The Waverly Inn
Need to book at 18:15?Other great restaurants with availability.
The Waverly Inn is always wonderful. The room is absolutely beautiful and the food is delicious. The only downside is that it can feel a bit cramped when it's full (and it usually is.) It's one of the few places in the West Village that still serves until midnight, which is nice.
Short pours on the wine
Servers were not warm or welcoming g
Honestly it was pretentious and terrible. The hostess first sat us in a really bad table and when I was asked if we could be moved to a better table which most were empty the whole night she said they were reserved for management ?? The food was ok but the service for what we paid felt demeaning and not worth the money... honestly never going back
Food was excellent and I love decore and atmosphere
Absolutely beautiful and delicious dining experience
Overall very good experience. Marinated beets and burrata with figs amazing.
Great ambience. Bartender should have a bigger knowledge about wines he is serving.
Close, old friends in from out of town, reunion. Asked for a special/best table, but was seated where patrons and waiters bumped into 2 of our chairs all night. Disappointed my request was not honored thru Open Table.
Great ambience, good food. Small portions though.
My experience was just “okay” overall. Servers around us seemed super happy and nice, as were the bussers/water fillers but our server wasn’t very nice. The crab cakes were wonderful, as were our side of fries but the main course we ordered- the pot pies- were bland and nothing special. Beautiful ambiance and cozy atmosphere but food wasn’t worth the value. Would be willing to try again.
Service was exceedingly slow and non-responsive but otherwise no complaints
amazing ambiance. cozy west village spot with a fireplace. perfect place for an intimate dinner
Love Waverly Inn! Been going there since the 90s. I haven’t loved it quite as much after it took on new ownership. The vibe was tweaked a bit but it’s still one of my favorites for a cozy dinner on a cold night.
This place is a NYC institution. The Best. Stylish. Old Fashion, but vogue
...And delicious. Joey’s nails are always a hit.
Amazing place. The best Truffle Mac&Cheese! $$$$
But I'd tell him to bring his wallet. It's pricey for what it is
Entire resturant extremely noisy. Serves seemed eager to move you to get next person into your table. While expected food prices to be high their prices were higher than expected.
A sincere NYC classic dining experience.
Loved the ambiance.
Been several times. Often entertain out of town guests. The ambiance, service and food are always spot on.
Love the food and the ambiance is like no other !
The location, ambience and food were terrific, but I just can’t give this restaurant five stars. The way we were looked down upon from the very beginning by the maitre d’ and the overall table service simply brought the experience down a notch.
Pompous approach when we first entered the restaurant (think “Date Night”, the movie) didn’t help, but then after I tried to order wine, our waiter got the Som and the only thing I can think of is that he thought I was an idiot. I ordered a bottle of white Crozes Hermitage by Paul Jaboulet. The waiter asked me if it was okay that the bottle was cold (assuming he was checking to make sure that I knew it was white vs red). I responded yes, but he gave me the impression that he thought I was completely clueless. I then asked if I had mispronounced the wine (knowing that my entire family has taken French and all confirmed it was the correct pronunciation). He told me that I was correct in a very condescending way. I have certainly had Soms confirm a bottle in much more diplomatic ways.
Anyway, every time we wanted to get more wine, we had to ask our waiter or the Som. It’s fine to keep the wine elsewhere, but waiting halfway through your first and second course for more wine was extremely irritating. The bus boy kept on trying to take our plates away while food was clearly still on them. We are rarely treated like this in our hometown of Chicago...maybe it’s because we aren’t from the area?
So much to like about this restaurant, just don’t expect to be treated well if you’re not a regular.
I really love this place!
I always want to go when I’m in town!
Always lively thank you.
Charming small bar and great bloody mary. The garden area is best for brunch but be aware if you're a twosome you could be squeezed against a wall in a corner and unfortunately we were next to a very loud table of 10 so conversation was impossible and we had a woman's coat with price tag resting on our tiny table for our meal. Our server was great and the food very good but because of the noise and squished table we couldn't give it an excellent rating.
Superb! Excellent cuisine, victory foods is tops! And the service was first rate. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Extremely rude host and waiters.
Perfect cozy dining room for a rainy Sunday afternoon. The squash and chorizo hash was out of this world!
Food was very nice and quite reasonable. Service was good as well. Good brunch menu. Tables were a bit close together so when one had to leave the table it required others at our table and the one next to us to move.
Can’t wait to return! Used to go there regularly 40 years ago and very impressed with the renovations!
Nice restaurant with bad service
I took my daughter and we were seated promptly. Food and service very good - interesting choices. Noise levels increased from 6:45 on - hard to hear an hour later.
We were seated in a cozy booth that helped keep the noise down and we could have a conversation.
The food and service were great. I just think that a top restaurant like this should maintain the restrooms better - someone should check/clean frequently and replenish the supplies.
Nice Place ........................................ :-)
We 3 arrived for a 1 o'clock brunch and sat in the middle room. It has the ambiance of Old World, people look very attractive, tables are small so you're close to each other in a good way... it feels intimate, but you're still a part of The Waverly Inn World. Nobody rushed us, the food was excellent... I highly recommend it.
L’endroit est magique typique NY du beau monde mais attention l’addition est très new-yorkaise
Charming setting with gross indifference from wait staff; food was decent bordering on unremarkable
Charm not worth it...
I loved this restaurant so much that I came back twice in one day! I had made a brunch reservation with a few friends and my sister who was visiting from out of town, and then we loved the back patio so much we came back later at night for late night drinks and snacks! Highly recommend.
Birthday dinner was wonderful
