A special occasion for my husband and myself so wanted some where special. This restaurant did not disappoint. From the food to the ambience, wine list, service ,it ticked all the boxes.
Plenty of menu choice and the lamb which we both choose was cooked the way we asked.
My husband and I had a lovely pre- show dinner here. The food was excellent with a good choice of wine. As a vegetarian I felt well catered for with good choices. The staff were very attentive too.
I have been to the Western Club a few times and it is never disappointing! The ambience, the service and the food is absolutely first class. The manager and staff are excellent. we will be back.
Food was delicious and the restaurant/club looks amazing. I had purchased a voucher for a four course meal for my husband’s birthday and had clearly stated it in the description when I booked the table (and I could see it on the computer screen of the restaurant when we arrived), but the maitre’d made an unpleasant fuss about it at the start which got the birthday celebrations off to an awkward start and was totally unnecessary. One of the waiters acknowledged my husband’s birthday towards the end with the dessert, which was nice.
A hidden gem right in the heart of Glasgow, walked past this place probably a dozen times not realising what an absolute delight of a restaurant. Impeccable service, excellant food and modern yet relaxing ambience. I will definitely be back. 10/10 AAA+
My wife took me here for a meal to celebrate my birthday as she had been previously and enjoyed it.
Food was good, service was efficient but relaxed, with the restaurant set in a beautiful room.
We will probably return.
Whilst the execution was pretty strong the menu was not very exciting and the ambiance in the place was a little dry. To be fair it was a quite night in most places that evening. I think they could afford to be a little more adventurous with the menu though as they can clearly cook.
My starter (Chicken liver parfait) would have benefited from a cleaner plate and the brioche being warm would have been a treat. The main (chicken with dauphinoise) was just a little boring.
First visit to the Western Club. Friendly welcome and excellent attention to detail. The dining room is contemporary and relaxing and the service is professional and attentive. The meal was excellent and there was a good and well priced wine list. All in all a great night and thoroughly recommended.
Not keen on the decor, but the food, as always, is excellent, wine delicious, service exemplary and the best dining I have come across in Glasgow.
Terrific - food, service, location were excellent as usual..will return
Excellent food, wonderful service and great surroundings. Perfect birthday meal, even gave me a special birthday treat. Will certainly be back
Recommended by several friends. A most enjoyable dining experience. Tasteful decor which added to the ambience. Attentive service that was never intrusive - provided by pleasant and talented young people and a watchful maitre d'
The scallops on Stornoway black pudding were mouth-wateringly good. Folowed by a delicious fillet of hake with crabcake. Excellent selection of affordable wines. Definitely added to my 'favourites' list!
This was our 2nd visit to the Western Club and it only confirmed my impression of our 1st visit. It is such a lovely place to meet friends and enjoy wonderful food and talk without having to shout to one another. The ambience is just serene. The location great and delicious food. Keep up the good work.
A wonderful dining experience. Was rather quiet whilst we were there, but food, surroundings and service was amazing, thank you.
Very comfortable surroundings. The dessert read well, but turned out a bit bland.
I went to the Western club for a Birthday occasion for the first time and I thought the food was excellent .the staff were attentive and the ambiance of the restaurant was excellent. Will definitely frequent this restaurant again in the near future.
It’s been a while since we’ve been but everything is as good as it ever was. Hubby and I shared chateaubriand which was cooked medium well exactly to our taste. The peppercorn sauce was a delight as were the fries. Dessert hit the spot. The service is impeccable without being stuffy and the decor and comfort are great. It was good to be back.
Food was was cooked perfectly. Well presented. Lovely place to go for a special occasion. Nice friendly staff. Nice menu with a good choice.
Excellent food service and setting.
Not kid friendly but that's ok, keeps it very adult themed.
I took 2 friends on Saturday for lunch. My friends had never been and enjoyed every minute. I have been a few times and it never disappoints. Lovely venue, great service and wonderful food and wine. Yes, I will be back. Thank you so much again for a lovely experience.
Very enjoyable lunch. Staff very efficient and friendly. Most attractive venue.
Enjoyed a really super meal here as an early Mother’s Day lunch - two daughters visiting Glasgow and very happy to be able to take mums out for lunch. Perfect setting with a beautiful and quiet room, attentive and knowledgeable staff, lovely food and great wine selection. I would definitely recommend and will return on my next visit.
Excellent as always
This was my 60th birthday dinner. We requested the 8 seater Royal table. Everything about the evening was perfect. From the professionalism of the staff, decor, quality of the food and wine. I will definitely be returning.
Perfect meal and service. Great location. Wonderful afternoon.
My friends and I had a lovely meal in a beautiful restaurant for my special birthday celebration. We had great service and phoned ahead for a seat at the window. Two of our party are vegetarian and although not an extensive choice for them we all had a delicious 3 course meal.
Fabulous food and service. Was there for market menu with son an daughter in law I have been here several times and always been amazing. Fine dining beautiful surrounding's. Can't wait to go back. The staff are so nice and helpful. Matt was our waiter this time very good service great sense of humour ..thanks Matt ..
Lovely restaurant in a nice location. Service was in the whole good but slow in giving menu, removing plates. Lots of staff but seemed busy resetting tables rather than serving customers. Food was delicious and to a high standard although the pasta main dish (ravioli) was disappointing. Food and drinks expensive but a nice treat and would recommend ..... just need to work on service a wee bit
Excellent service. Great for a leisurely lunch and get together
The food was excellent, served by well mannered and trained staff. Although I was part of a party of 8 and may have been a little loud for other diners, we were provided with a trully first class night out
Each time I visit Glasgow I always dine at the Western Club. The new menu, kitchen, staff and decor makes it a must for all who visit or live in Glasgow. Great value.
High quality fine dining experience, of which their are relatively few in Glasgow
Excellent food with friends, Quiet ambience to talk. Very good service and attention. Varied wine list. Faultless!
The Western Club Restaurant has to be one of Glasgow's best restaurants for a quality night out. We'd last visited here about a year ago and were looking forward to having a nice meal in nice surroundings. We thought we'd try the venue opposite, No 29, for a pre dinner cocktail but when we got there it was packed and noisy so we did an about-turn and went to the lovely cocktail bar in the Western Club restaurant instead. Bliss. A window-side table and drinks brought to your table was the tonic required. My martini, described as a bone-dry martini, was not bone dry at all - too much martini overpowering the gin - but was OK. My companion's Manhattan on the other hand hit the spot. Our corner table for dinner was perfect and so were our starters. The scallops I had were plump and succulent. The slivers of black pudding on which they were served looked elegant but I'd suggest they were just too thin to be able to taste the black pudding. And when black pudding complements scallops so well, you really want the taste. My companion's butternut squash soup went down a treat - and so did his main of side of lamb served with potatoes, a bed of root vegetables and something else I've forgotten. I had selected a vegetarian dish for a change - pumpkin ravioli in a tomato sauce. I hope to god it didn't come from Waitrose and that it was home made in the restaurant because I really enjoyed it. The pasta was firm and the pumpkin was full of flavour. Accompanying the meal was a bottle of Crianza - ruby-red and plum and cherry flavours I'd venture. If you want a classy meal in classy surroundings that aren't stuffy, the Western Club Restaurant is the one to go for. I like Urban Brasserie too but on a Saturday night its bar is murder to negotiate.
This was our 2nd visit to the Western Club, the experience matched the first and we will be back the next time we are in Glasgow.
Had a wonderful evening at The Western Club. The restaurant is beautiful. We had a nice table by the window overlooking the square. We ordered the Chateaubriand, which was sublime. Make sure to save space for the chocolate torte. Delicious. 5 stars.
An excellent restaurant that I ha e been to before and am sure I will return to many times. First class menu and excellent service
I regularly visit the club and think it excels as a dining venue that is both relaxed and formal with great food, wine and service
