The Three Oaks Ratings and Reviews
The fixed price lunch menu is outstanding value for money. The portions are not large so three courses are needed for those not dieting and perhaps one bread basket for two or three. The marriage of different flavours and textures and the attention to detail of the little additions for each of three courses is a delight.
All I can say is wow, what an amazing place, the food was out off this world, the staff were so friendly and the pub itself was so beautiful such a lovely place to go and eat.
I will be definitely going back very soon.
Pop along yourself and try it you won’t be disappointed.
I had been recommended this pub/restaurant by a number of friends and finally got round to trying it with my family. We had a pre dinner drink in the cozy bar. The menu was a little limited but everything we had was absolutely delicious. The sweet potato soup for starters was sublime!!! The main courses were beautifully presented, extremely tasty and freshly cooked. Our waitress was lovely, just the right mix of being attentive without rushing us. You couldn’t fault a thing. I hear that their Sunday roasts are amazing so will be trying that next. Make sure you book a table otherwise you will be disappointed.
The Three Oaks is well known in the area for good food, ambience and easy parking. We enjoyed our dinner as always, lunchtime menu is generally excellent with a good choice of either a la crate or a set menu, we did notice however the last time we were there for lunch there was quite a hefty rise in the price.
We have visited here several times in the past 4 years and like the general feel of the restaurant. We generally enjoy the food but have noticed a gradual increase in fuss in the dish presentation and style of food. Sometimes not always easy to find something for people looking for something 'simple'. We do appreciate the effort put into the dishes but would be happier with a less elaborate approach .
What a simply fantastic experience! The menu was interesting, the food absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, the staff were personable, friendly, familiar, polite, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the venue itself was high quality, but also so welcoming and comfortable.
The food at the Three oaks is exceptional, I've eaten there a few times and never been disappointed! We went last on Sunday for their roast, best roast by a mile locally!! Was very happy! the Beef was beautifully rare and the roast potatoes were incredible!! Will keep coming back!! Lovely staff! My favourite pub in the area.
Brilliant Sunday lunch! I find this is the lunch that can let so many restaurants down but it was superb. The beef was succulent and tender, served pink. The duck special was delicious and the beetroot barley served with it inspired. The only thing that would have made it better was more vegetable accompaniments (though we could have ordered these as an extra). Knowledgeable, charming and attentive service.
Second time to this brilliantly managed eatery. I realize food is very much about personal taste as is much in life. For me, the place is just perfect. Good ale, decent wine list, unbelievably creative cuisine (menus change very regularly), great flavours backed up by wonderful and knowledgable staff. Honestly could not fault Saturdays visit. Well done and thank you, to you all.
