Gotta say I'm a bit gutted. Took my family for Mother's Day. Sat on an old table that nobody could lean on next to the toilet. Our kids food came about 15mins before our startes, we then waited a good hour for our mains. By then our two little kids had well lost interest and were bored. My burger was very dry. Wife enjoyed her roast though. We are as quick as we could before the kids became too restless. When we did want more drinks I just went to the bar and ordered as nobody ever checked in us. I own my own business and often get tips so I always like to tip well. Gota day the 80p that I left even annoyed me. Have had a lovely meal before so maybe an off day.
Ok experience. The lobster and chips came out luke warm. Mixed grill was good value. Drinks and refill of drinks was slow. They were very busy.
I really enjoyed my evening, food , venue and staff were wonderful. What sullied my experience was; having had a really nice evening with good friends, arriving home I received an email, chastising me for not making my reservation, I was told that you took a 'hit' when people of my ilk did not bother to turn up. Appalled, I wrote back immediately, explaining that I had made my reservation. I got up early the next day at 6.00 am to receive another offensive email, stating that I could not respond to the first one but could I take the time to explain why I did not make my reservation. I responded to that too. Then I got another email asking for feedback which I am responding to now. I think you should review your data collecting system. I know plenty of people who would happily book 5 restaurants for one evening and just go to the one that suited them best. They would not care less about your cutting emails. I however have never not made a reservation without informing the restaurant in question, and find your emails offensive. Should I return to your restaurant I will make sure I get some assurance from a member of your staff, that I am indeed present and I will not receive any offensive email to the contrary.
Lovely place to eat and share an evening with friends
Sadly let down this time as our food was over cooked! I ordered my steak medium rare and it came medium to well and my partner ordered her tuna steak pink and it came well done and her veg came swimming in sauce! Not the best meal we had although the ambiance and service was good and we will
Weren't put off and will be back!! We were also told when the bill was presented that we would be given a complementary meal on our next visit so let's hope they can redeem themselves....
Lovely meal as always - staff very attentive. Can highly recommend the delicious menu
Only went for a quick lunch but waited over an hour for our sandwiches. Apparently there was a staff shortage. Two glasses of wine whilst waiting was over£18. They were very pleasant there and when I have been there before it has been much better
Very welcoming local. Food good and service with a smile.
Booked a table here on impulse for my birthday nice meal was proper gastronomy but experience I had not been sure what to expect it's fairly local so we will return great cheeseboard and happy and helpful staff
Lovely place and lovely food. Would def go back. It certainly had a great atmosphere too. Easy place to chat with friends.
Fantastic place. Super food and super service. Very friendly polite staff
Booked a table to celebrate my birthday and I wasn't disappointed. We had a fantastic night. The service from Adil was amazing as we're all the lovely staff. The food was delicious and the great atmosphere just topped it all off. If we lived close by I would make this our regular haunt. Loved it thanks to everyone.
Amazing food - really healthy sized potions and cooked to perfection
Really loved meal -the only critism would be that the salads were very small
Great pub with great food and super friendly attentive staff. Bonus is the kids outdoor play area to the side, very handy to help them build up their apetites.
Service was excellent , food was average, choice of desserts very poor as nothing different all very similar either stodgy or very simple.
House Italian wine good value
Menu selection was good. Food was nicely presented and very tasty.
Service was badly organised and it appeared one waitress was trying her best to run the whole place.
Luckily we got in before it was too busy but there was a lot of complaining from adjacent tables.
We had a very enjoyable evening. Nice atmosphere, friendly welcome and service, good food and beer (Bombardier), reasonable prices (if we'd gone on Monday, there was an offer of 50% off main courses!)
Lovely revamp of this pub, with nice atmosphere and good food. Big car park.
overall it was very enjoyable with a deifferent menu to our previous visit, we will go back again soon
Lovely pub....nice country feel....made to feel very welcome.....amazing food..if a little pricey.....great service.
Bank Holiday Lunch, nice country pub. Good menu and choicea, would have been good to have been told there was a Sunday roast available even though it was Bank Holiday Monday.
New waitress, very helpful, and eager to answer our menu questions
Tasty family dining .
Was put on table six, right under a speaker that was to much too loud, when the sun shone through the patio doors there was no curtain to draw to keep the sun off which made it very uncomfortable. That said food was excellent and has been on every occasion we have been there in the past.
Nice place, friendly staff maybe a little more choice on the menu but would return.
Discovered this pub by chance when looking for somewhere to eat on Boxing Day that was open. It was a good find - a quiet and cosy experience with a good range of dishes on offer, including some lighter, healthier options. One ordered item was forgotten but quickly rectified when pointed out to staff. Overall, a good experience.
Fantastic country pub. Everything about it is great- the food, the ambiance, the staff. Cannot recommend highly enough
New owners and new food worth a try. Local to me and a great addition to the local pub food scene
Lovely pub, great sunday roast, and good selection of wine. Will definitely come again and recomend to friends and family
We had set menu but starter & dessert portions were very small. Mains ok tho beef was luke warm.
Service was poor- & wine by the glass was expensive.
Shame - nice cosy pub!
A really nice pub with excellent food and friendly staff. Even though our table wasn't quite ready the staff kept acknowledging us. Once we sat down we were able to move to a more comfortable table at our request. The portions were a good size and really tasty. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely local pub serving fresh cooked food. One small suggestion would be to have some more fish and vegetarian options but overall a lovely restaurant and venue
Waitress was fantastic! Food not good, sent both our ribs of beef back as fridge cold in the middle. Two tables around us were sending their food back too. Had to cancel a 15 person booking in December due to this.
We had to wait a long time for our drinks, they were sitting on the bar for ages
I ordered the burger with Lobster. I requested that the lobster be taken out of shell.
When the waiter brought it to the table, even he was embarrassed as there were 4 very small paces of lobster.
Although it tasted ok I did state that I hope,I was not being charged for the lobster.
The waiter handled the situation very well. And he was very pleasant.
They removed the charges for all,the drink
It's a great Christmas winter type pub as all the lights and fire gives a lovely ambience
Love it every time I come here. Fantastic food, service and ambience. Have persuaded a group of my friends to have our annual Xmas night out here instead of The Grove this December! Am sure it won't disappoint!
Cozy warm atmosphere.food was outstanding and also purchased waiter Charlie made the evening extra special!
Lovely venue, quite expensive. Bit disappointed with food from this chain of pins recently. Used to be fab. Not so much now
Very pleasant surroundings, good food, choice of ales and fantastic waitering staff.
It was a relatively quiet evening when we went for dinner, and yet so many options were unavailable on the menu. Only 3 of our 4 starters were served and we were all finished by the time the last person was given theirs.
Just before we received our mains we were told that 2 of the orders couldn't be done so we had to re-choose.
Burgers were dried out, onion rings burnt and in-edible, and the tiny portion of chicken was so dry it had to be re-done.
It's such a shame cos it's a lovely pub and the food used to be good. Won't be going back again.
Three Compasses- A pub with a lovely modern decor, cosy ambience. & great food & customer service.
Waiters Very welcoming. Arrived 12.45
But took over 1 and 3 quarter hours to have main course and pudding - pudding eaten quickly.
Main course very poor. Toad in hole flabby stodgy batter, stale smelling fat. Ravioli over cooked, too much red onion
