewell meal for family before return to UAE by some. The night before Tier 3 lockdown. Food up to it's usual high standard with seemingly more generous portions. Felt to be less staff than on previous occasions with order taking longer to arrive than in previous visits. Not a problem as allowed ample time for goodbye chat. Also perfectly understandable in the circumstances.
Will I go again? You bet. Just as soon as able to.
Great service in lovely surroundings. Food and beer were great and the staff lovely - will return (when allowed!) :-)
Had a very disappointing experience at lunchtime on Tuesday this week. Usually lovely food and great service however this time, the drinks were flat, the starter was almost cold, the mains took 45 minutes to be served after the staters despite the pub being quiet, the chips were undercooked, staff seemed really fed up (hence why we still gave them a tip at the end). All in all the service and experience was poor and 100% not value for money, I often recommend it but wouldn’t again.
Excellent food, the chicken burgers were amazing. Lovely setting very quiet, loved the conservatory
Amazing halloumi fries, lovely atmosphere, great staff, only thing that let is down for us was the chips, they’re too chunky, and really quite tasteless, a bit undercooked. Can imagine they need a long time to cook with how thick they are. But I Would definitely go again.
Food was lovely apart from Eton mess disappointing as had no meringue
Also social distancing wasn’t brilliant as tables should have been spaced out or more of the space used in the restaurant, felt uncomfortable when table next to us was seated
Service not up to usual standards. Atmosphere just wasn’t there considering it was Xmas Eve. Food was good but the overall experience has been better previously
We booked one of the Igloo Pods for 6 for our wedding meal and it was magical. A perfect end to our perfect day 💕
Was very disappointed with main meals. Risotto very bland and the roast turkey was very fatty, chewy and had bones in. Won’t be returning.
Polite friendly staff, great food & atmosphere. Clean with good Covid measures in place.
Prompt and efficient welcome.
Seated quickly.
Tables and customers well spaced.
Great food and service.
Very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Feel safe in the environment. Staff and service always first class. Food equally as good.
Merry Christmas
Beautiful fillet steak, perfectly cooked. Good value sauvignon and perfect evening with my daughter. Thank heavens for tier two 😊
Very quiet , felt very safe. Quick, efficient service. Had steaks and burgers- good quality as usual.
Very average food, not good value at all. The service is poor. Won’t be going back
Food good and all social distancing measures in place.
Service perfect and food incredible. My favourite place for a spot of lunch with the other half.
Lovely service, great food! A lovely place to eat and nice and friendly
Lovely ambience. Staffing levels always seem low here, so you have to ask for service. Food is good. I ordered the carrot and orange soup and it was quite spicy hot. It said it comes with crusty bread, but was different kinds of bread and no butter. The mulled wine was amazing!!
No dairy free milk alternatives left which was disappointing.
Was told they normally serve almond milk but ran out.
Oat or soya would be better option due to nut allergies!
Felt very safe in these Covid Times, food and service very good
Very good although the food took over an hour which we weren’t told on ordering
We went for breakfast with my parents who are in their 80's and my daughter in her 20's so a mixed age range. We ordered different things off the menu and we all agreed it was lovely. Well presented and hot. The service was excellent. Efficient and polite. One little thing we all agreed we would change - the cups are small and if you order a latte or cappucino, you get little coffee and mainly froth. Apart From that, we would all recommend.
The food was delicious but the service could have been better as we didn’t receive the water we asked for and my husband had to ask a few times for his beer. Other than that, we had a lovely evening and I would recommend to others
Lovely place, great service ! Pleasant, polite and attentive staff
Lovely lunch, food & service is always great, staff have adapted well to new rules and felt safe throughout.
Pub looked really festive & cosy with a lovely atmosphere-
Felt like a few hours of normality!
Staff were lovely and to be fair I didn't share this with them so they didn't have the opportunity to resolve it.
We were seated by a family - the two children of which screamed and cried through much of the meal. two of the three meals were ok, mine I'm afraid was over cooked and tasteless. The red pepper risotto was tasteless and over cooked so it was stogey. As a vegetarian I am often offered a risotto when dining out and I have to say this was the worst I've had.
I should have reported it at the time but as my meal was being paid for by friends I did not feel it was appropriate but as I left most of it I would presume the chef noticed.
The procedures that had been put in place for COVID were good and well enforced. Clear guidelines and managed well.
Great service, felt covid safe, would recommend, love the mini dessert taster platter
Always enjoy a meal at The Swan, welcome and service great. Would recommend for family, friends and celebrations.
Food was below average very over priced . Inc drinks over priced too service wasn’t upto much won’t be returning
Felt like we had lots of room. Prompt service and good food. It’s a great place to eat out.
Great place, will definitely return. We were well looked after!
Great food, nice staff
Safe and welcoming
Nice atmosphere
Took the family for roast dinner I’m Sunday afternoon. Superb food, and great wine.
Having been here so many times and loving the food , I can honestly say I won’t be going back in a rush. The worst roast dinner I think I’ve ever had!..it was barely warm, potatoes were like rocks, really chewy beef and a soggy Yorkshire. It had clearly been reheated from lunchtime service. My fingers were actually hurting from trying to cut the meat and potatoes! My sons chicken burger was just bland and boring. Certainly not worth £75 I paid!..plenty of staff but had to keep waiting till they noticed you. I would have complained had anybody bothered to come to the table when needed. Really dissapointed as I’ve been going here for over 15 years!
Great food great service
Very comfortable with covid measures in place
Lovely first Sunday lunch out after 2nd lockdown. Fastastic beef roast and pie meal. Attentive yet unimposing staff. So impressed we booked for Christmas Eve. Thank you
Lovely lunch. What’s not to love about a roast Sunday dinner and Erin mess for dessert. Well organised, clean and good service! Very enjoyable and good value.
