The White Hart
Outstanding. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Plenty to choose from and plenty to eat. Food was hot and served in good time. The staff are polite and service was excellent. We will definitely return and recommend without hesitation. Thank you
Beautiful meal, waitress very helpful and polite
Great as always. Dog friendly +++ and amazing service.
Beautiful fresh food, lovely atmosphere . Not the cheapest but well worth the money
A lovely local pub with a friendly helpful manner. Great midway point for friends to gather!
Fatastic service. Greeted st the foor & shown to our table. Servive was great. Attentive but not overpowering. Food was excellent. Piping hot & full of flavour.
Turned up to the restaurant someone else was sitting in our seat so we had to wait around 10 or15 minutes order our food it come out really nice loads of vegetables unfortunately the meat was probably the worst we’ve ever tasted my dad had lamb And I had beef we complained three times about it all we got was sorry was looking around other tables and they were complaining about the meat as well face potatoes are so hard and uncooked terrible meal for £50 for two for Sunday lunch would never recommend this to anyone to go there It’s a real shame as the pub looked really nice
Awesome. Full stop. Will be back again with friends soon. Thank you. Best Sunday lunch in a very long while
could do with a few more tap beer's added to the bar for better choice. Service was really high standard, so was the food, prices just a tad high but that's being REALLY picky. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely table by the window. 3 of our party had fish and chips, unfortunately it was very greasy. I’m a vegetarian and asked for the vegan/vegetarian menu as suggested at the bottom of the summer menu and was then told there wasn’t one but the kitchen would do something. Thought this was very poor. I had the summer salad which was very good. I ordered the fruit crumble for pudding which states on the menu that it comes with custard but was actually served with ice cream. All in all ok but not great. You need to improve you vegetarian menu.
Staff were friendly and very efficient. Food and drinks were served quickly. Good menu. Food was excellent, really hot, good ingredients well presented and nicely cooked. Great location for lunch when visiting the nearby distilliary. Highly recommended. Would definitely return.
Very good food, excellent service. Would go again if back in the area.
Great food and choices, friendly helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere and great options on the wine menu. Good value.
The evening meal was very good, however we stayed over night & the room was outside & very noisy from the road & staff in the storeroom in the morning.
Breakfast was ok but nothing special
The team were friendly, and knowledgeable. Attentive but not overbearing. The food was delicious.
Our experience overall was very good, the food was excellent, the service was a bit lacking, considering there were very few customers, but when they did serve us they were very friendly.
Fab service from Chloe T, such an attentive waiter. Food was fab as always, we are locals so come here quite often but with our 1 year old we definitely got a well over average service for her as the waitress paid extra special attention to her which is very rare!! Thanks Chloe. We will be back!
Absolutely amazing food 10/10! Highly recommend and will definitely be going back!
We checked in on 28/7 for 1 night in a deluxe double room bed and breakfast.
The facilities were impeccable , very comfortable bed, plenty of complimentary coffee and tea and bottled water. Flat screen tv, fan if too hot, complimentary shower gel, shampoo ect just in case anything is forgotten ...
We booked in for dinner at 7pm. The service from the staff was beyond expectation. The knowledge of the food served and drinks available was faultless.
We had baked Camembert and squid and prawns for starters, fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding. Followed by Irish liquor coffee’s. The standard of food was incredible.
There was plenty of choice for breakfast too - so much so, it was difficult to choose! We had sausage sandwich and poached egg with portabello mushrooms. We sat outside as it was a beautiful sunny morning. The ambience was relaxing and staff were polite, courteous and friendly.
I would not hesitate in staying again, thank you.
Since moving into the area 3 years ago, my wife and I visit The White Hart every couple of months or so.
Without exception, if it is at the end of the week we have had a really good meal in friendly surroundings and good service. This Friday was no different except the service was outstanding with Chloe looking after us in a most delightful manner. She has obviously been well trained and must thoroughly enjoy her job, which was apparent as I listened to her taking orders and connecting with the customers. Thank you.
Very good quality food, service and feel. Make sure you try the black pudding scotch egg starters!! :) WOW
Excellent food. Special evening - price ok. Service a little slow.
Plates were not flat.made it difficult to cut a 16oz steak.rest of food kept falling of.
Poor service, overpriced and a strange smell - not good at all
Very nice food well prepared and served by extremely pleasant staff
Good room in the stables that was perfectly clean but in need of some refurbishment. Service at the bar, reception and in the restaurant was excellent. Food was very good - dinner and breakfast.
It was Fathers' day, we went in the evening and staff were clearly rushed and this reflected in their attitude. Staff had clearly not been briefed on T&Cs of Fathers' day deal where dad eats free, I asked 3 times and still did not have a clear answer. Nice that he didn't have to pay as his vegetables were so late to the table he had finished the rest of his food. Not the dessert he wanted for his birthday, which was the reason for the visit. More staff, better briefed required. Prices like these require service, attitude and food to match, all sadly lacking.
We had a really lovely evening at The White Hart after having been to Bombay Sapphire and caught the shuttle bus from there into Overton. We had booked in advance, but only during the week before. The staff were great, very friendly, and were able to answer questions we had with regards to the menu. The food was delicious. Thoroughly recommend the Southern Fried Chicken Burger. The rest of the group had a curry which they all loved too. The drinks were made well in the appropriate glasses. All in all a very pleasant visit. Well done The White Hart.
Our experience was very average. It was a birthday meal treat for my in laws. Although the staff were friendly, the service itself was pretty slow. My husband ordered a drink when he arrived after my party had at the bar, this did not come to the table, so he ordered again through another waitress, this still did not arrive. Eventually it materialised that they didn’t even have the beverage available?? He waited a good 20 minutes or so for a drink. The food again was average, not worth what is charged in our opinion, very little meat in wraps. My child’s meal said it came with peas, it in fact came with a corse looking pea purée, my 5 year old was not impressed and needless to say this was left. A strange thing to come with a child’s under 6 menu no matter how good a child’s pallet. We always try and give the White Hart another chance after time goes by being local but it never seems to improve. The staff always seem too busy to want to serve, customers are almost an inconvenience which is bizarre considering they pay there wages. It is a crying shame, I do think there needs to be a radical change in retraining staff with a emphasis on treat those how you would like to be treated, by people paying your wages especially. Unfortunately we will not be returning until we hear of huge changes being made to the business.
Didn't get served for 40 minutes so we walked out.
Wonderful birthday meal....
Lovely way to spend an afternoon - lovely lunch and great wine list.
As it was a bank holiday Monday we were asked to move our reservation time forward by 30mins as the kitchen was closing early.
There was one young lady in the restaurant looking after the tables, so this meant that service was slow. We had to ask twice for water for the table as it had been forgotten. We had a wait for food (which was nice when it came). We sat for ages for our plates to be cleared. Then had to ask for dessert menus and was told the kitchen was closed.
We had bought some drinks and cocktails (had to wait as there was no pineapple juice and someone had gone out to fetch some) and were happily drinking them when the manager came over saying the bar was closing at 10pm (allegedly Sunday hours!!!) but we was ok to continue sitting in the restaurant as we were residents in the hotel side. By this time we felt very uncomfortable and obviously not wanted as we were an inconvenience, so we went back to our room.
As usual...top food and service at this excellent village venue...we will be back in August
Fantastic staff. Happy to make alterations to the meal if you don't like something. Food served promptly & piping hot.
Fantastic customer service by all staff.
Made an extra effort to wish my partner a happy birthday.
And great food.
Doors were open cigarette smoke wafting where we had been seated was very strong and unpleasant.
We are going to stay again.😀👍🍷😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Great place to eat - and drink. A great local pub with good food.
As always the food in the White Hart was outstanding. The portions are huge and the food amazing. Whilst the choice on the menu is not large it is just perfect. The staff are friendly and very good at their jobs. What more can you ask for?
The ambience is very nice at the White Hart. Unfortunately, the service and food doesn’t warrant the high cost.
