The Three Oaks
This was seriously good, amazing food and brilliant service, wonderful restaurant
Special for the evening was Duck Brest. It had obviously been Sous Vide, but not for long, or maybe hot enough. The duck as served was tough and luke warm.
Very unusual for this restaurant. Shame, no-one in the kitchen tasted it.
Always an interesting and varied menu with good service, the food speaks for itself.
Never disappoints and lunch menu is good value
We found the Three Oaks to be OK, but for a fairly traditional Sunday lunch, at £82 for just two of us, including a very moderate bottle of wine, we felt that it was rather expensive.
The food was Ok but because of the cost we won't be rushing back.
Outstanding again. Almost as superb as the first time I’ve eaten here. My favourite local gastropub by far
We had the most delightful dinner after a communication mix up with friends who were supposed to meet us, but didn't show. Sophie was sooooo gracious, accommodating and had great recommendations! It was a special evening and we will recommend it to everyone who might be in the area!
Amazing food, really friendly staff.
Food and service are very good. The atmosphere could be improved as the lights are too bright and noise levels high. Could possibly look at what they could do making it a little more intimate.
Amazing food service and company
Food is always excellent. The staff are continually friendly and helpful and well informed of the food on the menu. The set menu is excellent value for money. I’ve lunched here various times and have yet to leave disappointed. Already looking forward to the next time 😄
This is a regular for us, the food is consistently good, service is excellent and the staff very friendly
Had the set menu and it was ex
The food and wine were delicious, service perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch
Lovely place.Been before several times and always enjoyed it.
This time the food and service was good but a bit too noisy.
Excellent choice, presentation and quality of food. Never lets you down. Excellent service from really delightful staff. First class!
Steak Night is always great - would recommend Chateaubriand and bringing your own wine is always worth it!
The service here is simply as good as it gets. Personable, welcoming, fun and thoughtful. Coupled with great food I think this place is on to a winner. As people who are regulars at Michelin starred restaurants we think this place is fantastic value for money and the wines on offer are amazing.
I wanted to come here for a Sunday lunch or a dinner for quite some time, but each time I looked on OpenTable it was already fully booked. This time around there were still lunch tables available on the late summer Bank Holiday, so I went there with my wife and her sister.
We've been all very happy with our food, considering that my wife is vegetarian, and with our wine, definitely meeting the relatively high expectations that I had. Service was perfect too.
Probably the only imperfect detail is the indoors ambience, pretty ordinary, nothing really wrong with it but just plainly normal. There are also nice tables outdoors, but also the outdoor area is fairly plain.
Definitely a place where I'd like to go back for dinner.
Great food, excellent service and super ambience
The weather was excellent and the 4 of us were able to sit in the lovely garden at The Three Oaks in Gerrards Cross. As always the food was excellent and the service perfect.
Excellent meal and good service. We have been to the restaurant on many previous occasions as we live nearby and it has always been very good. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone. On this particular visit we were accompanied by relatives from Scotland and they were very impressed.
Enjoyed everything from quality of food to service.
Well done - will be coming again!
Such a great place to eat locally and we enjoyed lunch outside in the sunshine. Heaven!
2 comments though:-
1. Great GIN menu, but no prices.
2. My main course was only luke warm, disappointing.
Will be back of course, but all dishes needs to be hot next time.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff . Great set menu . Good value
Main issue on this occasion was the noise level. Staff noticed that a particular table was causing this problem, apologised and told us the shrieking women would be leaving in about 30 mins which they did. However, later on another group arrived and sat at the same table and they were also rather loud. Trouble is that lots of places do not have any soft furnishings to deaden noise.
Having said all that you couldn't fault the staff. Our server was a friendly Aussie woman who gave excellent service - thank you!
Food was up to its usual great standard and the manager(?) recommended a table for us when we booked for our next visit, assuring us it was in a generally quieter area. They are also great about extending the time we are allowed at our table and never hassle us.
We meet friends there every couple of months or so and we each have over an hour's drive from opposite directions to get there. The fact that we keep returning shows how much we like the Three Oaks. Well-trained, friendly staff and delicious food make every visit enjoyable. Thank you everyone!
Fantastic food and service 👍
Outstanding food and attention, I read the reviews and they pretty much were what I expected, I will return again.
Exceptional food and lovely staff
Have no idea why I go into London when have this on doorstep!
Delightful, the small portions are just right. It enables you to indulge in three courses without feeling stuffed !
Amazing service , best service I have had in a long time and the food was excellent, great evening
High standard of cooking .... as always, especially when it comes to fish
Where we were seated was poorly ventilated. The windows couldn't be opened which meant it felt quite stuffy. After a while, we asked for the air conditioning unit to be switched on and it was!
That small thing aside, the staff couldn't have been more helpful over a cow's milk intolerance issue one of our guests had. A menu had been specially prepared for us with notes on which items were suitable. There were still plenty of choices left.
Very enjoyable evening and excellent service from a young waiter who put up with a group of demanding ladies. Very nice good and attentive helpful staff.
Great evening. Thank you. Fabulous food and we were looked after very well.
Wonderful food, we could not fault our meal. Been trying to secure a table at The Three Oaks for months and so glad we finally got in.
The food was creative and tasty, the staff were helpful and friendly.
It’s just a really nice place to have dinner. The pub seems relaxed for a drink too.
Fantastic evening, amazing service and outstanding value.
Unfortunately the roasts were both disappointing. The potatoes were undercooked, despite a beautiful outer colour, and the gravy/ 'roastings jus' was so watery you had to shake your fork so it didn't drip as you brought food to your mouth. We asked for thicker gravy, but were given more of the same.
The steak and chicken dishes were good.
Starters and puddings also good.
But overall, felt like an expensive meal for the quality. Was a real shame, had been booked weeks in advance as a surprise to celebrate a friend's birthday.
