Loved the food and the very friendly service but the atmosphere sadly lacking.
Lovely meal delicious friendly staff first meal out since March....
Everything was great apart from the initial welcome from the barman, who didn't even smile (hence only 4 stars); everyone else was pleasant and professional, the food was excellent (especially for non-meat eaters) and the wine was decent. Also, the music was at a sensibly low level and from my era! Overall, excellent value and we'll be back.
My wife, son and I had lunch there on Saturday and it was an absolute delight. Our first time there, we were welcomed by a smiling waitress, and the service right the way through was exemplary. I had the Basil Gnocchi, my wife the Harissa Chicken and my son had macaroni cheese. Everything was to die for - so fresh and tasty even our teenage son agreed the food was delicious.
We never felt we were left waiting too long and the waitress made some inspired wine and dessert recommendations. We've already told everyone we know to try it out - highly recommended.
Great lunch with family. Food and service was good.
Thank you for a lovely and amazing evening. Service was attentive and unobtrusive. The food never disappoints and it did not disappoint at all. It was the best meal I have had since lock down, with my tastebuds (dulled by radiotherapy) awakening to the beautiful flavours. You cannot imagine how delighted and thrilled I am (and my family and friend) and the part the Three Oaks has played in my recovery.
Thank you very much.
A lovely tasty menu to choose from. Beautifully presented and all tasted delicious 😋
Wes, Ellie and the team at The Three Oaks are always very welcoming and make you feel special on any day of the week. The food is consistently good and is always changing.
Food was wonderful, as usual, and the service was wonderful, as usual! A lovely treat, especially with their own version of the Eat Out To Help Out scheme.
Lovely food very well cooked and presented.Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who were a.pleasure.Definately be.back.again.
The food and service is just excellent!
The Three Oaks is my favourite place!
Bring back the pork belly, everyone wants it. Bring it back
The staff members are always efficient and very friendly, to go with good food.
Great service and food!!!! I will definitely be coming back!
Food and service was fantastic and they take all the safety precautions very seriously. I’d like to see the return of a set price lunch menu to mix it up a bit.
Superb Roast dinner 🍽 with Scrumptious roasties 😋
Staff Polite & friendly
Drinks order was on the slow side
We had a lovely lunch at the pub on the weekend. The ambience was nice, the tables were well distanced to maintain social distancing and the service was excellent. We are both vegetarian so menu choices were limited, however we enjoyed our meals. I would say I preferred my husband's choices (gnocchi and mango dessert) over mine but I still enjoyed our lunch. We would definitely go back again.
The evening was most enjoyable. Having been to the 3 Oaks many times before I’m glad to say the standard was still very good especially in account of the current situation.
We will be back soon.
Food was superb. Atmosphere slightly lacking due to lack of customers (due to reduced numbers of tables) but staff was really friendly and helpful.
The staff managed very well with distancing and disposable menus. The food too was extremely good and well presented
A lovely evening
The new pan fried cod dish on the menu was amazing. The food & staff as always were outstanding.
The food was excellent and I always find something to get excited about on the menu. I had the goats cheese then hake and my husband had the ham hock and then the lamb. Everything was delicious as usual.
There were just two tables in our part of the restaurant so it wasn’t as atmospheric as it can be but that’s sometimes better than being squeezed in!
We don’t often eat out locally as we often dine in hotels and restaurants further afield and I enjoy cooking. This restaurant is a real treat and close to home.
excellent food and cocktails! Staff excellent very professional and had good recommendations
Very pleasant. Lovely food and great service. Stylish.
Very slow kitchen service, though the waitress was very sweet. Prices seem to have jumped big time. Very hit or miss.
Fab chateaubriand. Cooked to perfection. Staff all friendly and knowledgeable. Consistently good.
Super delicious birthday dinner. I think they might need to think about opening windows for ventilation in the cooler months re Covid. Otherwise, food, wine and service was lovely.
Well organised and properly spaced in dining room; attentive, friendly staff and delicious, accurately-cooked and beautifully presented food.
An absolute must .... wonderful, helpful and friendly staff and fantastic food
Best 'not at home' Sunday lunch ever. A roast dinner could be an easy option for a chef but the team at the Three Oaks have nailed it. Each component part on the plate was so flavoursome and topped off with a wonderful gravy. Superb :)
Delicious meal as always and fantastic service! Hopefully they’ll bring back the lunch set menu soon...
We have been going to The Three Oaks for the last 6 years and it never fails to provide excellent food. It was great to hear that the restaurant was opening again and decided to go and celebrate my birthday again last week. The food was amazing and the chef has put together some really interesting flavours. The only problem we had was our wine order, we ordered rose but was brought white, soon remedied though. Can highly recommend The Three Oaks for a delicious meal.
Charming and helpful waitress, and very good and imaginative food. We would have preferred being outside, but the only two tables available had no umbrella cover....which does need attention.
Lovely staff, great cooking but expensive for what it is.
Another great meal from the team at the Three Oakes. Becca our waitress was especially good with great service
A decent Modern British menu with starters and deserts on the day being the highlight on this sitting.
Lots of detail go into each plate and it does not get 5 stars as the wife’s crab linguine was Only just Luke warm Which was disappointing for her.Should have mentioned it but we overheard from the service staff that they were down to last last couple as we sat down so did not want it just re heated. My Gnocchi was good and the plates of food that I saw going out looked of pretty. Will be back to sample more of this cuisine.
Glad to see Three Oaks is back to its high standards after virus closure. Having been unable to visit, we returned last Sunday for Lunch which was superb and very good value. I had a roast lamb and beef combo which they did specially as I couldn't decide between the two. Imaginative veggies, and desserts to die for !!
Excellent as usual. Even though less tables and one way system installed it didn’t ruin the dining experience. Our waitress was very nice and gave us an excellent service.
Staff were exceptional, food utterly delicious and great value for money - loved it.
