The Weighbridge Brewhouse
PLEASE BE AWARE ANY WEEKDAY BOOKINGS, LUNCHTIME OR EVENING THROUGHOUT DECEMBER CANNOT BE MADE ONLINE.
Very disappointed, it was my Mums Birthday and we treated her to a nice meal as we thought, but she said she was disappointed with her meal and would not want to to go there again
It was fairly quiet, on the Sunday, NO loud live music just background music, AWESOME. the only downside was the yorkshire puddings were slightly overcooked. Other than that very good....
We arrived for our wedding anniversary at 7.15, table was ready and the evening started off very well. Ordered the sea food platter starter which was amazing. We waited 45 mins for our main which then came out cold, I had duck and it was cold to touch everything on the plate was my husband had T-bone steak and lobster which was also not the warmest and as I had to wait for mine to be “fired up again” as the lady said a few time he said he would rather it go back also. The staff were quick to sort it out once we told them, but it took me 10 mins to get the attention of the waitress.
Both dinners came back my duck was lovely re heated and same food as before and still not hot but warm so I was happy with that,
But my husbands £32 pound steak and £12 lobster side had also been reheated .... so medium rare steak was now well done and lobster reheated shell fish reheated !
Along comes the waiter everything ok ? Ummm no my steak is over cooked now I could see him getting mad !
They take it back I keep mine I’m sat eating now he’s not I don’t want mine reheated again so keep it, 15 mins later a perfectly cooked steak comes out same lobster re heated again 🤢
This time no sides just meat and a onion ring 😩 by this time he’s gonna loose it, takes 10 mins for him to get waiters attention again the sides come out very quickly after that.
What a disaster!!!!!, once the food was warm and finally came it was nice such a shame it’s ruined our first time back in a long time.
They did however take the steak off and drinks (2diet cokes 2gins)
We won’t be back.
We came for a rare night out, we ordered starters and a main with a bottle of wine. The starters came, which we ate waited some time before our wine arrived. We drank the wine and we’re still waiting for the mains. We then questioned where are food was and they had forgotten about us. Food was average and wasn’t worth the wait, I won’t be going back
Amazing food and service. Sharing platters are amazing value and quality. Our steak was cooked to perfection. Will be coming back!
After a disappointing first visit we decided to give The Weighbridge a second chance, and I am so glad we did. The food, service and ambiance was outstanding! We will certainly be coming back again and again. Thank you
Ate breakfast here for the first time . Tasty food and good value with juice and coffee included in the price.
We had a really lovely lunch. The service was excellent and the food was lovely.
A beautiful setting; really warm. A lovely atmosphere with very pleasant staff who were attentive but also allowed you time to enjoy your evening. The food was really fresh and tasty. I will definitely be going back
Food delicious though not enough staff service very slow...
Food Luke warm and took a very long time to arrive. Plate of bread and oil arrived just before the meal.
Treacle tart was chewy, barely warm . Lacking in flavor and seemed stale.
It was clod also in the restaurant.
Lovely food and friendly service. We went Sunday afternoon and it still felt quite buzzy in there and decorated beautifully.
Having moved to the area recently, we had heard that The Weighbridge was the place locals go to celebrate an event such as a birthday etc. Whilst, to some extent I agree with this (In so much as it's a fantastic destination to celebrate any event, birthday, anniversary etc etc...) it's a terribly tag to give to a place as good as this. Do not wait for an occasion! In my view, the pricing etc was excellent value for the standard of food and service you receive. My wife ordered a steak which was perfectly cooked and very good value as it included two sides and a sauce. I went for the duck two ways dish. The duck was fantastic, full of flavour and cooked exceptionally well. Our two children ordered from the childrens menu (2 courses for £7) an both enjoyed their meals. The serving staff were attentive and very good with the kids. All in all we were impressed. The building is stunning and the live music was a nice touch. Great wines too!
We will definitely be back...and we won't wait for a special occasion. Id suggest that for the relative value in terms of quality and service, this is a very accessible restaurant.
Delicious afternoon tea, great service & selection of food. Would recommend and will be returning 😊
Nice ambiance and experience but somewhat over priced given that the quality did not match the prices. Service was helpful and pleasant but not overly efficient. Needs to do better to get back to its previous standards.
First time at the weighbridge. Treated my mum for her birthday. Was outstanding from the moment we walked in to the minute we left. Will be definitely coming back
The waitress was rude, we had a few questions about the food and she rolled her eyes. The food tasted like it had been cooked that morning and been hanging around since. It’s such a shame as we were looking forward to a nice meal.
I took a group of friends and family from London here and they all commented how good the food was they really liked the ambiance.
Lovely, modern and pretty setting - my partner and I enjoyed it very much and will be coming back again. The staff were lovely and helpful and engaging, making us feel very welcome and comfortable.
I assume under new management???
Saddle of lamb with Yorkshire pudding?
Very pleasant Sunday lunch. Good service and tasty food.
Having read reviews before visiting but after I'd booked I was tentative at first. During the entire dining experience I became very impressed. The service was impeccable and efficient. The food was of a high standard and well-plated. The live music was a little louder than I'd have chosen, but ideal for most I'd imagine. I'd previously visited the Weighbridge when one could order Crocodile and Wild Boar, but I'd been told by a friend that the management had changed and the quality had dropped. In that case I'd say they've turned the quality back around. Though they don't serve the bizarre and exotic meats; the food is definitely worth it. The grilled duck was perfect and blackberry dessert with honeycomb a specific nod of unique approval. The price is less than I remember paying before too. For a microbrewery, I'd say their Gin far exceeds the Beer choices. The wine menu was decent/adequate but not extensive. I'd definitely recommend a visit.
Best Restaurant in Swindon - Food, service and ambience were all excellent, the sharing boards are amazing especially the Seafood starter and the Chateaubriand, Cheese Trolley to finish is the best !! Brilliant music also, a young man singing and playing the guitar which complimented the setting perfectly, can’t wait to go again !!
Unfortunately the service was VERY slow, in there over 3 hours and it wasn’t even particularly busy. Had to go off to find a member of staff on 2 separate occasions to request dessert Menus etc after nobody came with back with them. The mains were over priced for what we were presented with. Watery sauce, the dauphinois didn’t show any evidence of cream, garlic etc. Just plain and very dry potatoes. The meat was cooked nicely but everything else was no where near the standard you’d expect from the weighbridge. Shame.
Excellent quality and reasonable price. The portion size was very good too. Definitely recommended.
Fantastic food, and the service was okay. We spent a lot of time waiting for food. The food was great, well cooked so there cannot be no complaints there.
The only real complaint that I have was the live music. It was SO loud, we were sat close the bar the bar, and I found myself at times unable to think let alone hear other people on the table due to the music. It was so loud you couldn’t even hear what they were singing.
I am all for live music, but it had no need to be that loud. It put a bit of downer on the evening to be honest.
Great environment and atmosphere. Staff were ver attentive.
We went for breakfast for was very nice except no mushrooms and fruit juice was meant to be part of price was given large glass and charged for it
Also they were hovering and mopping floors and dragging chairs to clean under while we were eating shouldn’t be only until all finished not a pleasant experience
Won’t go back a gain until they sort this out
Everything was lovely from the food to the live music
My wife and I enjoyed a lovely romantic meal at the Weighbridge, which is under new management. We arrived to hear a harpist, who played beautifully all evening - apparently musicians regularly play in the evenings. A lot of effort has been put into the décor. Service was really friendly and helpful, and our meals were nicely cooked and tasty. The choice of wines is well thought out too. We'll be going back soon.
We were celebrating two family birthdays on the day of our visit! An 18th and a 21st! We had not visited the Weighbridge for some time and had heard that it had changed hands and reviews had been mixed? I decided to take the plunge and make up our own minds. The ambience and decor were outstanding and very welcoming. We were greeted with warmth and made to feel at home immediately, as we were shown to one of the requested round tables in the restaurant, for our family of five. Both waitresses dealt with us beautifully, being very helpful, informative and polite. Everyone opted for steak dinners, to follow a shared seafood platter starter. We were not disappointed in our choices, as all the food was exceptional, washed down with two bottles of recommended wine. We finished off the meal with a brought chocolate cake, decorated for the occasion, and presented at our table by the both waitresses who sang "Happy Birthday|"! A perfect finish to a thoroughly enjoyable visit. Not for the last time....
Wonderful food in a lovely setting.
Our only disappointment was how long my husband had to wait for his cheese and biscuits. The cheese arrived about ten minutes after the other desserts had been served and there was a further wait of about five minutes for the biscuits. Otherwise, a fantastic experience.
We had a meal with the same couple we dined with on Saturday a few years ago and we vowed to go back. We wish we hadn't the service and experience is still spot on but the food was way below the standard we had before. Firstly dissapointed with the choices on the menu (nothing exciting) . The food served (duck and lamb )was quite tasteless. Disappointing at this price point, will not go there again...
Food quality very good, menu choice not great, service very poor
A nice atmosphere and the afternoon tea was lovely and was more than enough to eat and we was offered to take the left overs home .
Absolutely stunning food. The pumpkin soup will now be an obsession of mine - it was so deliciously creamy and full of flavour. Everything was perfect!
Booked a table online for my birthday, easy to book and nice table upon arrival.
They did give free nibbles for the table and a mini cake plate with ‘happy birthday’ on it which was a nice touch but the service although they were very lovely and courteous was quite slow. As we had been before we were looking forward to some specific dishes but soon realised they had changed ownership so the menu was completely different and quality of food didn’t quite match the prices. Still a lovely place but probably won’t go again for food
Another good meal. The food was very good and service was quick too.
6th year wedding anniversary, music was the wrong type of music for the setting from the live band, people getting up and dancing, clapping made it feel like we was at a pub with there behaviour, the drinks (mojito) didn't have the mint hit and could just taste the lime, the starter ( seafood platter) was amazing, my lamb was cooked perfectly, my wife's steak was tough, dauphinoise potatoes was undercooked, we didn't stay for dessert and coffee.
It was my birthday (tho was not booked as such)... everything was lovely staff were also lovely venue is perfect ... the only fault were the steaks we ordered ... they were so tough we were unable to eat them ... we chose flat iron steak as we hadn’t ever seen that cut before... we wont be trying ever again !! We will however definitely eat at the weighbridge again as everything else was spot on 👍👍👍🤗
