Delicious food, great service and a good price!
I was slightly disappointed that there was only a set lunchtime menu available and a la carte wasn't an option. We were spending a gift voucher and would possibly have chosen to come in the evening had we know a la carte wasn't available. This should have been mentioned at booking.
Only two meat choices but the menu was still interesting. The wine I chose was not available but the sommelier provided excellent replacements. The staff were helpful and self efficient at the same time. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Excellent food, beautifully and artistically prepared. Attentive and courteous staff.
As always wonderful food at The White Onion. Service was attentive but missed the mark on a few occasions. They had noted it was my husbands 40th which was lovely. Small issue when they brought out the wrong meal but they dealt with the issue very quickly and. The issue we had was that we waited for over 30mins having finished mains to get our dessert, given we’d had 2 courses in an hour it felt slow. Other than that it was all lovely
Great service and good food, but on the expensive side, including the extensive wine list.
Lovely food and good lunch menu choices. Seemed loud and boisterous though. Or maybe I’m just getting used to going out again.
Excellent food and wine, classy looking restaurant and felt covid secure.
Somewhat let down by disinterested and disengaged service.
Very good value. The birthday desert was a nice touch. Would return
Excellent food from a limited menu. The apple tart dessert was sublime.
Really lovely food. Nice atmosphere and good service. We had a great evening.
Great food and attentive service.
Very nice food and attentive service. Lovely selection of interesting flavours of fresh bread!
Our first time at the White Onion
Booking was easy
Service efficient and attentive without being over attentive
Food and drink excellent
Would definitely recommend and visit again
Pleasantly surprised.excellent food, good wine list and very good service. We Will definitely come back
Been wanting to visit pre lockdowns!
Had to wait until now. Was worth the wait! Will definitely be back.
A gem of a local restaurant serving delicious French/modern British food as well as gorgeous cocktails. Staff are friendly and very helpful and the decor is stunning.
Celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Service was great, loved that there was no rush to take orders/serve food.
Lovely place. Attentive and friendly staff. Food was excellent. Been trying to go for ages and will be back!
This is easily one of my favourite spots for lunch in London. Not only is the food outstanding but the service is impeccable. I can't recommend it enough.
Will be back very soon!
We booked to celebrate a belated birthday. It was one of our first evenings out since the start of the pandemic. The food was excellent and the wait staff were lovely. It was an ideal night out and we enjoyed it very much. Thanks for making our night special.
Nice quiet ambience. Wine list contained some lovely wines and some that were really good value for money (though you need to look through long lists). Our starters including the pea veloute were good. The mains were not good. My lamb shank consisted of two thin lamb chops, both of which contained globules of uncooked white fat. The wagyu beef was chewy. The side of potatoes was very over salted. The cheese plate was composed of tiny pieces of cheese - which would have been fine - if the cheese had been at all distinguished, but it wasn’t. The double espresso (served in a small mug) tasted unpleasantly bitter to the extent we had to leave it. It was not drinkable. The restaurant had no brandy or cognac - only calvados and Armagnac (it presents as a French restaurant). It really was not a Michelin star standard (which is advertised on the website).
Consistently lovely food and warm attentive service. I have every confidence in coming back here again and again
Lovely restaurant in Wimbledon. Great service and delicious food.
Great food and service! Our dinner was seamless; the staff were professional and attentive and the little touch to make the occasion even more special was the icing on the cake !
Thank you to the team for a great evening!
We chose the White Onion to celebrate an anniversary. It was highly recommended by friends and lived up to our expectations. The wagyu bavette and the halibut were superb and the wine list was comprehensive. The staff were attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best in Wimbledon Village.
We had a wonderful evening, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was exquisite!
Excellent service at The White Onion; you should have a good time if you go there. Food is amazing - and the set lunch during the week I’d very good value. Lovely atmosphere. A place to visit.
This is my regular restaurant when I visit Wimbledon - I've eaten elsewhere in Wimbledon and never found the experience as good as The White Onion. The set lunch is the best offer ever and to return after Covid lockdowns and find the restaurant is still offering such good value is a complement to their staying power.
Excellent food (complements to the chef) and a good selection of items on the menu. There is always a choice of two fish dishes (this really suits me) and plenty of choice for those that don't do fish. Starters are imaginative (including fish - hooray) and deserts are to die for. The service is friendly, efficient and not intrusive. They have a creative wine list and offer good house wine that won't break the bank.
I also visit an associate - The French Table, which is equally good, however a similar menu costs less in Wimbledon. So there you have it: whats not to like. Highly recommended.
Stunning fish as ever. Perfectly cooked and the presentation is so lovely.
Make sure to explore the "off the beaten track" section of the wine list. Pedro the sommelier is a genius!
Great good and a great setting. The noise does carry so wasn’t always easy to hear. Only point to make as the rest of the experience was fantastic. The staff could not help us enough
Fantastic place in the heart of Wimbledon Village. Great value menu, very knowledgeable staff who provided great service. Tables are nicely spaced, lovey atmosphere.
Lovely place with great food. Best restaurant in Wimbledon for me.
Great meal and service. Lovely touches for our anniversary with a special desert plate and personalised menus. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely long lunch.
Great tasting food and excellent value for the lunch set menu.
Food was fantastic, and reasonably priced as a set lunch menu considering portions etc.
Service was let down by forgetting an order for a dessert. This did arrive once questioned but no apology was given.
Still recommended despite this.
We normally have great food and service, however on Friday night we had a later evening sitting at 9pm. It took until 10.30pm to get our main meals and they were scorching hot when arrived - I think they had forgotten them and warmed them up in the microwave.
Sadly we won't be going back for a while.
Thank you for the personal touches which made my wife’s birthday feel special:-) food was exceptional as well as the service- we will be definitely returning
Amazing, delicious food and impeccably fantastic service! My favourite restaurant for sure, always have the best food and wine and super service!
Very good food, service attentive without being intrusive. Not too expensive for the quality and experience. Highly recommended!
