We were so excited to go to the Twisted Oak for our 5 year wedding anniversary. It started off good; they seated us very quickly and the appetizers came fast and were delicious (truffled chickpeas and two kinds of salads). However, it then took 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive. During those 40 mins, the waiter did not check in once to let us know about the delay. Once the food arrived (cacio e pepe pasta for my husband, bbq ribs for me) it was cold, especially the ribs, and not very flavorful. The waiter only apologized for the wait when handing us the dishes. When it came time for dessert, we were ready to leave so we didn’t order any. Though, we had left a note in the reservation a long time ago regarding our anniversary, but nothing came on the house, just the check. Any other restaurant would send a dessert to celebrate the occasion, but it didn’t happen. Also, the main dining room has really poor acoustics. We could barely hear each other. We wanted to love our experience, but we unfortunately didn’t.

We thoroughly enjoyed dining at cozy charming Twisted Oak. The entire staff from Cory,
our waiter, the hostess, and the bussing staff went out of their way to make our dining experience
delightful. Cory gave us a full description of our choices with great recommendations
My friend really enjoyed the duck risotto and I found the local farm raised chicken to
be very good. My only caveat is that at $29.00 for a chicken entre to be too expensive.
We found the lemon merangue dessert delicious. Overall a lovely experience.

We, a group of 6, went there on a Tuesday night. Half of the items on the menu was not available. The waiter seemed disinterested in serving and did not inform us about the items that were not available. We waited about 50 minutes for our entrees.

The restaurant offers a rather small menu choice and many items (3 to be exact) were 'sold out'. As luck would have it I had decided to share three items with my mate and of course those were the three that were missing. It was a quiet evening so I doubt the items were ever available in the first place.

The food was ok but not great. The service was fine. It didn't look as nice as advertised and there was no buzz. Had I known the town any better I would have left and gone somewhere else.

Very disappointed.

Menu was uninspiring with 2 chicken options, one salmon option, one pork option and a duck option that had run out. The food was ok but certainly not good enough to warrant the prices that were being charged

Perfect dinner! Food was delicious and served in an appealing way (we had grilled salmon, fried chicken, lemon meringue pie and pannacota). Our waiter (Cory) was very knowledgeable and friendly, talked us into tasting the local cider (very good decision!). We have spent very good time at the Twisted Oak!

The fried chicken was a mass of gristle and fat. Very hard to find any edible meat. I did not say anything because I was with a guest. I will not return.

Menu was a little limited in scope and didn't completely work for our party. The beer I selected from the menu was out of stock. One of our dishes was fantastic, the other was just ok. Overall the restaurant gets VERY loud so it was hard to carry a conversation at a table for two.

The restaurant lived up to the stellar reviews I saw online. The truffled chickpeas are, indeed, out of this world. The green salad excellent. My husband said it was the best salmon he can remember having. My duck was very good, though I'd have liked a more flavorful/fruit oriented sauce and the croquettes that came with it were uninteresting. The ambience is very nice and we could have a conversation in normal tones for a change. Service is excellent.

Decent place - well presented, tasty food. Service was good. But when I asked if I could add some grilled chicken to a lunch salad, they said they would have to charge me the price of a full chicken dinner ($27). Really? As it was, the salad ($14) was the size of a side salad and while tasty, just did not do the job. So we ordered an extra appetizer and I still left hungry. I wish I could give it an across the board positive rating, but until they start providing more value, good/good+ is about all they get.

1) They got my reservation mixed up a handful of times.
2) when discussing with the person in the phone that it was my girlfriends birthday, they were not very helpful when it came to any assistance or providing info on what they could do.
3) upon arriving, we waited quite a while before a waitress assisted us. Instead of taking our drink order, she mentioned taking the cake from us and then told us it would cost $10 ($2.50/person) to cut the cake.
4) when we were clearly upset about that, instead of taking our order, the waitress got one of the owners to tell us the same thing (cost of cutting the cake), not sure why the got an owner considering it made no difference and nothing changed.
5) We were extremely close to walking out on the spot but decided to stay only because we drove 25 minutes to go here. The wait for a waitress and food and drink was still quite long.
6) items on the menu weren’t available (chick peas) initially. My girlfriend ordered them and about 10 minutes later the waitress came back and said they did not have any.
7) courtesy of the chef they provided free bread and cheese which was nice but was likely due to it being obvious we were not happy (said it was for her birthday). Then eventually—chick peas became available; they did comp us them though.
8) Food was good but not worth the price

Overall, this was not a great experience. I do not plan on coming back here and regret making reservations here.

The halibut ordered was EXTREMELY SALTY. The restaurant was out of the most obvious entre - the chicken!!! The salad was measly. We were not forewarned or informed either about the salt level of Halibut or that the salad was not even worth sharing.

We went for our Anniversary, the was awesome but we must have gotten to the restaurant late and never had a waiter and it took awhile to order drinks. Also, the volume of the music seemed high it being a higher end restaurant and not a bat. We would definitely go hear again, but did feel like it could have been a better overall experience.

Was amazing last time we were there. This time fair, duck lasagna was way too hot in the cast iron, had to wait quite a while to eat it and by the time I could the egg on top totally overcooked from heat coming off it. My husband done with his dinner before I had my first fork full. Everything a little too over seasoned but good, just not as good as first time.

It was our anniversary (let them know when making the reservation), they did not disappoint! They sat us at a wonderful table near the person playing music and once seated they brought us a glass of champagne!!! So thoughtful of them! The service was great! Food was out right on time and the dessert was delicious (def recommend the brûlée!) overall, another perfect dining experience there and we will be back.

I think the food is very good, fresh and inventive. The service was not very good, I had to flag someone down just to get water and they said, yeah I'll be right back...Several minutes later they came back. Our reservation was at 8:15 and the table was not ready but that is OK but my point is the restaurant was starting to slow down so no excuse for the service. I also think my dinner was overpriced. Delicious pappardelle, but $34 was $7-$10 too much. It said a dinner portion was more than the starter portion, that I understand but I should have taken a picture; it was not a lot of food for that amount of money. I cannot imagine how little they give you for $24 as a starter! Overall, this was a nice place with really good food but I would be hard pressed to go back. I would recommend it to friends with the caveats I provided b/c everything we ate was delicious but for $200 per couple, there are 6 other places I am going before I go back here.
