We are constantly adding new dishes created from the best in-season ingredients we can get our hands on. In general, our food is classically British in style but what we believe makes us stand out is the attention to detail and delicacy with which our kitchen approaches cooking.
Our wine menu is varied, with selections from the old world, new world and even some Kentish vineyards. Don’t be afraid to ask for a recommendation to suit your meal.
We are also well known for our BBQ and terrace area, which is open all summer. Come along and you can see your meal grilled or smoked in front of your eyes, with the mouth-watering smells getting your stomach rumbling.
Live music on key dates, Mother’s day, Father’s day, beer festival. See website for more details.
This place is Superb !!!! We had a great evening and the food was Devine.
Great food, great environment and fantastic service highly recommended!!!
Great, as ever. Service a little slow and I HATE being served pints with a 1”+ head on, but the great food more than made up for it!
The Windmill never fails as a venue. We were greeted by a friendly (new) member of staff, and served at the bar with drinks as we waited for our table, which was ready as soon as all members of our party arrived.
We ordered quite a complicated mix of small plates, starters, and mains, all with different arrival requirements. There were no issues, and the quality was fantastic, as it always seems to be. As the weather gets chillier, it's a great venue with a roaring open fire and plenty of warmth in both ambience and welcome.
First time visitor , was recommended by a friend who lives locally & wasn’t disappointed .
Lovely pub and restaurant great food definitely of mitchelin quality
Second visit to the Windmill and it was as good as the first, so good in fact, we're booking for Christmas Day - this place is fab!
The food was ok, the squid starter was disgusting, it was like eating lard and three of the party tried it and could not eat it. The menu is quite limited and there is a 10 percent service charge.
We had a really nice lunch with a variety of flavours
The house rent was very good and reasonably priced
Not quite if the barman was new but he didn't seem to have much of a clue. Poured my partner half a cider, went about a centimetre over the line and so tipped extra into a glass and through it away, odd.
Staff friendly and welcoming food was delicious will definitely be back
Excellent food & service as always! The sticky toffee pudding is the best!
It was a really good service, fast and efficient, the food tasted lovely and the people were friendly.
Very kind and considerate waiting staff, great with our two-year old daughter and fantastic food!
excellent as normal. the express lunch is superb value and does not compromise on quality. would highly recommend.
The food was up to a very good standard; however from the moment we arrived it was a waiting game. My friend even had to get the menus from the front desk herself as there were no staff to be seen. After waiting a while to order starters, the food came quickly and was delicious but we felt we had to order desserts as our mains were on the table for fear that we would not get served again. FAB food, slow service apart from one waitress who seemed very helpful.
Lovely meal and nice atmosphere. Fresh food in a lovely restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Great food, great service, great value. Hollingbourne’s best restaurant and bar.
The food and service are of the highest quality. Definitely worth visiting.
We had the Sunday roasts, so tasty and generous portions, we cleared our plates! Everything was fantastic and would definitely eat there again.
Would definitely (& have already) recommended - nice place, good food & pleasant staff.
Wonderful BBQ. Sat outside. Musician was playing he was great but of course quite loud so I couldn't hear conversation well. Staff extremely accommodating. Think this will be my new local pub! I love it! Great children's play area so my son was entertained too!
Fantastic quality in a relaxed village pub. A really great menu and wine list!
Really lovely food, venue and attentive waitress would definitely recommend.
Lovely food and venue. Perfect start to our holiday!
Friendly welcome, amazing food, quick service. Will return.
We have dined at The Windmill a number of times but unfortunately our experience on Sunday wasn't up to their usual standard.
We arrived early to have a drink at the bar, which was full of dirty glasses, not a great start. We were taken to our table and then left there, no offer of a drink or menu so after 15 minutes of listening to a screaming child and loud drunk women we asked for menus... We then asked to order starters... Then had to ask to order our mains. Not the service standard we usually receive at The Windmill. As soon as we finished we paid at the bar and left. To sum it up, awful atmosphere, shocking service but fabulous food!
We arrived an hour early to have a couple of drinks 1st. The bar was covered in dirty glasses. 1 person serving and it took 15 minutes to get a drink!
So loud you couldn’t hear yourself think!
When we decided to sit at our table it had been given to other people trying to get away from the noise! Slow service on drinks throughout the meal. Food was ok 7 out of 10. Don’t intend to go back.
Starters took 40 mins to arrive, steak arrived over cooked and was not very nice at all.
Service was very slack (Manager was serving restaurant), had to go to bar to get a drink, didn’t receive a check back or asked how meal was. Not very professional at all or apologetic.
Lovely atmosphere with amazing food and beautiful wine. Definitely would recommend.
Disappointing food this time - has been great before and I am worried going down hill. Door to toilet hanging off. I booked as a vegan and no effort put in to menu.
Great cosy pub with high quality food and friendly efficient service. Lovely garden and gin selection too.
Have recommended The Windmill to many of my friends. I came here for lunch and sat in the garden - hence had the BBQ menu. Was really really lovely and attention to detail was spot on. Will be back for some live music soon
Still one of my favourite places to eat. Staff are attentive but not overboard. Quaint setting and the food is delicious.
We had a fantastic time with our family and the staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs
Definitely go again x
Superb as ever. Rob you’ll be missed.
Lovely place with great food and service.
Tried this place out this week after finding it online. Quite a disappointment overall. Service was quite friendly although a little slow. This place has very little ambience. First impressions is that it is rough around the edges and could urgently do with a few coats of paint here and there to make it a lot more presentable.
On the plus side the food was really good but will not be going back
Easy booking everything as expected excellent!
First visit will be returning.
Atmosphere lovely, not too noisy. Food was delicious.
BBQ area looked comfortable. Good to see an outdoor bar, if you are dining outside it saves popping into the actual restaurant for a refill.
Nice play area for the little ones.
Great to see Pierepaulo, new Manager, from Pearsons Arms. Their loss is most definitely the Windmills gain.
Am definitely looking forward to returning with friends in the next few weeks.
