The Weighbridge Brewhouse

Had a fantastic meal here on Saturday, food and service were perfect, we were celebrating a birthday and they even put Happy Birthday on a dessert and brought this out to my brother which was a really great touch! There was live music also which just set the perfect atmosphere, I have been here several times now and can highly recommend.
I will not be visiting again whilst Upham are owners. I visited before Xmas and had a good meal so thought i would follow up on 15th Feb 20 and a total shambles. Entering the door there was a 2 piece combo who were supposed to provide ambience music. Somebody should have told them 120db is a tad loud.
We were seated upstairs with a number of other dinners (downstairs was nearly empty). I must admit sitting in the corner amid spare furniture of what is a massive empty pub was not good enough. I would have moved except for the empty seats were directly in line with the jet engine noise from the combo.
My food was ok, my partners was to put is mildly dreadful, not cooked correctly and served with a sort of "here it is" attitude. We didn't pay for her meal.
Nice building, rest is dreadful. Many more places to go AVOID AVOID AVOID until Upham sell on
Lovely food, service good however slightly slow. Good prices and overall would go again
We had booked a table for weeks and were seated upstairs where there were about 3 other full tables and just seemed as if we weren’t as important as all the other dinners downstairs
went for valentines day and the atmosphere was perfect! the food was amazing and very well cooked, and lots of thought has gone into it. There was no rush for us to leave the table and everyone was very friendly.
we went for my wife’s birthday. We really enjoyed it. Staff very welcoming and very helpful and knowledgeable. Food was lovely too. We were not rushed at all, just a nice relaxing meal out. Definitely go again soon.
Had to send food back as bread was hard, replaced with different bread but that wasn’t good either. Shame as been there before and meal was very good.
Early valentines dinner, food was really nice
The staff were lovely and went above and beyond for my boyfriend’s birthday. The steak deal was completely delicious! Thank you.
Having read Trip Advisor reviews before turning up we were a little concerned. There was absolutely no need for us to have any concerns. Service, ambiance, food was great. Only a minor criticism, we found the live music to be too loud that at times we couldn't hear the conversation between the 6 of us. Mentioned it to Olly our waiter and he arranged for them to turn it down a little. Would definitely go back!
Raw pan fried salmon. Did send it back and get a new one but the chef said it was supposed to be like that. Lost trust in the restaurant.
We always enjoy going to the Weighbridge for special occasions. The meals are always good, the atmosphere is wonderful and the staff are always so cheerful and friendly which makes for a relaxing atmosphere. We will be back again soon
Staff attentive but not overly in your face. Food was lovely, music was enjoyable. Looking forward to returning soon.
I often recommend it to friends. The Al la carte menu is very good and excellent value for money. The beer is also excellent.
We had an excellent lunch, the service was specially good and helpful, the only downer was the music!
The vegetarian steak was made to look like a meat steak which put my daughter off meal. The roast chicken dinner was greasy gravy and tasteless rest of meal. For both dishes vegetables were cold and hard. It was suppose to be a celebratory birthday meal for my daughter very disappointed . When our plates collected and it was obvious we had hardly eaten meals nothing was said by staff to ask why we hadn't eaten meals. I suffer with anxiety so don't like to cause issues so we paid and left disappointed and hungry. When I spoke to other friends after our visit they had similar experiences and we agreed not to return.
Live music was nice and light up trees are pretty. Food was tasty. just service was slow.
A beautiful venue with attentive service and friendly staff. The food was delicious and good portions. The brownie did not disappoint. We didn’t feel rushed either. Will definitely be going back
We've been several times before, but not for a leisurely lunch. Everything was lovely, my only criticism is that there could be more choice on the set lunch menu.
Whilst the roast dinner was lovely, the dessert was stone cold. And the service was appalling.
We had a great evening at the Weighbridge. The staff were clearly very busy but kept serving with a smile and couldn’t have been any more attentive. The food was exquisite - my fish goujons as a starter were mouthwatering and the rack of ribs to die for! The rest of my party were equally happy and we all went home impressed by such a lovely evening.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was of a good standard and served in good time - if a little pricey. Will definitely return.
We had an ok meal. I didn’t realise that if you go on a Sunday evening you’re only able to order from the Sunday lunch menu rather than than the normal menu. They had sold out of the lamb so we both ended up having a bog standard beef roast dinner. The price suited the meal but we’d gone out for our anniversary so we had hoped for something a little nicer than what we ended up having. It was nice food, just a little disappointing.
Beautiful gem of a restaurant in Swindon, not far from town centre.
Food was delicious, ambience was great... decor and live music.
I feel that experience was a little bit let down by service slower than we would expect, would have probably ordered more if not for the timing. That being said, it was a busy night with some birthday parties on a couple of tables.
I will definitely go again for the foodie experience, but probably pick a quieter day.
Hadn’t been for a while as our last visit was disappointing. This was the opposite. A very enjoyable visit.
It was a really nice place to take my girlfriend for her birthday.the staff was absolutely wonderful very helpful and pleasant a special mention to Clair and Natalie they were brilliant a real credit to your restaurant.
We visited the restaurant after an absence of 18 months. We were very pleased with our meal, the service and the ambience. We have now put the restaurant on our shortlist of places to dine.
Perfect lunch for us as a forum of friends! Also baby friendly! Great food great atmosphere great staff!
Last time I went there it was owned by previous owners, but sad to say didn't rate the food much very salty and I see the Booth seating had been replaced by tables at main front window, I liked the Booth seating made it cosy, and it was cold in there, we ate from lunch menu so perhaps this was aimed at cheaper dinning so I can't comment on main dinner menu but bit put off so doubt will return.
The weighbridge is still hit and miss, which is very disappointing.
The table was filthy and so was the floor. Jug of water had black fluff floating in it and Coke was so watery.
Nobody was in restaurant and plenty of staff to clean, so no excuses.
Feel again we have paid out a lot of money for little return.
We had Sunday dinner I would highly recommend it to anyone, it wa our yearly Christmas meal out and we always choose the weighbridge fantastic
The food was excellent but the service left a lot to be desired. For 1.5 hours not one person came to our table to ask if we were ok, if the food was ok, if we wanted another drink, to top up drinks etc. Just basic stuff. We wouldn’t come again.
We travelled from Portsmouth to meet friends at The Weighbridge and were pleasantly pleased with the complete experience. Lovely place, super food and a great afternoon all round. would definitely recommend and visit again.
Would recommend for food and ambience but not for service, went in a group of 4 several days before christmas, the restaurant was nearly half full and there were 3 serving the food and drink, 2 of which were too young and inexperienced, slow and gormless. the lady in charge was very good but needed help, we waited far to long in every aspect of being served throughout the whole meal.
lovely food although after seeing 3 courses on the website for £15 and arriving at the restaurant to find this wasn't the case due to christmas was disappointing , surely the lunch menu and prices should be amended on the web site. also after sitting at the table for our 1.15 sitting we were still waiting for pudding at 2.50!!!
I took my son and his partner for a birthday treat Sunday Roast, and they agreed it was the best Sunday Roast they had had.
Lovely family get together good food great service. Second visit in a month
We have visited you on several occasions before. It is a meeting point for friends. We travel from S Wales and out friends from Bicester. They were very impressed and it was a lovely experience for all four of us.
Surprisingly cosy for such a huge building. Enjoyed the paddle of on-site brew beers (even if the pale did taste strangely almondy!). Food brought before drinks, but that disappointing error was acknowledged by discount, so fair enough. Food only stopped from full 5-star rating by being a little inconsistent in temperature. Overall though very enjoyable and will certainly return if in area
This place has gone down hill since the new owners took over. Serving burnt bread and the service was so slow... will not be going back!!! Stay away.
