The honesty and quality of food is very much our focus, with an emphasis on imaginative, modern British cooking, using fresh produce sourced by local suppliers. Our menus change monthly to reflect this. Our signature dishes include 6 hour braised beef ribs for two to share, and our bun & cheek - ox cheek braised in Worcestershire sauce, served in a brioche bun with hand cut chips and dipping gravy.
Drinks also celebrate in our entrepreneurial spirit, with 14 draught beers and ciders, and 5 changing guest ales, with a focus on London cask producers. Highlights from our wine list include Gamay "Thirst" with a vibrant pink hue, yet striking strawberry and cranberry aromas, or the Gifford’s Hall Bacchus Vintage, from Suffolk, England, a Riesling/Sylvaner cross. This variety has a distinctive aromatic, slightly flinty quality though each season brings its own individuality.
Sunday roast favorite, never disappoints and the staff are awesome
Excellent food and service, just a bit noisy on a Saturday night, no doubt due to its popularity!
The Wilmington was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. We had Sunday roast which was delicious, if anything, there was so much we could not do it justice. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Lovely service and food ...
Great food, one of the best Gastro pubs in London.
Could not fault this place. Relaxed but attractive decor, lovely server. Felt very welcome .
Loved all the food we had.. great salad, chicken pie, sticky toffee pudding- perfect food for two jet-lagged people.
Food was excellent, nice place, good service, good location. Quite a bit pricier than I had been expecting though.
Great food and really lovely friendly service! The woman with short blonde hair in particular really made it a great experience, thank you!
Only feedback was it smelt strange that day - a bit bleach like, which isn’t their normal smell in there
Entertained friends from Moscow and we were extremely well looked after by all staff especially the kids. The food was wonderful and i will be back for the slow braised beef ribs.
Fantastic, friendly service. Lovely food at very reasonable prices.
Delicious Sunday roast
Very enjoyable meal. Starter of Onion Bhaji was excellent as was the main of Chicken Kiev. My friends had excellent meals as well.
Been here several times and it's always a great experience. Wonderful grown-up food and service. The goat cheese and mushroom Wellington, for Sunday Roast, is absolutely delicious. Fab Bloody Marys, too.
Absolutely, incredibly fabulous Sunday lunch at the Wilmington. Our waitress was fantastic and the food just perfect, including huge Yorkshire puddings, crisp and fluffy roast potatoes and superb pork and rib of beef. The room is just right too - not too big, not crowded. I will be back!
Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, lively but not overwhelming atmosphere and very good food. Recommend this one!
We enjoyed an excellent lunch in this pleasant pub before visiting the nearby Postal Museum. The barman/waiter was helpful, polite and friendly and the food we had was good value, nicely presented and tasty. Sadly there were very few customers when we were there. Would thoroughly recommend!
The bright, airy environment with friendly, professional service makes this place a real gem. With good food, a wine list to suit all budgets and tastes, as well as the bar itself, this is an easy place to wile away the hours on a Sunday afternoon.....
Great staff, food and atmosphere experienced on a Sunday when the pub quiz is on. We felt rushed at the end though after being offered the dessert menu and then by the time someone came back to take our orders we were told the kitchen would be closed so its not possible for hot puddings. Puddings came anyways and they were delicious! Chocolate fondant with coconut ice cream was insanely good.
Was alright, nothing to write home about. Fish stew was reasonable but needs serving with some chunky bread so that it is actually filling. Sticky toffee pudding came so quickly I’m convinced it came out of the microwave!
A very good meal it a decent price. Efficient friendly service, and a wine list that doesn't inflate the overall bill. There could be more specials on the board I guess, the choice is not fantastic. One the whole though it was a great overall experience, and I'd visit again without hesitation.
A very good experience in a nice friendly pub with good food.
A really great Gastropub with superfriendly staff, fantastic food and such a great ambiance.
We enjoyed a wonderful selection of roasts on a Sunday. Lovely staff and good vibe
Quality of food is excellent. The beef rib was so tender. Service was very good - efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Nice decor, large airy pub.
Great meal...very good food and excellent service... recommended..
Delicious food. Staff were really pleasant and had taken note of the fact we were going on to sadlers wells so made sure we ordered and were served quickly so we had enough time to eat. A vibrant atmosphere. Really nice pub.
Good Sunday roast, generous portion and quality ingredients. Worth the £25 a head.
Family visiting from LA who love British Ales and pub food. They were delighted with our choice and asked us to keep it in mind for next time they visit.
A great place for a pre-theatre drink or meal. Great atmosphere, freshly cooked food and a friendly, knowledgeable server!
Fantastic welcome, great service and food, reasonable prices.
Spent a really enjoyable afternoon in the Wilmington. We were a table of 6, everyone had the roast all said it was fantastic. Really enjoyed the wine as well. Service was nice and welcoming, though if im being really critical they could probably do with one or two more as it was pretty busy. Overall a superb experience, i would definitely recommend. And also kick bar round the corner to go somewhere after. Enjoy 😀
Sunday Roast was great, good meat and portion size, nice environment, relaxed, comfortable and very friendly service.
The Wilmington do an excellent Sunday roast, it is a bit more expensive than some places, but the quality is worth the extra couple of quid! I would really like to try the 6 hrs cooked rib of beef next time I'm there, based on the roast lamb I had I can only imagine how nice it will be. The waiting and bar staff were very attentive and relaxed, but still really on top of their service game. All in all we felt really looked after. Highly recommend!
Thoroughly enjoyable. The service is excellent- friendly and knowledgable without being intrusive. The food is cooked with real attention to detail, and is clearly well sourced and the wine list is well considered. Excellent value for money
Great Sunday roast and excellent service. Got a seat outside in the sun for a nice relaxed afternoon.
Food very nice, good portions, came out quickly, fresh and tasty. The restaurant was practically empty as it was lunch time and based on the service was poor. Asked for the bill and he didn’t get it and was really hard to get attention even with all of us trying!!
Very good overall...would definitely return for Sunday Lunch
As visitors to London for many years, it’s nice to travel a bit out of the touristy center to a real neighborhood where this charming pub is located. Everyone on staff was super friendly & mentioned there were several tables from the US over the course of Presidents weekend. The food was really delicious. lunch consisted of bloody Mary’s, cauliflower hummus, burgers and roast chicken. We will definitely go back!
