Food is always amazing and service is very smooth and attentive
The experience overall was great. My partner did think his cod (a fish that we eat a lot) was a bit too "fishy" when it's normally a more subtle white fish taste, so he struggled with the dish a bit. I tasted it myself and also thought it tasted a bit off. Other than that everything else was really nice and we would go there again for sure to try other dishes.
Delicious food and excellent service! Had a very enjoyable evening, I especially recommend the cod for the main.
The food was not only beautiful to look at, it was absolutely delicious. And the service was incredible too. So friendly and attentive
Delicious French food in a relaxed and pleasant setting with good service.
Unfortunately I was really disappointed by my experience at The White Onion. The menu simply wasn’t good enough. The gnocchi was extremely heavy and dense, the broccoli was greasy and the chocolate creme brûlée was a heavy chocolate mousse, not a brûlée with dry, heavy shortbread biscuits.
This restaurant was once a firm favourite in Wimbledon village but the standards just have dropped. Sadly I don’t think we’ll bother to return again as it’s simply not worth the money.
Had a wonderful lunch at the White Onion yesterday. Great cocktails, super delicious food and efficient but friendly service - thank you -:)
Please see my other reviews all very good. Good local restaurant.
Excellent meal once again! We love coming here - the food & service is 10/10. Cannot wait to have another lunch/dinner here.
As always another fabulous meal, this time to celebrate my sons 18th birthday and he absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to come back again very soon
The food and service were excellent and the wine list comprehensive and sensibly priced.
The only reason not to give 5 stars in each category is because we were given a table in the corner at the very back of the restaurant. This is surrounded by hard surfaces and noise echos making hearing difficult.
Excellent service, beautifully presented food. Everything was perfectly cooked.
Very nice food with good service. A little on the expensive side and it did lack a bit of ambiance. Would recommend though
Had a lovely evening here. Food is beautiful in taste and presentation and there's a good selection of wines to suit all tastes and budgets. Lighting is soft and seating comfortable. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Wonder ful good, atmosphere and service. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would return
Good cuisine, well presented and served, great ambience and an all round great experience. Highly recommended.
Fantastic evening, interesting and delicious food and cocktail menu, a tad pricey but a special treat
Beautiful and delicious food, friendly staff, excellent value for money.
Very nice birthday dinner, with very good attentive service. Food very good and wine list good. We went off the beaten track for wine and seemed liked reasonable value. Would def. go again.
A comfortable local restaurant offering good food and excellent service. On our regular dining list of restaurants.
Excellent restaurant in the Village; Food is superb and service is friendly and helpful. Throughly recommend it for Sunday lunch but book ahead as it's very popular.
Lovely Sunday lunch great service. Just amazing restaurant thanks
We were made very welcome. Food delicious and very well presented, staff courteous. A most enjoyable evening
Lovely restaurant and lovely food but at a price.
Beautiful food, excellent wine recommendation, lovely service. What more t ask for? Absolutely loved it
We had the set lunch which offered a good choice to suit different tastes. They were able to provide gluten free bread (we had notified beforehand) and assure us that the batter on the broccoli was also gluten free. The restaurant got busy but was adhering to the current Covid rules. All in all a pleasant experience that we plan to repeat.
Delicious food as always and great service. The chocolate creme brûlée was exquisite!
Booked for my daughter Birthday as we couldn't do the promised Family gathering due to restrictions and the evening was amazing!
The staff made her feel special straight away with a 'Special' menu with Happy Birthday at the top, a table in a quiet corner and a beautiful Birthday inscription on her dessert.
Food was beautiful as usual with a simpler menu. The bread is also a significant plus throughout the meal.
Service was efficient, safe (mask) and friendly.
We have dined here on a number of occasions and as of yet have never had a bad meal!
Lovely Sunday lunch with friends. Great menu and food was delicious. Very friendly service and a lovely atmosphere.
Best food in Wimbledon Village, best service, best value... Unique at all levels!!
Consistently Excellent - Sunday lunch menu - between the four of us we sampled almost everything from the starter, main course (except the Pork Belly) and dessert - Fish perfectly flavoured, Beef perfectly cooked.
Glad to have the White Onion back.
Always excellent. Saddle of venison superb. Monkfish excellent. Great service, relaxed atmosphere. A bit expensive
The menu selection was very good, the wines variety was also very good if a little on the expensive side.
The overall service was very good and not over atttentive.
Lovely food & atmosphere, good wine list, nice staff, minor point was that portions were on small side, even for fine dining!
Lively atmosphere despite Covid restrictions in place and very professional, attentive service meant we had a wonderful evening. The food was carefully prepared to showcase fresh ingredients, wonderful flavours and very attractively presented.
They gave us excellent guidance for wine as we wanted to try something new from Italy.
Would highly recommend the White Onion. Very lucky to have such a place in the suburbs
Excellent restaurant. Second visit there. High dining. Every mouthful full of flavor. Probably doesn’t matter what you select from menu as it’s all so good. Service attentive yet not intrusive. Higher price but worth it.
Best restaurant in Wimbledon village, and the food is always delicious.
We've been coming here for a number of years and it was faultless as usual. This was for our 5th wedding anniversary and the level of service was outstanding from our server Johan.
The food was delicious and the wine pairing excellent.
Felt really safe in COVID times with good spacing between tables.
