The White Hart Overton
The food was really good I had a ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. Very friendly staff and a really good atmosphere.
Lovely pub with a very nice vibe, absolutely delicious food and the service was really outstanding, all of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly
Met up with friends for lunch, I had been to the White Hart before, but my two friends hadn’t.
Were given a table next to log fire which was nice, as it was a cold January day. The service we had was good throuout, plenty of time to choose from menu. All our food was well presented and flavours were good. Two of us just had a starter and dessert, the main course I had was lovely but a just too large portion. Would definitively recommend the chocolate Baileys free standing brûlée, really delicious. We were all very pleased with the experience and will definitely return.
Fantastic Sunday lunch, food was delicious and service attentive. Have visited on a number of occasions and will continue to in the future, would highly reccommend to all
We had a fabulous lunch at the white hart after a great morning at Bombay sapphire distillery! The food was outstanding and such a large variety and good choices on the menu, you really are spoilt for choice. Only negative was we waiting quite a long time for our food but the waitresses were all very sweet and apologetic. Would recommend to a friend and definitely going to go back!
Great food and service thanks! Would recommend to anyone.
Absolutely great. Service great, food amazing . Would recommend to go
Our first visit to the White Hart and I can see us coming back again.
The Pub itself is a very nice looking place, with a dining area and a set of table in the area of the bar. Although it was not the nicest of evenings, there is also a very nice patio area that on a nice day, I suspect it would be difficult to leave!
The menu is very good. We had - what had to be one of the best - sharing platters. It was massive! It had the best choice of any that we've seen and this is always a good starting point for us and usually sets the impression. We highly recomment it but beware, you won't have a lot of room left!
My wife had a lovely fish dinner, Duo of Bream & Chalk Stream Trout Filets on Lemon and Dill Crushed Potatoes, Spinach, Green Beans, Samphire and Lobster Cream Sauce, which she thoroughly enjoyed and was struggling towards the end due to the excellent portion sizes.
I had the steak burger. Not being at all fond of all the fillers and stuffing, I ordered mine pas d'crap (no lettace, sauces, etc, just the meat, with bacon and cheese. This will tell you whether you're getting a decent burger or just a bit of meat spaced between loads of stuff. It was perfect. Simple as that. The meat was cooked just the way it should be (for me, a touch of pink), the bacon and cheese we not overwhelming and a touch of ketchup made for one of the best restaurant burgers going. Only spice was a bit of pepper, which got a touch warm towards the end, but that was fine, as it made the burger a little more different from the others.
A great place, great meals and by how busy it was when we arrived, a good place to spend time at. Yep, I think we'll be back (sorry for the Arnie-ism)!
I appreciate it’s a very busy time but we were rushed through our meal because the table was wanted. Within one hour we had been served all 3 courses and were made to feel like we had to go. The food was delicious and the staff were lovely and I would go there again but unfortunately I will not be dining there for a Christmas meal next year
Fantastic service - the staff couldn’t do enough for us, and the food itself was delicious. Would highly recommend the duo of bream and trout with lobster sauce.
One tip for the White Hart: Buy a few dining chairs with arms or higher seats. My disabled mother found it hard to stand after the meal, and sure other diners have had similar issue.
Very quiet as it was a Monday evening. Overall the service was good and the food was excellent. I will definitely be returning.
Amazing food and selection on the menu was lovely, hard to choose!!! Would definitely return and recommend to others.
The decor and the feel of this pub is gastro country pub. The service was slow but pleasant which wouldn’t normally matter but as the food was overly seasoned- too salty- it made for a mediocre night out. I probably would give it another go but I won’t be recommending to friends.
We booked a table for 7.45pm on a Friday evening as we were visiting and staying nearby. We arrived at 7.35 and waited for several minutes before any of the staff greeted us, the bar was reasonably busy and most tables appeared to be in use.
We were told our table wasn’t quite ready and offered a drink. After about 10 more minutes we were told it wouldn’t be long as the people at the table were paying their bill. Another 5 minutes passed and I asked if we could sit somewhere while we waited, the waitress told us there was a lounge area so we went through and decided to take one of the free tables and eat there rather than in the restaurant area.
Food was ordered, starters came reasonably quickly and then a lengthy wait for the main course and some top up water.
The food was tasty, but on the basis of the slow service I wouldn’t hurry back.
To be fair we were given a discount on our meal in recognition of the service, the staff just seemed rushed and that affected the quality of service and attention they could give.
Excellent meal and service. Staff very attentive and polite. Recommended.
Food took a little too long to come and the tofu/tofish was a bit bland (it's a massive slab of tofu that could have done with some marinating), but it's fantastic that they cater so well for special diets and all the staff were super friendly.
A pleasant lunch, with good food attentive service and comfortable surroundings.
Beautiful meal and great service. A real treat to go there.
Good food and great waitress. Blonde bob. I already have recommended it and will be back. Duo of fish spot on though could do with more veg with it. Carrotts and potatos so cheap so why not add value?! It was sitting on a small amount of samphire n spinach but it was lush just add value with veg. Please. Karen.
It is was a very good dining experience. We liked that the tables are not too close together, giving it a very relaxed feeling. Superb food too.
Previous visits the food was good, this time fish and chips were well below par. Soufflé was also below par
Lovely venue and atmosphere with delicious food and friendly efficient service.
Tried the new season menu. Excellent choices to try to pick from. Jacobs ladder of beef was outstanding. Service from Chloe & Riley was superb.
Overall a lovely meal, however service was very slow and had to ask every time we needed something rather than waiters checking in. But staff very friendly
Very polite staff, food was not stunning but perfect fine. Lighting was a little on the cool side which prevented it feeling as cosy as it could.
We had a lovely meal and there was a good variety of food available on the menu. Service was great and overall good value for money.
Lovely food, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Service was very slow and when explaining we were really in a rush got no faster, pub was not busy so bit disappointing. Food was ok, roast very nice but veggie options bit naff. On plus side the portions were very generous and pub is lovely, staff friendly just all a bit slow
Outstanding. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Plenty to choose from and plenty to eat. Food was hot and served in good time. The staff are polite and service was excellent. We will definitely return and recommend without hesitation. Thank you
Beautiful meal, waitress very helpful and polite
Great as always. Dog friendly +++ and amazing service.
Beautiful fresh food, lovely atmosphere . Not the cheapest but well worth the money
A lovely local pub with a friendly helpful manner. Great midway point for friends to gather!
Fatastic service. Greeted st the foor & shown to our table. Servive was great. Attentive but not overpowering. Food was excellent. Piping hot & full of flavour.
Turned up to the restaurant someone else was sitting in our seat so we had to wait around 10 or15 minutes order our food it come out really nice loads of vegetables unfortunately the meat was probably the worst we’ve ever tasted my dad had lamb And I had beef we complained three times about it all we got was sorry was looking around other tables and they were complaining about the meat as well face potatoes are so hard and uncooked terrible meal for £50 for two for Sunday lunch would never recommend this to anyone to go there It’s a real shame as the pub looked really nice
Awesome. Full stop. Will be back again with friends soon. Thank you. Best Sunday lunch in a very long while
could do with a few more tap beer's added to the bar for better choice. Service was really high standard, so was the food, prices just a tad high but that's being REALLY picky. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely table by the window. 3 of our party had fish and chips, unfortunately it was very greasy. I’m a vegetarian and asked for the vegan/vegetarian menu as suggested at the bottom of the summer menu and was then told there wasn’t one but the kitchen would do something. Thought this was very poor. I had the summer salad which was very good. I ordered the fruit crumble for pudding which states on the menu that it comes with custard but was actually served with ice cream. All in all ok but not great. You need to improve you vegetarian menu.
Staff were friendly and very efficient. Food and drinks were served quickly. Good menu. Food was excellent, really hot, good ingredients well presented and nicely cooked. Great location for lunch when visiting the nearby distilliary. Highly recommended. Would definitely return.
Very good food, excellent service. Would go again if back in the area.
