Dinner Sunday: 6.30pm - 9pm
All very good though my booking was not recorded
The food was tasty and the service relaxed and friendly.
We've eaten at The Swan a number of times and the food and service have always been good to very good. This time was not so good, food ok but service haphazard and error prone.
The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The Swan was particularly busy the evening that we were there because the other local pub had closed for a function. However, the staff worked very hard so this had little impact on our experience for the evening. The meal was lovely, different from a standard pub menu and beautifully prepared and presented. We loved the 'Secret Garden'!!
The food was incredible. Presented beautifully. It looked a bit small when it first came, but was actually the perfect amount. So tasty. And the service was amazing! A little expensive, but ultimately worth it!
Great food, great service. Friendly and accommodating.
Ingredients for food and flavours were good but cooking was not so good. Food was barely warm, skin on fish was soggy.
We thought it was very lovely and the staff were relaxed and friendly. We were only slightly disappointed that they hadn't even looked out our 'special occasion' note when we made the booking. That was the missing bit. The ambiance perhaps wasn't right for that in any case. Otherwise very lovely, delicious food in a beautiful village.
Wonderful from start to finish. Great service, food was splendid. The other 30ish Gastropubs in the UK must be very good indeed.
Excellent venue for food and entertaining "relatives" (not mentioned in your list) and friends.
The best fish and chips in a long time!! Perfectly cooked and presented. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere with some wonderful well-selected wines ;-))
Service was a bit erratic, didn't take order for a starter we had requested and took several attempts to get water. Others in the party enjoyed roast beef, my calves liver was good but did not like the kale soaked in butter or the root vegetable rosti which was salty and again very fatty.
We have been here several times but I have to say I was a bit disappointed this time. My Grilled Haddock was not terribly hot the fries were overdone and our extra portion of beans did not arrive till I had nearly finished my fish. The Plates were cold too for the main course. Desert was lovely but couldn’t have coffee only Full fat milk why would you not have semi or skimmed very strange.
A lovely pub, very friendly staff and excellent food. What more could you ask for from an idyllic country pub.
30th birthday with a party of ten. Such a good atmosphere considering we had kids! The food was outstanding especially the crispy beef ballotine! Pork jerk/calamari/fish&chips were so fresh and juicy! Some of the best flavourful food I’ve had. Could work on keeping one waitress and ensuring kutlery is given when the food is served... other than that an absolutely outstanding meal.
Very warm welcome, beautiful interior in excellent condition and very clean, good service, short wait for meals, super food and excellent Upham beers - highly recommended
A family lunch to celebrate a significant birthday close for us all. Attentive staff good food. We particularly as gin drinkers enjoyed the Corner 53 selection.
Super local pub that ups the ante for good food and great atmosphere
Very good food, well worth the 45 minute drive from Windsor
Delicious Sunday lunch on Easter Sunday. A lovely cosy pub in a pretty village with great service. Despite it being a busy Easter Sunday, the staff were attentive and friendly and a great menu and good quality food was carefully created, presented and served. We also arrived much earlier than we had our table booked for, having finished a long walk in the area so squeezing us in an hour early was no hassle for them. Throughly recommend.
Very comfortable restaurant with good service and impressive food. Very nice atmosphere and staff.
Went for Easter Sunday lunch with family. Although they had a full house, the service was brilliant and the food came in good timing. Seasonal and delicious food with lovely presentation. It was truly delightful.
Delicious Sunday lunch , staff busy but very attentive and helpful.
I love coming here. The service is always amazing, as is the food. There is always a lovely atmosphere in the Swan, I’ve been coming here for years and have yet to experience a bad service or meal. A rarity these days.
Very nice bar, with open fire, and pleasant dining area. Food very good, only quibble was slightly overcooked fish. Lovely staff.
Enjoyable Sunday lunch with friends and family, staff polite and friendly would recommend
Met up with family for Mother’s Day lunch. Food was amazing and reasonable sized portions. Staff were very attentive and willing to help with slight variations made to the menu. The ambience was set perfectly and matched the setting in this beautiful village.
Sunday lunch. Great but not quite on the money!
Finally a gastropub serving goat meat. We should this more on menu’s. Overall decent nicely presented tasty food with friendly service.
I have been here several times now either for lunch or evening meal. There is always a warm friendly atmosphere in this pub and I don’t think I have ever had a bad meal the food is really delicious! I have Coeliacs disease GF so it can be quite difficult and the staff are always very helpful and adaptable with this.would like to see a GF pudding on the Menu though not just sorbet And ice cream as a choice.
Good food, good service, friendly staff, car park needs repairing as full of pot holes and I am in a wheelchair. Will certainly return. The menu on line is very different to the menu on the web site.one of the party was looking fowards to the lamb dis found on line but on
The day there was no lamb dish on the menu. That aside we had a very enjoyable lunch and a good catch up with friends.
Booked table for Valentines meal after being told they 'cater for vegetarian and can cook anything we wanted as the chef is extremely good' only to be told on the night the £49 set menu is all they do and its that or nothing! Went out in the rain to try somewhere local but no where else available. Ended up with pizza at 22:20 which was rank! (Farm fresh pizza - avoid!!)
Manager (Hamnes) tried to be as apologetic but the evening was a washout - quite literally as it was pouring down outside and we got soaked! Wife does not do well when 'hangry' so the evening went down hill very quickly! :/
I really enjoy visiting the Swan Inn, they are always very friendly and welcoming. The food quality is very good if you want to book for an evening meal but it is also a nice venue for a casual lunch. They are dog friendly and during the summer have a large beer garden so nice to pop in for a quick drink after taking the dog for a walk.
As normal a Great overall experience and good value
Really lovely, quiet and cosy lunch. We will be back.
Delicious food and just the right amount. Home-made Ice Cream different every week. Our favourite place for Sunday lunch.
Always one of our top five restaurants with interesting food and great service. Only ten minutes from our home
Nice relaxed, informal dining experience. Effective, friendly, non-intrusive service and excellent food. What's not to like?
Fabulous Sunday lunch celebrating family birthday. Delicious food and relaxed atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome with children.
This is a wonderful place to eat, meet friends for a drink, or just pop in for coffee. Food is excellent, service cannot be bettered, and the charm and ambience is second to none. We would have given 11 stars if we could!
A lot better service than last time.
