The Western Club Restaurant
Our new Executive Chef Kevin O'Neill serves the finest of Scottish ingredients, presented by Piero and his dedicated, professional front of house team.
The dining room itself, designed by Amanda Rosa, is beautifully inviting; intimate, warm and perfect for groups of between 2 and 60 people. Please make reservations at least 30 minutes prior to seating time.
This booking was to celebrate my husband's 61st birthday but no attempt was made to recognise this. I have eaten in the Western Club several times and have bought vouchers for a few family members as gifts but after this most recent visit I will not return.
Despite having been highly recommended, the standard and choice of food was disappointing, service poor and there was no atmosphere. Unfortunately, a disappointing experience.
Have always enjoyed Western Club but disappointed on this occasion and would not therefore recommend it any longer.
Food which is normally exceptional was very mediocre. Only one kind of bread in the bread basket and one small slice per person. On requesting more bread our server brought the basket with exactly five small slices of the same bread, one per person. Portions of main meal seemed smaller than usual. All in all the impression given was cutting back on food although servers were still very pleasant. Restaurant was much less busy than usual
We booked the table for 4pm but were told on arrival that only the a la carte menu was available as the 2 courses for £20 was only till 3pm on a sat. This is not the information that is on the website. Food was lovely but we weren't expecting our bill to be over £100
Excellent service and the food was really good. The market menu was exceptionally priced. This restaurant was new to us but will definitely return.
Could not fault the food. In general the place did not exude much charm. The waiting staff were very attentive. You have to ring the doorbell to enter and concierge staff ‘welcomes’ you..the welcome was most definitely cold and uninviting, perhaps being a family this was not the clientele they expect on a Saturday evening, my presumption. We were not asked for coats until we were seated and perhaps by standing at table to remove coat, staff were prompted into action. All the glitz did not impress me.
As always delicious food and great service in beautiful surroundings. Our lunch was wonderful (although some might think £95 for a lunch for two is rather expensive). I chose the market fish of the day - plaice. It was cooked to perfection. One minor issue: I think the mains should include sides whereas they have to be ordered and are charged separately.
As a member of an affiliated Club to the Western, I occasionally stay overnight. The food at the restaurant was exceptionally good. I had the set lunch menu & was very impressed.
The restaurant itself was lovely and the food was excellent, unfortunately the service we received from our server left us with a distasteful experience. Perhaps she was having an off day or perhaps she was new, regardless this server is the reason we would never recommend this restaurant. I will not go into the details here as the whole evening when we look back on it borders on the strange and unusual, but if the management wishes they may send a private note, to which a detailed account of our horrific evening can be relayed.
Food was very nice although there was not a lot of it. Had to ask for the market menu as the standard a la carté menu was all that was presented..... hmmmm?
Surroundings were lovely as was the service.
I was slightly disappointed by the choice on market menu but the standard was very high.
Can’t help but think this place would be more successful if it was less stuffy.
Having to traipse 2 floors to get to the bathroom is also a chore albeit there is a lift.
Overall, good but could be better.
Had a wonderful Saturday lunch. Brought family along and was grateful that they really enjoyed it. Our waiter was excellent, food delicious, a great day.
Fantastic service from all of the staff and the food was exceptional, best lunch in town!
Very nice atmosphere; food and service were great.
Food and service very good but expensive compared to other restaurants for lunch. Great place to chat and have a leisurely lunch would go again despite the cost
This was our favourite restaurant since it opened on our previous visit we were a bit disappointed but thought we would give it another try unfortunately once again we were disappointed the new owners appear to be more interested in profits than standards, no canapés no coasters scallops and black pudding which consisted of a sprinkling of black pudding unbelievable, the new owners need to take a long hard look at themselves the restaurant was perfect as it was in loosing Jim I’m afraid you have lost your way as things stand we won’t be back as there are many good restaurants in Glasgow.
An excellent place for a special occasion or family meal. Very good service and the food was delicious. We will return again.
I’ve dined at The Western Club quite a few times and I’ve always experienced fantastic service and had great food. The staff are friendly and attentive and always accommodating. I love it here!
Excellent food well presented with a very pleasant waitress
Had a lovely lunch with my niece celebrating life, food was great and adapted the menu to our needs/taste. Great value and the staff looked after us well.
An oasis of calm and welcoming dining on a hot day in Glasgow city centre. Charming service. Delicious and light Table d’hote menu.
Steak came out over done twice. Service was great. Many wonderful flavors but some execution failures in the kitchen.
Had a very enjoyable meal here last Saturday. There is some background music but fairly muted, so the atmosphere is very pleasant and "clubby", as you would expect!
The service was very friendly and helpful. I managed to spill a glass of champagne but was not charged for this.
The food was excellent and the whole experience was enjoyable.
It is not cheap but well worth the money. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Lovely lunch at the Western Club. Excellent food and service.
Loved this quiet, classy restaurant in the centre of Glasgow. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Great value Market Menu - every dish we tried was delicious.
The food and service are always fantastic here. Market menu is great value.
The food is full of flavour but could be doing with larger portions. Overall, always enjoyable and lived up to our expectations once again.
Used to really enjoy coming here. Food was good and portions adequate. Portions now very small and quality ok. Main course could have been hotter. £3.30 for a small cup of coffee a bit steep.
Lovely food friendly staff great service
The atmosphere was very comfortable and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in fine dining
Nice atmosphere in restaurant and staff very attentive. Selected from market menu which was ok. Portions quite small and not best selection on offer which was disappointing. Wouldn’t put me off going back though.
Been to Western Club couple of times before and it was outstanding and because of this I thought I treat my brother and sister, and their partners, to a wonderful meal. Unfortunately the standard of food had dropped since I was last there and my guests were left disappointed after my build up. The place and the service were wonderful but the prices had gone up and the food standard had gone down.
This is a hidden gem and defo worth a visit, everything on offer for a great lunch/meal, food utterly delish n service second to none. Will be back again soon!
Fantastic service, food and ambience. Cannot recommend highly enough
Very good ambiance, service and food. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended.
Was a lovely afternoon and the occasion was a graduation . We were made to feel special and our waiter couldn’t have been more attentive
Overall experience was great, but the level of service was absolutely fantastic. Great customer service and attention to detail. Well done
Fabulous food in beautiful surroundings with first class staff who made us feel welcome from the minute we stepped through the door.
Glad to say since the management has changed it was a totally different visit from December 2017.
Wld definitely recommend.
Extremely surprised at the quality and ambience. Wine list exceptional value.
We had the market menu at lunch time and enjoyed our choice selection. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Our waiter was very professional.
Would absolutely recommend to friends. Everything about our lunch was perfect
