The Weighbridge Brewhouse
PLEASE BE AWARE ANY WEEKDAY BOOKINGS, LUNCHTIME OR EVENING THROUGHOUT DECEMBER CANNOT BE MADE ONLINE.
Thursday night at The Weighbridge had a lovely, nicely busy atmosphere. Service was attentive , pleasant and professional. Nice selection of starters/ nibbles and mains. Fish was nicely presented and tasty.
I've been to the Weighbridge often in the week and it is consistently very good. Food choice is good. Service has been excellent every time. Had the steak deal tonight which was delicious, after a sharing platter which all enjoyed.
Always lovely food and service. Menu and decor has changed but still have the same high level of service
We had a lovely date night at the Weighbridge on Saturday. Beautiful restaurant with lovely food and great service.
Brilliant we had a great evening for my fiance's birthday!
Food was amazing and service was excellent - thank you.
Menu choices are excellent...veggie and gluten free etc. Clearly marked.
Food excellent and plentiful.
Historical venue with loads of character....the clue is in the name.....and refers to railway engines and rolling stock.
Just a great evening out and visit on a Friday or a Saturday and you'll be entertained with a backdrop of live music...pianist, guitarist, harpist or a fabulous female vocalist....
It's a place not to miss...
First time back in ages but really liked . Good food. Great service. Will be back
Excellent service, food!
After looking at the menu i went for the two course meal,
The chorizo scotch egg with roasted pepper coulis & petit salad was a great start too my meal.
It was only seconds away from being a perfect egg,Masterchef would of been happy.
So it WAS worth the wait,So next time chef or chef's don't rush as i am wanting too see how good this new team of chef's are !.
My main meal was the roast sirloin of oxford beef with roast potatoes a yorkshire pudding vegetables and roasting juices. It was a very nice meal But i could of been so much better if there was no string that tied the beef when it was roasting in the oven still on my plate !,vegetables was blanched. So if you like very hard veg your be fine.
The roasting juices on the plate had split so its been on a hot plate too long or too much fat in the juices,Potatoes was small but the meat made up for that,Pink and full of flavour and NOT chewy.
In short A year ago i had a sunday dinner from hell and the manager at the time was just full of BS.
I will be back again as the food is better service is better and still a very good pint of ale.
One of the best in swindon, Welcome back The weighbridge brewhouse you have been missed.
We enjoyed a lovely romantic dinner for two last Saturday. We loved the building, it’s decor and atmosphere, and the meal was absolutely delicious. Even when our coffee order was initially forgotten, we received 3 apologies from 3 different people which took away totally any frustration on our behalf. We would recommend the venue to friends and will be going back with our 19 year old daughter who we think will love it
Excellent evening. Very nice food, great atmosphere and very efficient, friendly service.
Be prepared to spend money, but don’t be worried about what you get for it.
Definitely get what you pay for with this place. Excellent service, lovely atmosphere.
Great atmosphere, loved the food, good choice of ingredients. Menus selection was good.
Went for a friends birthday and it was lovely the service was excellent the little touches were a lovely gesture. Will definitely go again
Great food great place great staff. hated the colour of the chairs didnt leave a tip as served by 5 different people so didn’t know who would get the tip or how it would be broken down. Other than the chairs and the various servers we absolutely loved it food, service and ambiance were brilliant.
A nice meal after a hard week at work,Thank you Weighbridge Brewhouse
food not to mine or the lady wife liking meat not cooked as asked for vegetbles to al dante and not a very good selection service and staff were very good shame about the meal
Fantastic afternoon had by all. When you’re introducing your girlfriend to your mum, you want everything to go well.
The team were brilliant. Friendly, engaging, helpful and importantly patient, we had a great time.
The food too was fantastic - the other half said that the beef in her roast was the best she had had when out for dinner. She’s right, the mains were excellent, as were the desserts......I actually wanted a second Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Looking forward to another visit.
Delicious food, superb and smiley service and lovely atmosphere - highly recommend!
It was good. The startes were small but very tasty. The mains are ok. They took very long to serve in plate ( 20 minutes +).
The presentation of the drinks was great.
Best beer in Swindon. Food good, although some things on the menu are a bit fancy for me. I had a very nicely cooked rump steak. Good choice of veggies.
Service was polite but very slow. Food was nice but not as impressive as previous visits.
First time visiting and thoroughly enjoyed my time at the weighbridge. The food was divine. Such high quality overall. The actual setting was to a high standard, well decorated and pleasing to the eye. The staff were also of a high standard. Great service, friendly and professional.
Came for Sunday lunch. It was fairly quiet but the service was great and quick. The waitress was very friendly and it was nice having some of the dishes brought out by the chef. Food was superb. Will definitely be back!
Love the new decor and the live harp music was perfect. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic as always. Am looking forward to spending some time in the new garden too. Good job!
The chap that welcomed us was really personable and accommodating, then I'm afraid it went down hill from there. Once we were seated, 10 minutes later we had to call over a waitress to order some drinks as they hadn't been over once, and a group of them were stood near us for a while just chatting. When they were called over they weren't particularly friendly. Our starters were tasty, I'll give you that, I had the beetroot which was forgiven for being small, because it tasted good and there was a variety of tastes and textures on the plate. We were, however, all disappointed with our mains. For the price they lacked finesse, and we all expected something a bit different to what we received. Nothing resembled what the descriptions bigged them up to be. My husband had the duck which was a bit chewy, and the daufinoise potatoes were hard and not very creamy. He chose it for them and was disappointed. My mother ordered the swordfish, when it came out they said "the swordfish salad"... My mum wasn't expecting a salad, and was a bit flummoxed. Even though the items listed were on the plate it didn't sell itself as a salad on the menu, she'd have chosen something else. The chilli dressing was a bit bland as well. My dad ordered the steak, which was also disappointing for the price. The special butter was also really bland & oily, he wished he'd gone for good old garlic butter. I ordered the pork, which just looked a bit rubbish to be honest, I was expecting some kind of sticky/crispy crust, although the pork was soft, the fat on top was just that - fat. Flobby and soggy. The noodles were watery, overall the flavours were OK...But just that - OK. The wine was nice. But we've had that before and knew it would be. We were really looking forward to going back to the Weighbridge, we live locally & I've been following the pictures of the food and the reviews on social media, which looked to have been improving. Unfortunately you didn't get my vote. Waitress training might help.
Great food. Loved the pork belly on pak Choi with noodles. Others had the Goan curry which went down well. Good value for money.
Thank you very much for my meal on wednesday evening. Great food great service but Needs too be a better bar service and great ale too. See you all again.

Beautiful surroundings and good food. We will certainly go there again.
Food was exquisite and the staff were really friendly. Being a coeliac and not having to delve through a huge file to make a meal was brilliant.
The menu has much improved over the last few weeks. We had noticed that the food quality had gone down over the last year or so, but it seems as though this has greatly improved.
As a group we were happy with the food in general - I was the only British person at the table, my guests seemed impressed by the quality of British food. My slow cooked braised beef was a lot tougher than I expected, it was tasty but I wouldn't have it again. For Dessert we had 2x sharing platters, brilliant idea and I enjoyed all 5 of the desserts! Although our table was booked for 6.45pm we did not seat ourselves until after 8pm and the staff did not pressurise us to be seated, it was a nice evening so we enjoyed the outdoor seating area instead. I hope to be back soon
Not been for a while, the place has had a massive make over and so has the menuss!! Absolutely loved the food and the presentation was perfect. The service was outstanding. Can’t wait to eat there again.
Great food and attentive service
The complaint was all about the food . Staff were lovely although didn’t offer a refund or replacement meal. I wouldnt return especially Not for a roast - there was no vegan option so the veggie was adapted , leaving a small veggie/falafel burger which is poor for a restaurant of this so called quality, no vegan starter or desert so vegans don’t have anything to chose from at all ! Artichoke on the website Sunday menu was not available. Beef was like leather and table next to us returned it . We had one vegan in our dinner party and three beef eaters - so overall not happy with food. Veg may as well have been raw as was so hard - my 94 year old father hardly ate anything as not able to . Over priced and would not return.
Haven't been to the Weighbridge for a few years. Under new ownership now. Menu choices were plentiful and food was delicious. Couldn't fault service either. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Excellent lunch. Attentive and very polite young lady looked after us. Great food, nicely served. No feeling of being rushed. Very reasonable pricing and would thoroughly recommend.
We really enjoyed the experience, the staff were very friendly and some of the food was lovely.
My food that I ordered which was the Goan curry with added chicken had to be sent back as the chicken was cold.
The service was great, staff were smiling and friendly, the restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated. The only downside was was lamb, two of us ordered a lamb dinner which was very fatty and looked like a mushy blob of meat just thrown on the plate but the rest of our dinner was lovely and can only imagine this this as a one off? But that was minor compared to the rest of our time there and would return again! :)
Food was very good but service left a lot to be desired.
Service was incredibly slow - we sat down for lunch at 12:45 and finally left at 4pm (only a table of 3 adults and 2 children so not a large party). Part of my meal was missing which I immediately pointed out to the server who said “oh ok” and promptly disappeared never to be seen again. At no point during our meal did anyone check on whether everything was ok and there was a distinct lack of staff on the floor to be able to beckon someone. I never got the missing part of my meal. At the end I had to get up and find someone at the bar so I could pay the bill as no one was around to ask for it. The restaurant wasn’t very busy at all by this point.
A real shame as the food was excellent and the place itself is lovely.
